@ShantyIrishman I'm mexican, i have been 3 times in the US (2 times i was heading to other country but had to pass through Atlanta to take the 2nd flight, 1 time i went to visit family) and its extremely difficult to get the VISA and in the airport i almost loose mi other flight because the god damn police officers didn't want to let me go at every check point/aduana i passed. I just god damn difficult for a mexican to travel legally to USA (and i'm middle-upper class, imagine a poor guy)

I've always wondered... If we had a large number of, say, German immigrants who came to this country illegally and spoke only German, and whole cities, and parts of cities were predominantly German, and German descended, would we "Good ole White Americans" bitch nearly as much?

Illegal immigration lowers the cost of american living. It lowers the cost of building houses, packing meat (yes the meat packing industry, one of the most dangerous jobs in the US is largely made up of illegal immigrant workers), operating farms, the list goes on. Because of the illegal immigration workforce, we are able to buy cheaper houses, food, and overall live a cheaper and sometimes better life. Just my take...

The one thing that irks me about this illegal immigration is the loss of English as the standard language in America. Everything is Bilingual or being pushed to to become bilingual. Some of P&T's videos are awesome. But some are crazy. The issue is simple: Are we better off with illegals or without them? Obviously farmers, meatpackers and construction companies are better off with cheap illegal labor. But the rest of us pay higher taxes and end up with higher crime and bad schools. Then if you need to pay for medical expenses for vaccinations and such it can be quite expensive. Not to mention take an average of eight years. If you go through the process, without using an immigration lawyer, it costs $1700 to submit all of the forms (this is a fixed INS fee, depending on which forms are needed. In my case, married to a US citizen). If there is the slightest discrepency in the forms or more information is needed, then it could easily involve having to hire a lawyer.There is the, at least 6 month waiting period, unable to work, being processed

I just god damn difficult for a mexican to travel legally to USA (and i'm middle-upper class, imagine a poor guy)

It lowers the cost of building houses, packing meat (yes the meat packing industry, one of the most dangerous jobs in the US is largely made up of illegal immigrant workers), operating farms, the list goes on. @jediphoenix My father entered this country illegally during the Reagan years, and I'm lucky he did (Reagan signed the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, granting amnesty to many undocumented workers and allowing their close relatives to enter the U.S. legally). I understand the struggles immigrants go through, but I also respect the right of every country to enforce its immigration laws.

Take into account, however, that undocumented immigrants also contribute to the country's workforce through cheap labor, allowing American citizens to enjoy cheaper prices for goods and services. Undocumented immigrants also pay taxes (at least sales taxes), and many even pay Social Security tax, although they cannot enjoy the benefits.

Money which many foreigners don't have and isn't feasibly attainable in their home countries. Second, there is a long line of people ahead of them. Their children need to eat now, not later. For these reasons, many immigrants risk their lives while crossing the border. Put yourself in that situation. Wouldn't you do the same?

Some of P&T's videos are awesome. But some are crazy. The issue is simple: Are we better off with illegals or without them? Obviously farmers, meatpackers and construction companies are better off with cheap illegal labor. But the rest of us pay higher taxes and end up with higher crime and bad schools. California used to be the best state in the US. Now, its one of the worst. I used to live there until it become 3rd world. Unless one is rich its not worth living there anymore.

I love P&T, but I really didn't like this episode. I am in full support of immigration, but I STILL believe that we need a secure border to keep out the drug traffickers, rapists, and other various criminals. I believe that we should make it easier for immigrants to enter this country, but in my opinion, amnesty, and open borders are not the answer. They failed to elaborate on anti-amnesty and seemed to base most of it on racism, which isn't fair.

@GoggledSniper Actually not true, It can cost several hundred dollars to get a greencard and that is assuming that the government doesn't protest the application. Then if you need to pay for medical expenses for vaccinations and such it can be quite expensive. Not to mention take an average of eight years. Also your argument of being able to steal is kind of irrelevant because they don't steal anything. They contribute to a workforce.

@GoggledSniper It does cost money to submit the forms for a Green Card. If you go through the process, without using an immigration lawyer, it costs $1700 to submit all of the forms (this is a fixed INS fee, depending on which forms are needed. In my case, married to a US citizen). If there is the slightest discrepency in the forms or more information is needed, then it could easily involve having to hire a lawyer.There is the, at least 6 month waiting period, unable to work, being processed
