  • i recently saw a roll on foundation in walmart...have you heard about this product or way of putting on foundation?

  • @CrystalDreamtown Don't even bother with those types of foundation the foundation is all cakey and the applicator is very unsanitary since you're rolling it in the makeup over and over again, and if you use that applicator you could break out.

  • Hello I watch you all of the time with my mom but, I was wondering is how do you properly clean your brushes? Would you mind making a video doing so? Thank you very much and I will be watching!!!

  • TiPs::: I like to use finger because your body heat makes product easier to blend. One tip you can use with the sponge ie to wet it- it will 'absorb' less foundations and make it easier to create a smooth surface. :) any questions or if you want more tips, let me know on my homepage! :)-maynays-

  • Thanks for showing the sponge. I have been trying to figure out why people use them for applying makeup. It really does soak up all the foundation. I've used them wet and dry and I just make a mess. Now I know they are for *blending*. I've always used my fingers but you have convinced me to try a foundation brush for applying and then a sponge or blending brush for blending. I can't wait! Thank you Koren. <3

  • Okay, well i totally disagree with what you said about a sponge. Usually people apply the foundation onto the sponge then to their face, also you pressed super hard when you were dragging the sponge across the plate, we dont really use that much pressure. Also im a 14 year old girl i cant afford a airbrush machine i have a foundation brush but it looks to kaky for me i feel like in your video your saying that if you use your finger or sponge you dont look pretty with is kinda offensive to me.

  • ew

  • OMG I LOVE YOU<333

  • you are so cute in the beginning of this video!!!

  • Thanks so much for this tutorial!! :)

  • I have to admit, when I saw the first 10 seconds of this video I thought you are doing some parody. BUT then I understood, you really know what are you talking about. I loved the explanations, I loved your voice, I loved how naturally you spoke, I loved the logic in your advices. This was totally helpful! Thank you so much for this!

  • I was surprised you didn't include the Mac 187.

  • nooe pushes that hard when applying makeup..and you did it dry against a hard plate. our skin is soft. so try a sponge on your face with the sponge wet. :)

  • What would be the best foundation for me? I am 50 years old and have roughness to my skin. In other words, It is not like the skin on the inside of my forearm like it once was. I have oil around my nose and my forehead is very dry. I am sandy blond and have blue eyes so i usually wear a warm beigh colors.

  • @lyndaraven Sorry I'm not Enkore Lol but I'd think Lancome Photogenic Skin Illuminating Makeup SPF 15 is a nice foundation for you to try if you haven't already. And its oil free.

  • i heard that if you want to use a sponge for foundation, you should wet the sponge so that it doesnt absorb all that product

  • Nice....but needs to be more simple, who has a airbrush gun laying around (unless your a nail tech) and it would be nice to see it on a face.

  • I <3 your videos! You're always so cheery and full of information :3

  • Dude! you just wiped up the foundationwith the sponge like you were trying to wipe it off. Normal people wipe a lot lighter

  • Hi Koren, i was wondering which foundation you would suggest most for me, i have dried sking but and oily t-zone area, and i also want to know what would be the best foundation tool to use. i heard that the mac 190 leaves a streak and i want something that will look flawless and natural. Thank you.

  • where can u buy the air brush gun?

  • what if the sponge is wet?

  • you got the fingers wrong

  • That's not how I use my sponge when I apply my foundation. And I can't get a hold of a brush in my town : ( Like they focus on products and not tools, at all..

  • @xThisGirl95x

If you can, there are a ton of sites online that you can buy brushes from.

  • how much is the average airbrush gun?

  • Pointer and index finger are the same (:

  • try wetting the sponge with water first then use the sponge with the foundation that way you can use the sponge without it absorbing the foundation! ;)

  • You're using the sponge wrong. (:

  • Thanks a lot, this video is really helpful!! XD

  • thank you!!! =D

  • why do you have to be so rude...?

  • 7:18 Looks like oddly burnt toast! Thanks for the super vids Koren! <3 Ya!

  • where can i buy an airbrush?

  • It's sold at stores especially for people who are professional makeup artist, and you can just buy one, you have to know how to use it.

  • LOL the sponge was funny. This is a very helpful video. Thank you ;)

  • so what about stick foundation????what will b the best tool 2 aply it???

  • how bout the stippling brush? cos that's what i use in my foundation.

  • I love watching your videos...very helpful!

  • @ frugal. noooo don't use those!! they're kinda fluffy and designed for airy powdery makeup where as the foundation brush is compact and tight for gliding creams. + the kabuki may streak the foundation or just absorb it anyway :(

  • Thanks this tutorial help me a lot, i just buy my foundation brush and works hevenly ^^, and your totally right about the sponge is better for blendet

how do you clean the brush?

  • will you show us how to do foundation for the gun?

  • wow i love this guy!helped so much!thnk you so so much.

  • how do you clean your brushes ...???

if you had used it on power ... eye shadows ... and etc.??

  • I just clean my brushes by filling the sink with some warm water and (dime size) shampoo. :)

  • oh i see .. it doesnt ruin the brushes????

  • Where to get an airbrush? Is it available in most stores? How to clean it?

  • now i want an air brush

  • so thats why after i apply a foundation it looks like my face is oily bcoz im using my finger.. ehehhe

  • If you wet the sponge first, it absorbs less of the foundation. And unless you are using makeup specialized for aging, getting it into your fine lines is only going to make them look worse.

  • wet the sponge first. the water absorbs less of the foundation(:

  • Hi can you please let me know where to go the metal like plate I'm trying to look for it every where and I can't find it. Please HELP!!

    Thank you

  • you are amazing! im going to stop using my fingers now!! haha!! gonna buy a brush but ooooh really REALLY want an airbrush. i been sitting up all night watching your vids. im obsessed with it now! thanks so much for your vids!! xxxx

  • that is exactly what happens to me every time i decide to watch enkore.....

  • how much does an airbrush cost?

  • SUBSCRIBED!

  • This REALLY helped me :)

    Thank you so much!

  • the medium really applys with make up and what you use is how u use it so this vid wa helpful but anything really works

  • were can i get an air brush gun??????

  • would you guys say a wet sponge or a foundation brush is better in applying foundation?

  • Yes, (But only wet it SLIGHTLY otherwise you get a face full of water.)

In my opinion, a soft tapered brush (like the one used in this video) is the best thing to use.

    (Unless you are a pro.)

    Good luck!

  • why would you even say that...? not like he can change his voice (not that he would, if he could, just because you said that). no offense - stupid comment. how's that?

  • well said! :D

  • if you wet the spong it makes the application smoother and it absorbs less makeup

  • you should wet your sponge before you apply the foundation, it absorbs less of the foundation

  • Can you please do a tutorial on how to use your airbrush? please

  • thanks for the vid! really helpful!

  • i love the airbrush but i couldnt afford to use that since its to expansive . i have to admit i never used a brush i always use a sponge ore my hands lol... but im already used to it and i have no problems with blending it too! but yea i love the airbush to bad that it is so exansive!

  • thanks , i love it! can you tell us about foundation? if is better in creme or liquid?

  • Both are pretty much the same.

I'd say liquid is better because it shows a better glow in your skin, unlike creme makes your face sometimes "caky".

    *Creme makes you breakout more.

  • great video!! really :D

but sorry your fingernails look gross.. sorry..

  • I agree! ;-]

  • YES please do the airbrush vid id love to see that ! :D

  • lovely demonstration of foundation tools.

    brilliant.

  • Korem, will you do a full step by step demo on using the airbrush to apply foundation on a model? Thanks!

  • Does anybody use MAC studio sculpt? What do you use to apply it? I've been using disposable sponges but I hate how they absorb so much of the product and isn't eco-friendly

  • Honestly, I find that (clean) fingers do the best job. I tried lots of ways w/ studio sculpt (like foundation brush, beauty blender sponge, mac 188) and that is what worked with it. Also, you only need like a teeny tiny bit of the studio sculpt. That was my inital problem and why I didn't like it, I was using way to much. =)

  • Sponges absorb less it you wet them and then sqeeze out the excess water - that way they absorb less of the product, but I still prefer my sponge for blending and apply with a brush.

  • check out makeupbytiffianyd. check out her channel she did a video on how to apply the studio sculpt

  • the airbrush looks good....can simply anyone yet it? from where?

  • I like MAC 190 because its fast but I need alot more foundation. When I use MAC 187, I used lots, so that's why I like that one too.

  • Thank you so much for this tip. I was thinking all along that I wasted money on my foundation brush.

  • I dip my sponge in water so it absorbs less of the makeup. :)

  • thanks this helped a lot!(:

  • Can't stand sponges -- soaks up my foundation totally. I love the MAC 187 brush -- LOVE it!

    Great vids Koren, thanks.

    JM

  • you're very helpful enkore! thankyou ^_^

  • i think u apply wiv fingers and get excess off wiv sponge is a gd method xxx

  • This explains why my foundation seems to be used up rather quickly: it's all sticking on my sponge!

  • What constitutes as Mixing media for the air brush? Water?

  • It's a mixture of one part glycerin and three parts distilled water under sanitized conditions.

  • OHHH thank you JipJDB!

  • Hey Koren ! I've heard that the "SKUNK BRUSH" is also very good for liquid foundation.. true? false?

  • What primer would you recommend for an african american with a few acne scars around the cheeks and nose?

    Please and thank you!

    Your vids are fabulous :)

  • SOO enkore how much did u buy ur airbrush tool?? and where is the best place to purchase one???

  • Thanks !!!

  • Hi Koren !

I have the Benefit Some Kind-a Gorgeous, what would be the best tool to apply that sort of foundation... ???

  • thats cream-to-powder so you can use either a regular foundation brush like the MAC 190, or I like the 109 brush on creams.

  • If you wet the sponge, it will not absorb your foundation ;)

  • wonderful video Koren. thanks so much for sharing!

  • there is a lot of gifted people in the world, passionate about what they're doing, experts in their field, but only few of them can actually teach, explain, pass their knowledge. You are definitely a great teacher! love your tutorials!

  • I SECOND THAT!!!!

  • dear lovley man, where oh where did you get the silver square thingiee that you put the foundation on from? ( phew) luf ya vids

  • I got it from Cinema Secrets dotcom

  • you can use an old or unused blank cd/dvd if you like....you have it around the house and does the same thing!

  • That's so great! I never realized the sponge absorbed that much product...I am virtually getting no coverage using one and now I realize why. DOH! I just bought the Coastal Scents brush and I'm really anxious to use it! Thanks!

  • sorry for my english! (I m a french speaker) thx a lot for these importants explication! thx U merci bcp

  • that airbrush is awesome!

its so worth it, i can imagine it lasts for years.

  • hey koren,....love your stuff! i was just wondering if you preffered airbrush makeup or mixing your own with mac, mufe, and so forth and why?

  • hey koren....love your stuff!!! i was just wondering if you preferred premade airbush makeup or to dilute other brands like mac, mufe and so forth? and what your opinion is for your reason

  • ive used both - depends on my client. If theyre allergic to silicones, then I cant use airbrush foundations that are silicone based. If they are used to a certain liquid foundation, then I use that thinned with mixing medium for airbrush application.

  • Awesome! Never thought about using an airbrush. I have one that I use for cake decorating.

  • im watching all your vids from the begining, if this is answered somewhere else then great, but if not, how do i know whether to use liquid or powder or the half and half kind of concealer? thanks.

  • I have a question(or maybe 2 >_>;). So how much and where can you find an airbrush, as well as do you need specific foundation to put in it or is it ok to just put in foundation with some water to make it liquidier?

  • i got my system from DixieArt (dot com) and you can either use Airbrush Foundation, or any liquid foundation thinned with mixing medium to a milk consistency.

  • Thank you very much!! : )

  • I would think the airbrush tool would be a little difficult to use on yourself, and would probably take some practice. I don't wear liquid foundation right now, but when I did I used a sponge and I guess I didn't realize how much product gets wasted. Thanks for these tips!

  • very helpful video

  • HOW MUCH DiD U GET FOR UR FOUNDATiON BRUSH!??..

  • Omg this was an amazing vid

    you are so informative

That airbrush looks amazing Im gonna save up for one!

But i dont know where I can get one.

    any advice?

    love ya xxx

  • where can you can an airbrush?! lol

  • wow,,,i like that gun~~~ XD

  • wow this video is very very helpful. Now Ihave a question. When do I put the sunscreen in my face? I clean, toner and moisturise (now my mac one has spf) but if I am using one that there is not, could you kindly tell me when do I put the sun screen? thanks :)

  • you do it the same time when you moisturize. I even mix it with the moisturiser if that doesnt have spf.

  • wow!

hah, now i wanna get a gun =]

  • Oh, and do you clean your foundation brush after every use? And how? Do you use your brush cleanser? Because I only rinse it with water and run it over a piece of toiletpaper lol :P

  • yes, i just use brush cleanser, and it I have the time -- Id wash using warm water and little baby shampoo

  • Thanks!

Can I use a regular foundation brush for mousse foundation too?

  • hi Liehieze -yes definitely

  • wow I love the airbrush! where can I get one? and cheers for this...pretty awesome upload

  • nice one enkore....luv ya...

  • Would you recommend using the MAC 187? im not so happy with my foundation brush, i find it goes on too thick and streaky. Do you think the 187 would be a better alternative? btw- i use liquid foundation)

  • absolutely, if you wear liquid it will give it a more airbrushed look to it.

  • With matte foundations, and matte mousse foundations, can you use the 190 brush?

  • yes - use the 190

  • How often do you clean a foundation brush? After each use?

  • yes! I definitely clean every use. Face brushes picks up loads of oils from your skin, and bacteria forms so fast on the brushes. At the most every other day is fine.

  • Thanks for this. I always used my fingers but I just bought a foundation brush. I'm still trying to figure out how to do it and that's how I came across this video. :) I would love to try an air brush at some point but I know they are a little pricey.

  • can you apply cream foundation with a powder brush?

  • most powder brushes are too soft to be used as a foundation brush, specially in using cream products. You want something a little stiffer like perhaps a flat-top buffer.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • Hi Koren , thanks for this very useful tutorial, u know i had the 190 brush all the while but i never used it, instead i used to use my fingers or the sponge. So now i know the brush is a useful tool, i need to get started with the brush, btw id like to ask u how thick or thin a foundation should be applied for a bridal makeup, i like to achieve good results for eye view and also photography.....Thanks Koren for this very imformative video.

  • hey babyboo - its always safe to start medium, then build as needed, always step back and look at your bride to see how it looks from a couple feet back. Also, constantly take digital picture so you can also see what it looks like behind the lens. You're the artist, so when you achieve the look you're going for, thats when you stop.

  • this is great!! thanks.

i use a sponge currently, but i think i'll go buy a brush.

  • you should clean your makeup tools before using it because once i did'nt clean my brush and my eye hurt alot

  • hey there! is the airbrush gun easy to use and how much can i find it for? I have been wanting that "airbrush" flawless look that i see on many makeup artists in the MAC stores. How much do they go for? thanks! and u are so helpful!

  • it takes a little bit of practise and technique but once you get the hang of it its pretty easy. AB equipment are pretty expensive, they can go from $200 to $700 for the equipment alone.

  • hey koren :) what do you recommend for cream foundations? sponge??? 190?

  • i would go for the 190 more than a sponge. I also love using the 109 on cream foundations.

  • if i am a C40 in studio fix powder, what color would most resemble that in studio fix fluid?

  • try the NC 40 in fluid

  • Hi Koren! Thanks for the tutorial! I use liquid to powder make up and so far, I've been using the sponge that came with it. Since it's not really a liquid, more of a cream, is it as problematic as using liquid foundation with a sponge?

  • it will help if you use a wet sponge, otherwise, your sponge will just absorb the makeup more than it applies on your skin. and always discard the sponge every use, so get a bad of inexpensive sponges if you go that route.

  • hey joy - definitely check out Studio Fix Liquid. It sets to a nice powder-matte finish, and will take care of your slight shining.

  • i actually went to coastal scents cause its im allergic to natural bristle hair.... and i think they dont ship here to guam... and the dfs here are all natural hair.... and in other store they dont sell brush....

So enkore do u know any other sites that sells synthetic make up brushes????

    thanks

  • hey Jen - I emailed them, and they said they do mail to GUAM, Puerto Rico, and USVI, (US Territories) So you can order.

  • Wow. Id never actually heard of using an airbrush haha.

But, this is the video I have been searching all over you tube for!

    Thankyou, x

  • I like your name :)

  • Hi koren. Thanks for the vid. It was very helpful. I hope that you are able to do more tutorials with arubrushing soon. I wanted to ask you, since i have very oily skin what is the best foundation for me whether it's cream, liquid, mineralized? Which foundation from MAC is best for oily skin? thanks.

  • hey de916 - yes more on airbrushing soon, just trying to mix up my videos to cover different interests, but yeah keep watching, and there are more on airbrushing coming soon. For oily skin, you want something that will absorb the oils. Mineralized is best, as by nature, they absorb oils that skin produces. You can try MAC Mineral foundation loose, or the SkinFinish Naturals. Also, I find Studio Fix Liquid is great too as it sets to powder finish.

  • hey!! I love your videos.. Can I request you do a demo about different concealers and how you use them?? ID REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!

  • hey koren!

i think you changed your favorite foundation brush! isnt it the 188 or duo stippling brush from coastal scents?!

  • they are both stippling brushes, same material, just different manufacturers. I use both now, specially when I need more than one stippler. Both works just the same.

  • i use my fingers to apply...i find it to be easiest, cheapest and able to control the best...i sometimes use sponge and brush also..but with brush i have to wash so i am sooo lazy and sponge i feel like it is wasting money since i throw away every use...haha

  • i love your videos! they are very helpful, i learned so much from your videos, thanks for making them! :D

  • Hey Koren,

I have the dryest skin EVER just in between my eyebrows, so I hardly ever wear foundation because it makes it even dryer. I have tried almost every moisturizer out there and nothing works. Any suggestions????

  • hey Mary - have you tried MoistureLush? Its great for flakey dry skin. All Eucerin is pretty good too.

  • hi koren,

I wanted to ask are synthetic brushes the type of brushes for applying liquid foundation? I was lookign at coastalscents brushes because they're more affordable for me =] lol

  • hey sugarmelon -yes sythetics are ideal for liquids and creams.

  • Hey Koren!

I know you said where you got that metal palette from in one fo your videos but I've forgotten, sorry! Can you please remind me?

  • hey hannah - i got if from CinemaSecrets (dot) com.

  • Hi Koren! First of all, LUV ALL ur VIDs! I just purchased the Luminess Air Pro Airbrush system and I cannot wait to receive it! My question is.. Do you know if I'm able to use the MAC foundations with it instead of using their foundations? Thanks :o)
