  • nice work, we have the full version on our site this week!

    cheers dude :)

  • omg, an asian dude speaking in an indian accent (5:20)

    wow, that's a first...

  • way to be a tard :B

  • actually, I will agree that my last comment was a bit obtuse.

however, you're still pretty dumb. if you had watched the entire film, you would have known that piracy is not a brand new thing. printing presses were considered piracy, "black magic," or even treason. now that the kingdoms and religions of old have gone by the wayside, corporations are the new kings by their own "divine right" because they have decreed themselves the new gods. (cont.)

  • the real reason they don't like piracy (check the facts; napster as an example increased CD sales exponentially) is because-as stated in the film-it gives people new ideas, new ways of communication, and of course gives people a way to get around prohibitively expensive book, music, and movie prices which are used to control the flow of information. (cont.)

  • so, in closing, if you're going to take an ad-hominem attack (note that I am guilty of the same crime) aimed at filesharing, or even a straw man approach, you probably need to get educated on the real matters.

  • You honestly believe corporations are trying control the flow of creativity and ideas?

They don't care about that. All they care about is getting paid. And that's not always a bad thing. They need to pay the artist if they want more of their material to sell.

In this world of capitalism, the artist NEEDS to be paid for his or her work. Otherwise, he has no reason to work. Not every artist writes for the sake of communicating happiness and joy to the world, you know. Most do it to live.

  • Piracy always hurts the artist. ALWAYS. While it might be argued that it increases publicity, it always hurts more than it helps. If you have 100 people who download an album for free, and 10 of them go buy the album, it pales in comparison to the 25 that would have bought the album had it not been available for free (had they been introduced to it some other way, say, on the radio)

(Late reply, I know, but I just dug up the notification in my mailbox...)

  • @JLScythe you should note that the artists can find new and creative ways of getting paid. And on the sidelines why do they need to be more richer then they are in these circumstances?

Imo artists should be more modest about their earnings. And what about the new artists? They only have a chance of getting any money is by entering a MTV "guild" of performers.

Guilds where found not viable in middle ages.

  • your definition of 'communication' is too narrow, we are always communicating with the world through all of our senses (and our technology).

music is a form of human knowledge, stored as data when its shared on computers. by downloading music you are exchanging information, so it is therefore a type of 'communication'. pretty simple

  • I believe we should be selective in what we make freely available. Information that may benefit humanity in general, ie/ medicine, mostly-benign scientific knowledge, ought to be distributed. Creative works, however, should be controlled for the benefit of the creator. If musicians, artists, etc... recieve no compensation for their efforts, there's gonna be precious few of them.

  • but the creative works are usually not controlled by the creator, they're controlled by record companies for the benefit of stockholders. musicians always get a fraction of what their work is really valued.

  • Not necessarily! You see, musicians have a choice in how they wish to handle their business. Major bands get signed by record companies because the companies are a method to spreading their music further. However, with the internet and the like, we are seeing more and more independent bands these days.

And the fact remains that control of your work and profit are two things that must be decided by the artist. You have to sacrifice one to get the other.

Beyond that, I think my point holds.

  • I see what they are saying, but I still think a world where your hard work and creations are simply assimilated into the culture at large with no reward to you would be a very sad world indeed.

  • W8... a minute... firstly the video is about those pirates selling CDs in my neighbourhood. Then it goes straight to war and Christianity...

How annoying it is for Christians to bear with that?

  • i think its just too complex for your simple mind..

  • you ought to stick this in its entirety on google video.

  • Its really a vieo this there is a 1 to it to you can go to the website

just search, Steal this film II and you can download it for psp ipod everything
