  • i like this :)

  • pure class!!!

  • by the way - love the bike!

  • Love that sound!

  • My dad had one just like this when I just a kid.

  • The only Blue 650 Lightning a 1970, which had Chrome Front & Rear Fenders. This bike has a 1970 Front/Brake Hub Assy. It has the wrong seat and was never Blue unless it was a 1970 U.S. Model Year. There are too many british bike abortions that represented as either original or completely misrepresented. Do your Homework.

  • @enlighten650

you are one sad chap. I have a 68' lightning, it should be red with chome fenders - it isn't, most people have that original scheme and they all look the same, so mine is blue, it has high rise bars on a UK bike, twin horns for a 1970 with 1970 type TLS. oh- my fenders are currently painted.

Its down to peoples choice of how they want their bike to look, if you like it - pay a compliment, if you don't, walk on by. or better still F Off.

  • @allcylinders Youre the sad chap & an asshole. Enlighten happens to be right; Cowboy happens to be an idiot along w/ you. Neither of you know BSA's obviously, this is a "frankenstein" bike, put together from discarded parts or because the dope couldnt find the correct ones, the '68 & '70 model years have specific differences & theyre significant because the Lightning model was further being refined. BSA is gone nearly 40 years, anyone who feels they need to customize one now is a moron, period.

  • Nice indeed

  • b.s.a bits stuck anywhere

  • This is the model bike Hunter S Thompson rode when he rode with the Hell's Angels

  • In my opinion , japanese bike is well easy to maintain and reliable . But you cannot compare with the BSA .

I own and Kawasaki 2008 Meanstreak. Susuzki GS 500. And Honda CBR RR.

My 1968 Bsa 650 still my number one choice!!!!

  • BSA rocks

  • schoenes ding, hab ne 64er A65 rocket. war 5 jahre in stuttgart hab deine kiste leider nie jesehn! bist du in winnada? gruss!

  • winnada ;o)?

wiesibada ... a65 rocket, auch sehr nett! definitiv!

    grüße back

  • ja richtig, auweia! WI mit WN verwechselt. wenn ich das naechste ma in Hesse bin, halt ich die augen und ohren offen!

  • Nothing else like it. Just brilliant.

  • very classic black and chrome scheme - bar end signals -BSA idles like nothing else

  • nice tickover mate

  • ive got the same bike - 1968 thunderbolt 650 - best ever made

  • @eddietwang But boring to look at!!

  • Wow that is good stuff. I ran a 69 Thunderbolt for the last half of the eighties in Canada. Mine was a bit of a rat by then I'm afraid. I wish I had it now when I can afford to rebuild it. lol

Well done man. It's a beautiful example of the breed.

  • Thank you ;o)!!!

  • @calineophyte Sorry, but this video shows an INCORRECT example, this bike is neither a 1968 nor a 1970....as a matter of fact this guy probably couldnt afford either a Goldstar or an R69, so he came up with this boloney BSA....

  • sounds healthy, you have it going well.

  • Sehr schön!!! Danke fürs video...

  • oh we know what you been doing by the looks of the bluing on the exhaust pmsl excellent vid could play that over and over and over.

  • yeah but they're all right-side drive ;)

  • Luurve it, would love to have a bike like this but don't have the mechanical know how :(

  • nice lightening,i used to have a lightening chop in the early 80s in england, lovey old motors,it takes me back to good days listening to youre bike ticking over..all the best kooger

  • Wow. Just amazing

  • I'm a little confused....

All lightnings produced were Red. Fenders and everything. All Thunderbolts were Blue Fenders and everything except for the California Thunderbolts ones which were Black with chrome fenders like yours. Did you change the color?

  • Yes, i did! The original colour was blue ;o).

  • how do you find the goldie pipes? i have heard they cut rpm drop off range down to about 6.5/7 thousdand rpm

    however lovely bike

  • Great bike, love the old british bike [I was born in machester England} but I have never owned a Bsa or a triumph....I think the day is coming!, haven't riden a bike for many years but it would be worth it just to look at!

  • i am putting a 68 lightning together,thank you for the inspiration.

  • Sweet sounding engine. How long will it last between rebuilds, assuming the oil is changed regularly and the valve seats are hardened for unleaded petrol ?

  • Hi, yes she sounds good. Thank you very much. The rebuild will last 4 months. Look for a libery picture at the ace cafe london. Many greetings ...

  • loving it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice, nice, nice!

  • excellent

i had one of those once, a US export model in red

only british bike i ever managed a wheelie with

    great in the london traffic

  • I've been out on an A10 today followed by a run on a superb red spitfire.Neither could I imagine Wheelstanding!

However as a young man I unpacked a "Jubilee Special" Bonneville. oiled and aired it etc then popped a long wheelie most of the way up the Terrace, Wellington NZ.

Also spent time a s acourier in London - on a $stroke Kawasaki 400.Ideal, it had a counter-balanced motor to mooth out vibration. And a disc up front, a
