3:02 i love that note - it's naturally big without a trace of push. When I watched "Shirley Bassey vs W.H." video I noticed that Whitney often chose to sound nasty in her middle belts where Shirley had more freedom. Of course I prefer Whitney as a singer.

Whitneys vibrato, and belting through the mask on "will be free!" is for me the most thrilling part of her voice

this really is her money range. there just an extra something in her sound that stronger than the others

of course Mariah is also a phenom in this range, and Barbra and Aretha are the all time greats

i will say everyone (except Alicia) is crazy in tune. so dead center of the pitch that you almost cant tell who it is while theyre sustaining it. love that

No, all she did was flip in and out of vibrato at the end of the note. Barbra has one of the most effortless voices and has belted F#5 and G5 with ease. i doubt this was a strain for her. And even if it was, which other female artist has held a D above Tenor High C for 20 seconds? No one else.

Chaka changes up her belting styles cuz she can dd as much chest as she pleases and mix jus as much. i think aretha mixes alot more than chaka. maybe u've jus heard belts from chaka that hav been shown in belting vids like these.
