and goalie performance game to game, even period to period has the ability to sink or supercharge a team. notice how after an amazing save, a team tends to kill that impossible seeming penalty or rally back? if not theres at least more energy and output. goalies can control that more than any other player, because, duh, theyre out the whole game. all this contributes to having a major hand in winning more than "10" games. stop watching stats. pay attention to games

stats are not whats important to show a good goalie vs a poor one. theyre too vague and affected by other aspects of the game. what makes a goalie great is the presence he puts forth on the ice, or pitch, or any other arena with goalies. a good goalie gives his team the confidence that they dont have to watch his ass all the time. they can play a strong offense with the comfort that if some leak through, they have a brick wall in front of the net.

Tim Thomas has stated the following, as well as Brodeur (not Roy though, he's too cocky, lol) you're only as good as the team in front of you. A superstar goalie will steal you ten games per year, tops. Ten games out of 50 games played will not significantly impact your stats. Great saves, especially the second one...What is going on with the Bruins now...Correct me if I'm wrong. but they outshot Florida about 20-1 in the 2nd period, and around 50-20 for the game...In 60 minutes of regulation, 5 minutes of overtime, and a shootout, how do you not score one goal?

I was at the game, the panthers goalie was doing amazing. Thomas did very well, and the first save he mad was amazing, I was just to the left of the camera watching the game. The panthers goalie whose name I cannot remember off my head played very well and solid the entire night.

So why does Brodeur who is considered to be the best ever have the same save percentage of 91% as his backups who have combined to play over two hundred games when Brodeur is given a rest.

Why is it that for the last twenty years the best goalie in the league has a 92% save percentage and the worst goalies have a 90%. Wow, 2% big fucking deal. Of that 2% how many were screens, deflections, rebounds, power play goals etc.

Hasek played for Buffalo and the Sabres rarely gave up shots from prime scoring areas. So it was the team that aided and played a huge role in his save percentage! FACTS!!!

besides the devils, the bruins allowed the least amount of goals in the NHL, and Rask only started 39 games. Too many people are falsely accusing Thomas of having a terrible year and blaming him for losing his starting job. The fact is that he had a very solid year with a decent SV% and a GAA around 2.5 (Thomas had a lower GAA than goalies such as Roberto Luongo and Marc Andre Fleury) and he didn't lose his job. It was taken from him by a red-hot Rask who would have taken any1's job

Tukka Rask has played for Boston the last 3 years (rookie) and is .925 and 2.25. Awesome numbers!!! Better than almost every goalie in the league!

Thomas this past season in shootouts went 1 win and 5 losses allowing 9 goals on only 19 shots for a .526 save percentage. Also one penalty shot against him, went in! Thomas was 22nd amongst goalies in PK save percentage at .889, not first or even third, but 22nd! Less team in front of him, weaker stats!
