yea they do this in the army to demonstrate how its like with poisonous gases.. i think they have to practice putting gas masks on while in there and they also have to do exercises like running in place and things like that..

This is the gas chamber at Camp Lejuene N.C.. What they are doing is testing the seals on their masks by moving around/running in place/et cetera. If you didn't operate your mask correctly, the CS gas gets into your lungs and you begin to turn into a mucus and vomit factory.
what type of gas? can it kill somebody after long exposure?
