its not like they forgot its mostly because sasuke doesnt care about any female currently in the episodes, so you dont see any actual chemistry in the series, whereas naruto and sakura seem to be with each other more often and at a few keypoints the message is basically blurted it out who likes who.

At first in the shippuden series sakura still has feelings for sasuke and naruto still likes her but realizes he cant be with her cuz of her feelings for sasuke. If u watch Shippuden as the series goes on the two start to fall for eachother more and more. Naruto gets his feelings back for her and she ends up realizing she has feelings for naruto. And supposedly in the book series eventually the two end up together. Srry to the naruto-hinata fans.
