  • heyy yawlll go buy her song "AVE" on itunes!!!!!!!

  • HER FUCKING HAIR!!!!! <3_<3

  • wow

  • why did she wear that shit?

  • Comment removed

  • hey when are th new episodes gonna start?

  • i want her dresssssXD

  • god shes hot

  • needs to get vocal lessons

  • @swimmergurl808 Thats true, but the point of the competition is to find people who are "undiscovered."

  • woooooooooooooooooooow

  • I grew up listening to Callas, Rosa Ponsel, Martinelli, Caruso and Gigli to name just a few and there are few people that i will call singers, however, i have to say that she certainly has it. She is a bit shaky at the top and hard for her to hit the high notes so give her some more training and a few more years and she will be one of the greats of the modern era. One hopes that she continues to entertain us all

  • very good. but would opera officianados agree with us?

  • @Kherudjhuti She has a good voice, maybe the most talent among "operatic" singers on these tv shows, IMHO, but it's not good enough (yet) for opera. Just an opinion. Opera is difficult and requires both an amazing voice and years of training. She has the former, but not the latter. Check out Elina Garanca, Rinat Shaham, Anita Rachvelichvili, Anna Caterina Antonacci, etc. and see for yourself. For example - in context and subtitled so you see the character too: /watch?v=Yb3y6k2lzJQ

  • Thanks for the other singers... wow they are good! What I like about Lys Agnes, other than the fact that she does all kinds of music, is her interpretation. I've heard many other versions of this songs where the singer sounds like they are not in love, but are about to fall asleep. She also made a song that wasn't from the last century popular on AGT, which not many contestants have been able to pull off. Although I will say the lower notes in the middle of the songs sounded off...

  • @Miguelelpinguino828 She is very talented, you are right in many ways. BTW, the character here isn't in love, not yet. Carmen - a gypsy who works in a cigarette factory during the day, and sometimes helps smugglers by seducing the guards - tells her idea of love. She then notices a soldier who ignores her and throws him a flower. Later on, she'll seduce him, he'll give up everything for her, but she gets bored with him. If you are interested - full tv broadcast, subtitled: /watch?v=pUSeyRXmw-k

  • @jewelmarkess

Ah, thanks for the info. I'll definitely watch the tv broadcast. I don't know a whole lot about Habañera or even Carmen as a whole... all I know is that My parents are obsessed with Carmen, I'm learning Habanera on the piano, and AGT is one of my favorite shows. Thanks again for the link!

And as a side note... she pretty much blew it in the top 10.

  • Comment removed

  • Absolutely the best version of Habañera I have ever heard.

  • @Miguelelpinguino828 You must not have heard many versions.... Have you listened to Garanca, Antonacci, Shaham, Larmore, Graves, Bumbry?

  • @jewelmarkess

I have to say no... I DID spend like 1/2 an hour trying to find a good version of it that was longer on iTunes and youtube.... but i don't recognize the names :P

Lys Agnes is still good tho

  • @Miguelelpinguino828 Just try and listen to these singers - these are opera singers, singers who sing (or in case of Grace Bubmbry sang) in top opera theaters in the world. Lys has a good voice, but not the training, hence she misses some notes. There are others as well, I am not sure whom you heard. One of Elina Garanca's videos (the one from the Met) and Anna Caterina Antonacci's one have subtitles too, so you'll know the words and a little of context, the character and what it's about.

  • I wish she had gone on to the finals.

  • There is not a talent or being to arise on this planet, humble and filled with goodness, so valiantly expressed through her instrument. Stages worldwide await true grace. Thank you for letting us in to glimpse into the meaning of our gifts for others. You have understood well. Bring this world to a better place.

  • she didnt make it... :(

  • @HorizonHusky i know :(

  • She's an amazing singer ,but I have one thing to say... I WANT HER HAIR~! :P

  • I think she should audition for the NY Met!! She would do great!

  • she makes opera seem fun!!!!!!!

  • @nickiminajluver1234 Opera is fun, you just haven't heard the right ones. Look for scenes from Carmen here e.g. from the Met broadcast, many of subtitled scenes here, you'll see how much more it is when this opera is performed in costumes, with sets and acting.

  • she makes opera seem fun!!!!!!

  • Shes got a good voice, but the people who actually enjoy opera are most likely dying or already dead.

  • @MPSecare um.. you must be american, opera is dying nor is it dead, your just not looking for it.

  • @Ansel989 USA you know it! I don't like "American pop" and I'm just saying you don't see stuff like this around...

  • @MPSecare The Met broadcasts operas to the movie theaters all over the US and the world, you just aren't looking for it. Sure, the network tv and radio don't show it, but many PBS stations do. Our PBS station had several operas in July, this month as well. The Met movie broadcasts sell out by the way. Search here for "Met HD broadcast 2011-2012" for next season preview.

  • @MPSecare Ha I'm 17 years old and training to be a professional opera singer. You're obviously very uneducated as far as music goes if you think opera is dead. There are plenty of people out there who perform and enjoy opera (i.e. Renee Fleming, Cecilia Bartoli, and this stunning performer). Just because you're uninterested in the style, doesn't mean the rest of the world is.

  • @omgitsrebeccab Thats cool man, I just don't see it in Popular Music. I bet I could school the shit out of you on a bass or a guitar, so don't tell me I'm uneducated. I have been playing longer than you have been alive.

  • @MPSecare Well the majority of popular music these days is crap anyways, with the exception of people like Adele and Amy Winehouse, so of course opera wouldn't be seen in popular music, it's too good for it. But I'm sure you're great at whatever it is you do but before you comment on something like this, do a little research on the genre because opera is neither dead nor close to dying.

  • @omgitsrebeccab Right on, and I respect you supporting the arts.

  • @omgitsrebeccab I wouldn't exactly say Adele makes good music, her music's pretty bland to me. She has a few good tracks on her album, but the rest are rubbish. I find it painful listening to "Rolling in the Deep" because of the melody and compositions. But maybe that's just me though.

  • @ETskyler Well considering she's one of the few artists today who don't need autotune, writes the majority of her songs, and sounds fabulous live, I'd say she makes good music. But everyone's entitled to their opinion.

  • id hit it

  • She rocks

  • Lys AgnesWhat Looks What avoice,She will be around a long time

  • Did she make it to tha semifinals?

  • @joeyzvids yes

  • wow that's talent

  • Such a sad story she has :(

  • I like how she gets into character and stuff instead of just singing it. :)

  • I second the "drop dead gorgeous" /sexy post. Her voice is strong, full of emotion, and very very lovely.

  • Wow, drop dead gorious and sexy beyond belief. Oh yeah, very talented too !!!

  • Her voice is beautiful without a doubt but her style carries her I've never seen an opera Singer who looks like her she's out of the typical ordinary that's why she's anticipated

  • iam voting for her she is amazing

  • Lys Agnes is entertaining and she changed it up this week but kept to her original opra style good for her!

  • I like this woman- her voice., fantastic!!! She resembles Janet Jackson!! Hopefully you could get through and win this competition. My vote on you all the way!! .

  • Haha singers win because they're the best...hands down she is amazing and is probably going to win or at least come close winning...

  • Ok, i know that she is amazing, but is it just me, or is it getting annoying that EVERY SINGLE YEAR a singer wins, i hope a variety act or maybe a dance act wins this year

  • @000PandorasBox

    Habanera from Bizet's Opera, Carmen.

  • I hope evryone recognizes her talen and actually votes for her instead of just saying how good she is

  • BORING BORING FOR VEGAS. GOD VOICE MANY PEOPLE HAVE THAT BUT SHE'S NOT VEGAS. INJUSTICE.

  • Good presence, excellent voice, and a babe to boot.

  • i hope she wins.

  • What song is this??

  • Beautiful its simply gorgeous I love her she's so good, she makes opera great, I'm into opera now because of her I liked it because of Barbara and Jackie, but now there's another opera singer that I love whooo!!! Lys

  • @jaylovezmusic If you are into opera now, have you actually checked out singers who do sing in operas e.g. Elina Garanca, Rinat Shaham, Renee Fleming, etc? Also, don't confuse classical crossover with opera. Opera is a theatrical performance, it has story, characters, like a musical that is sung-through but one that is sung without microphones. If you are really interested in opera, you might enjoy singers who sing in operas and actual operas.

  • @jewelmarkess I know what an opera is but I didn't know what else to call it and yes I have seen scenes from operas, and I've heard actual opera singers

  • @jaylovezmusic This is great! I am sorry if I wasn't sure, it just that these days there is so little opera on tv and radio that a lot of people haven't been exposed to it. I am very passionate about opera, and so obviously I want more younger people to be exposed to it.

  • @jewelmarkess That's great that you have a real passion for it, I've only seen a few performances by a few singers, like The Flower Duet performed Sumi Jo & Ah-Kyung Lee and I've seen Anna Netrebko & Elina Garanca video of it, Sumi Jo is actually my favorite now because she knows how to use that voice of hers its beautiful, I was looking for Ave Maria by Caccini and I saw hers and instantly became a fan

  • @jaylovezmusic These are all great singers. Sumi Jo is fantastic, not sure if you've had a chance to listen to some of her other videos where she sings really difficult opera arias like Queen of the Night. Also, if you like the sound of opera, you'd enjoy a full operatic performance too at least for some operas. For example, this aria sung in context of a character and a story like here for example /watch?v=Yb3y6k2lzJQ is a very different experience (IMHO).

  • She made it to the Semi Final!!! and I helped her get there I voted over and over, I want her to win she's my favorite

  • Jackie Evancho is better

  • Breathtaking! Simply brilliant!

  • fo me its kinda depressin' y'all'

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE HER!!! She's fabulous. Opera is no where near 2011 and she's making it come alive!

  • @Sgbook09 Opera is very much alive today - there are many excellent singers today and many great performances from the Met broadcast to movie theaters all over the world, other theaters in the world too. Carmen is also probably the most popular opera out there. People who saw the Carmen performance from the Met on PBS said "I didn't know opera can be like this". Don't you think this comes alive: /watch?v=Yb3y6k2lzJQ

  • Oh, i hope she wins! THATS talent, not just another average singer, another little kid rap group. she totally needs to win.

btw thumbs up if u voted for prince poppycock last year!

  • She and Landeau are amazing!!!

  • meh

  • I REALLY don't want any singers to win but she should be the only exception! SHE IS PHENOMENAL!

  • Too bad she botched that note at 0:15. An easier song might be useful.

I still think she rules, though.

  • @Zendrig well to be far opera is really hard...

  • @6darkzexion ... and unforgiving.

  • @Zendrig LOL

  • @6darkzexion Opera also has very very high standards. A botched note in La Scala may get a singer booed off the stage. Opera requires more than just hitting notes in tune and sounding pleasant, it also requires effortlessness, breath control, phrasing, diction, acting and most importantly - great artistry, not to mention singing without amplification in opera theaters. Lys has a beautiful voice, she is very talented and beautiful woman, but I'd preferred her singing something simpler.

  • @jewelmarkess ya, i gues your right, but i still like her,...a for effort!

  • @6darkzexion Good point. I like her too by the way, just not in this aria....

  • Cool song

  • am i first................
