One of those songs, when you hear it the first time, you go around singing it in your head all day. I love this song. The very last notes..that Southern "church sounding" ending, pretty cool.
Not only were their harmonies beyond compare, Larry's skill as a wordsmith is incredible as well! I have been hooked on them for years, through his good times as well as his struggles. He sure has cold hands though!
not sure what year this was but i looked on the internet & it states "Broken Lady", which reached #1 on the Hot Country Songs chart in 1976. The song was so successful; Gatlin won a Grammy award for the song in 1977 for Best Country Song
Broken Ladies are everywhere. Why don't these men stop hurting us and think of someone other than themselves? RIP those who died because of a broken heart. <3
Great song by Larry but all of his are great with that powerful voice of his.
I'd sing you love if I could, but I think when the song ended you would be in the same state of mind. At the risk of sounding trite, the "fix" has to come from within.
my sister recently killed herself after her husband of over 47 years divorced her after she became ill. he totally destroyed her & she couldn't deal with it. this song says it all!!
I saw the violence my sis took over 8 years, he beat her up, pulled a shot gun on her, and beat me up too, and almost ran me off the road, and got wrestled down by 5 police officers.
I damn near almost shot him dead.
Well one day, he fell down to the floor I thought he died, I called the ambulance. they took him to the VA hospital. He remained in a coma for 2 weeks, then ultimately died.
Is Mary Jane the broken lady? Is the country a broken lady? Is the Constitution a broken lady in need of amending? Is America a broken lady? I think this song is going to take on the status of an anthem. It ha 14,478 views at 10:38 this Novemer17th.
This song has been a part of my life for many years. It's message is so strong. I wonder how many "broken ladies" have learned that to have love, you have to be willing to give trust and freedom?

The world is full of broken ladies and the statues without hearts that they run into. Together, they mend each other.

How many years I listen to them I don´t
