  • Maybe it's cause i'm stoned right now but I felt like I was watching the Muppets when they play in their band, especially when the shaggy haired dude was playing the rhodes keyboard.

  • Thom when he still knew what a razor was.

  • One of my favorite songs of all time. Great live performance too.

  • this song is called karma police assholes

  • 8 persons wasting their time

  • I WANNA BE SATURDAY.

  • I have never seen a band so good live.

  • Why are Ed and Thom wearing the exact same clothes

  • @Izzy220988 sponsored

  • Its actually funny to see how this a new thing in the 90´s, and it´s already a classic in the 2010´s

  • @eazzy93 This song was practically canonized by the time I hit university in 2001

  • Amazing what you can do with the chord progression from The Beatles 'Sexy Sadie'

  • @Landerspromo Who are the Beatles?

  • @Ryanrobot99 An obscure band from the '60's.

  • @Landerspromo haha

  • @Landerspromo Thats only the chorus..

  • why do people have the nerve to watch a performance like that and then press the dislike button , it beggers belief

  • This song like many other Radiohead songs ROCK!! Live or recorded , dont matter just as good either way!!

  • I love how Jonny is just rocking out that keyboard.

  • LOVE this version

  • Great performance! what a great sounding acoustic guitar. Gibson Hummingbird, my favourite acoustic guitar to play for sure, and they do sound the best

  • letterman doesn't deserve these guys on his show.

  • this song is like the situation in my country that is experiencing many problems??? , I like the lyrics not just on one issue but on many of the arguments that we should dig move forward songs with radio head and continue working,,,

  • Take THAT national television!!

  • Wow! this is amazing.

  • love the rhodes piano here.

  • @useless987 i was going to say the same thing. I think i might prefer this arrangement with the rhodes instead of that upright he usually plays on this tune.

  • @johnqpublic2718 I think they're both great. There are different reasons to love the piano version and the love version. A little change can make a huge difference. Great lesson here.

  • People that make really amazing music always look like their suffering. Almost like their gift as a lyricist or musician is more of a burden rather than a gift.

  • @Howieeeeex I think its the other way round, people who are suffering are able to write things people can relate to

  • @Howieeeeex reading this reminded me of yorke talking about Street Spirit and that he has to detach himself from what he is singing in that song or he would break down on stage.

  • @Howieeeeex there is alot of pain involved in making how you feel into songs. for certain people their pain is different. just my two cents

  • @Howieeeeex Musicians and artists aren't "gifted." Gifted implies that they have not worked hard, and have received a magical skill. Rather, they ARE suffering. You will never have any idea how hard they have sacrificed to gain the skill and talent they have earned.

  • @Howieeeeex True but Thom was really fucked up around this time. That Ok Computer tour really did a number on his sanity

  • @Howieeeeex .....like jeff buckley!

  • the former rather than the latter..."who said you were born to be happy" 8 1/2..peace thom

  • @Howieeeeex No, I think it's just this guy.

  • @moneyquickeasy

    Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley, etc.

  • @moneyquickeasy What about Steven Wilson, Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley, Stuart Braithwaite, Jamie Stewart, Belinda Butcher, Robin Pecknold, Syd Barrett, Mark Hollis, Ed Droste, James Blake, Phil Elvrum, and Jonsi? They all look miserable & they all make/made amazing music.

  • @BruisedEyeSockets I don't know about any of those people except for Buckley (the great Buckley). And I think his expression fits the emotional vibe of the song, as it should. But did he look miserable, do I think? No. In any case, if artists were miserable performing on stage, they wouldn't be doing it.

  • @BruisedEyeSockets Add to that Ian Curtis, Morrissey and Kurt Cobain.

  • @Howieeeeex Can't believe I forgot all 3 of those. Thanks.

  • @Howieeeeex all humans who are constantly thinking are always in pain..especially seeing the state of our world..the acceptance of greed and ego..

  • @Howieeeeex: Or more like they're burdened with troubles and that their gift is the only way they can let the hurt out.

  • @Howieeeeex Very interesting theory

  • Sounds weird

  • I wanted Letterman´s introduction. "Tonight´s guest is a rock n roll band (Always says rock n roll no matter what the gengre :P) and their new CD Ok Computer was just released. Please welcome... Radiooo...head!"

  • woah woah..why are people saying Radiohead > God?? dude..can't we say something more realistic like they're bigger than Jesus??

  • @egge5027 radiohead is my god

  • @egge5027 What about the Trinity ? God = Jesus = the Holy Spirit.

  • @mogwai142 You forgot the last part.

    = fictional

  • @lawlsimpopular Probably is.

  • Blegh, not nearly as good w/o the real piano :P

  • @arliben It's better, Rhodes piano rules

  • thom yorke is so hot.

  • hguone TON s'ti ..nac I lla nevig ev'I

I've given all I can.. It's NOT enough

  • johnny greenwood is god!! totally agree....don't believe me? check out who did the music for the move "There Will be Blood". All johnny original

  • jonny greenwood >god.

  • The idea of god has brought about centuries of war and strife on the inside.

The existence of Radiohead has brought a decade or two of beautiful music and albums we wish to remember forever. Uniting music lovers and introducing those to the concept of music.

    Radiohead > God

  • that beat my statement. XD

  • Can't we enjoy music without adolescents or barely post-pubescent angst ridden college kids speaking to how "awful" religion and God is.

And I'm not particularly religious, I'm just tired of people complaining about religion. If I want to hear about how bad religion and God is, I'll go ask a freshmen in high school.

    Thanks.

  • @charliemurphyslaw

    God = Your imagination

Radiohead = A very very good band comprised of real human beings.

There, I fixed yours, you're welcome. (You wanted to change the discourse from clearly casual and humorous remarks to something more serious, there you go.)

  • @gavbag1234

    My Imagination > Radiohead

  • @diln5

    Doubt it.

  • @gavbag1234

    Radiohead's imagination > My imagination > radiohead.

    Things are lost in translation

  • @charliemurphyslaw nope, its Radiohead>God by far.

Radiohead exists, and they actually give a damn about our planet.

  • i want a full jonny greewood bio, anyone?

  • Is it bad that I wanna jack off to this?

  • No it is completely normal and a part of my daily routine.

  • Best band of nowadays.

    Peace.

  • I ve given all I can.. Is NOt enough

  • love the bass in the ending

  • aww i wanned to see yorke meet letterman

  • man he looks crazy when he sings, but he is still possibly the greatest singer/song writer of this generation. just a little unsettling .

  • Fantastic.

  • great song!!

  • Radiohead = fucking amazing

  • thats a nice rickenbacker

  • ed owns in this song, and whenever the camera pans to jonny i giggle

  • Fuck it, I'm going to come right out and say it. I have been a sucker for his lazy eye and how it starts to look when he begins to smile slowly when singing. Since the "fake plastic trees" video. That was longer ago than most think. And if you were there along with it to. Shit, we are getting old. But that's okay...

  • I had a dream i was walking chilling with Thom york we where talking about different bass sounds and tones stuff was great dream. until this punk came out and called us creep and shit they wanted money i fought them 3 guys while Thom kicked one of them and we ran of man because they were a whole bunch of punks after us like 22 guys lol and we started to laugh and ran of into a bus and then the alarm sounded and i woke up damn it i would had given my life away to protect Thom lol

  • and letterman's still on the payroll

  • This sounds stupid, but i have to say it: Am I the only one who sees a striking similarity between Jonny and Animal the muppet? you know, because of all the hair flopping around....

  • what year is it?

  • @gulamantol: He was probably using an effect pedal (notice his right foot) and then making it fade out by turning the volume down on his amp

  • looks like he turns up the chorus or reverb rate as the guitar feeds back

  • Yes! Left foot, though ;)

  • left foot

  • wow

  • the piano sounds cool

  • I remember having this CD back in 98. Pawned it with a load of other things to raise bail for my husband at the time. Fuck!

  • One of the best live performances of Radiohead singing Karma Police . It's featured on "Meeting People is Easy". They look so in control and confident at such a young age. Thats what they learnt from the public school their parents paid for. I guess thats why they aren't very popular with the working classes. i like them but they were/are very privileged.............unlike the rest of us.

  • acoustic guitar is awesome

  • OMG I love this song

  • OMG I love that song

  • makes you realize how short thom is

  • I love this song......welcome to life as it is.

  • 02:41 Look at Colin just jammin' on the bass, like it's the most natural thing in the world to do.

  • Jonny's hair looks very soft and luxurious.

  • what a song, what a band, love you radiohead, thom, jonny, colin, ed, phil, you're the best band ever

  • what a song.. what a band.. love you radiohead, thom, jonny, ed,collin, phil

  • Great version of this BRILLIANT song! =D

  • 2:17 bassist hahaha

  • 2:42 demented

  • He's an odd-looking man, but I'm in love with his mind and I'd marry him in a second. <3

  • esta cancion sale en el meeting people, right?

  • esta cancion sale en el meeting people, right?

  • the drummers head looks spot on at 2:28

  • best song

    thom york rules.

  • I miss the backup vocals. nice tho.

  • Such an awesome performance!

  • my friend bought "the best of" and only liked this:o weird

  • What a complete and utter toot he is. What a song though. Bring on Reading Fest this year!

  • Such a great version of this amazing song from one of the best albums in rock history: OK Computer.

    Radiohead rocks!

  • simply amazing. I love Radiohead so so sooooo much!! jonny was rock'n OUT!

  • Flawless

  • Great ...

But really miss the grand piano it adds so much.

  • Best band in the world.

  • Karma Police... arrest Letterman...

  • As always, Brilliant! They never let you down...

  • I kind of like this better than the studio version.

  • I love it when they use the Rhodes... such a beautiful sound!

  • COOL

  • GREAT SONG

  • COOL SONG

  • dnt get much better does it

  • Id like to know what kinda shampoo Johnny uses...

  • wow thom is a hobbit compared to Ed

  • BRILLANT!!!

  • yorke is one talented little man

one of the best, most beautiful songs ever

  • An absolutely lovely song. They are so damn good live! I love this band.

  • I think Thom was much more concerned about singing the songs accurately and well back in the day. It seems his live performances are a little weaker nowadays.

  • oh babes

  • it's weird watching just this after watching "meeting people is easy." i expect it to cut to that little room with the crappy tv at any minute.

  • It's great to see a relatively young Radiohead, playing one of the best songs to have ever come out, off of the greatest "album ever;" and see where they are today. Still setting the mark for all other bands to follow.

  • watching these guys perform is crazy its like Thom is in a different world i wonder what goes on in his head. anyways there great live unlike some bands keep rocking radiohead!

  • Bellissimo. Thank you for posting

  • beautiful live version!

  • i love this version with the piano sounding differently

  • i want the rickenbacker...

  • Radiohead originally put this song into OK computer as a light hearted one, kind of a joke to lighten up the darkened mood of the middle of the album but I still think its without doubt one of the best songs in their repitroire, and my favourite.

  • radiohead is a really good band but if it came to choose radiohead and muse wat would u guys pick can i get answers plz

  • I like this version. The piano give it a bittersweet sound to it. Not better than the original though.

  • this is one of the greatest songs ever!!!!!!!!

    amazingly perfect...

  • 3.51 pheuww how did he did that?

  • radioheadmagic?

  • with tremelo and feedback homie, well thats what it sounds like, im sure im wrong

  • analog system just doing whack shit

  • if you're talking about the noise at the end its something to do with delay. Otherwise nfi :D

  • it might be this vintage effect box called "space echo" ?

  • the synhs??

  • It's just a delay tweak. If you have a delay pedal with the feedback turned up, and then you tweak the Time control while a signal is going through it, it's warps the audio (making that sound).

  • That was awesome huh

  • i dont know how did he did that either did. magic i suppose.

  • if you are talking about the swirling sound its a guitar delay pedal that ed has on a rack mount. he turns the time on the delay up so that the repeats become closer together, hence the swirling sound

  • It's a Line 6 delay pedal! :) I have one. Usually it just echoes the notes you play, but if you twist the knobs, it makes that sound.

  • combination of super shifter boss pedal and a giga delay pedal in the "twist" setting

  • In Meeting people is easy, you can see Thom was angry because they had twenty minutes to practice the song but they didn't let him five minutes to tune his guitar and after all the performance was brilliant

  • that kind of sucks, because of this it sounds like some half assed cover band - the only thing that feels right are thom's vocals and the drums

  • Well Jonny was originally the keyboardist of the band. But he can play practically every instrument...

  • he actually joined the band as the harmonica player... but he can and does do it all

  • Actually is the original harmonica player, believe it or not.

  • johnnys amazing, but i wouldve preferred the sound of a regular piano as opposed to the electric keyboard

  • No Jonny was originally the harmonica player you fool.

  • He originally came on to band as a harmonica player

    haha, imagine that

  • really?? Wow... he's very talented ^_^

and that might be an understatement lol

  • they're all amazing. True musicians. Thom even plays drums in bangers and mash.

  • ORIGINALLY the pianist? no he wasn't, he was ORIGINALLY chosen as they needed a guitarist - quickly promoted to Lead guitarist and classiclly trained so just played everything

  • if he can play the guitar then he can play the piano

  • Dig the Rhodes! Is that Johnny playing keys?
