Gajdobra

I would like any information on Germans in Gajdobra. My grandfather came from that village to the US before WWII. His name was Joseph Jacob Flock. My grandfather said my great-grandmother and other relatives were killed by Soviets after WWII. I have a diagram of the farm that was there. Please someone write me back.

Wie anrührend und traurig! Das Dorf hat seine Seele verloren. Ich war dort, in diesem Sommer. Die Kirche blieb mir verschlossen. Das Haus meines Vaters gibt es wohl nicht mehr. Eine alte, sehr arme Frau hat mich zu sich eingeladen, Kaffee gekocht. Sie kam erst nach dem Krieg nach Gajdobra, aus Bosnien. Da waren die allermeisten Schwaben schon nicht mehr da. Auch meine Urgroßeltern nicht, meine Tante, mein Cousin und viele andere. Sie verhungerten in Jarek.

The villages were all built by Germans. The German people living there were murdered in their thousands from 1944 onwards. This lasted until the mid 195os. These people were not soldiers or murderers. They were mostly women, children and old people who were left defenceless. My mother was born in a German village like this.

This is a beautiful, moving film.

i was in Gajdobra...I saw Srbian people in old germain hauses,on which still man can see the name of germain owner,and in the midlle of village ,beautiful church...1979 church was in the mess.Who does still remembers big persecution of Germans from Vojvodina?Does Srbian have peace on blood taken place??

I loved your video!!!! I am a descendant of the family of Josef and Magdalena Baljer!!! Wie meine mutter immer sagt in bezug auf Gajdobra, "Es war einmal, so fangen alle Maerchen an!!!"

Sie ist jetzt 85 und musste ihr Zuhause mit 21 verlassen...fuer immer!!!
