@mickigoe - did I actually say that? Must have had a few beers! Fair comment, it is a novelty record but hey, if you have such great taste what are you doing here slumming with us imbeciles anyway? Perhaps you're researching for a book on musical snobbery through the ages. No offence :)
@harveyoscar1 "How can anyone not love this" , you ask. Well , anyone with a modicum of musical taste , for a start. This is music for imbeciles , innit ?
How is brndan gay you sap? No,he's not! He's the soundest man ya'll meet,I often helped him on the farm,was driving his O&K digger the other day.He'd let ya drive anything,decent ould skin!
I dont have a problem with Shine I seen him many a times in concert I think hes a legend in country music how ever if someone makes smart remarks about him they deserve to be dissed.
I found this annoying when I was young but love it now, it's so catchy, and who couldn't love hearing good old Uncle Gabriel 'hey-ho ing' and 'hupping' in the background. It all seem so innocent now and it's not THAT long ago. Aw shucks . . . :)
Great to hear this fun song again....I think that until now, the only version I had ever heard was by Frank Carson. I have a Frank Carson CD somewhere in my collection....and this song is on it.
Great to hear Brendan Shine singing it....I think I enjoy both the versions I have now heard.
When does his new album and Single Where did you Meet Her Come out on sale

Good song, I just wish Gay would shut up. So is it a euphamism for oral then or what?

Im afraid to tell yuo bredan is not gay, he has a wife and kids and is my mate so shutup you heartless coward!
SarahAndLouiggi 2 years ago
@SarahAndLouiggi
When people are on about gay, they're referring to Gay Byrne, the presenter of the Late Late Show who is dancing around the screen here.
What stone have you been under to never have heard of him? Gay Byrne is a national treasure!
