  • dude dont be lying. it was impossible to bring a knife into astroworld or any sixflags you have to go through a metal detector and they searched your bags. they got uptight about wallet chains and studded belts.

  • Ok to clear any confusion on why AW really closed I have the insight... Reliant stadium wouldn't continue leasing the parking lot to Six Flags because they felt it unnecessary to do so.. Six Flags had no other choice but to close.. No parking= No customers.

  • Six Flags was in debt. To get out of debt the corporate Six Flags idiots, NOT the local ones running Astroworld, decided they could make trillions of dollars by selling the land and therefore help out their debt. So they bulldozed the park and have yet to sell the land.....

  • well to me astro world i dint care to much i only got on one ride win astro world was in houston

  • Was that a real commercial?

  • i must say, this video fails.

I dont really like dying at theme parks.

  • tha was uh...odd

  • dats freakin awesome

  • that was really creepy

  • actually someone did die on the texas tornado ( the ride thats being showed in this video) one of the many reasons why this ride was removed from astroworld.

  • who died and how did they?

  • some guy around his mid 40's... because this ride had so many g's he passed out from them and his heart stopped.

  • no buddy ur wrong. there werent deaths but very huge severly injurys there thats why its destroyed

  • this is so fake

  • they weren't bankrupt.

  • they werent bankrupt.

they just sold the park because they didnt have enough people coming, and they were losing money.

but the people who made the decision were fired the next day. :)

  • Yeah, same thing happened with my home park "Geauga Lake". Sixflags bought it in 2000, and sold it for a lot of money to Cedar Fair, (Owner of Cedar Point). Nobody was coming to the park, so Cedar Fair couldnt make a profit, and it closed. Now I have to travel 2 hours to cedar point instead of 45 minutes to GL. So six flags pretty much caused Geauga Lake to close. I hate SIXFLAGS

  • um I think Six Flags didn't destroy it, in fact they saved the seaworld part of the park. Their pistake was trying to make a park to rival ceder point[ hense all the new coasters], thne when they saw it wasn't going to happen they decided it would be a good ide to get rid of the park now while it was making some profit. Then ceder fair came in, removed the sea world part and put in a newer water park and closed the old one. Then they didn't get the attendance they wanted and closed the ride side

  • they didn't get the attendance because they didn't put in any new coasters and they even removed 2 of the more popular ride to make things worse. Now all that remines is some of the woodies from the park and the still open water park.. Now I never visited the ride portion of the park, but went to sea world in the late 1990's and remember having a blast. Also I remember seeing the park from across the lake and really wishing to visit it someday, but of coarse I forgot about it.

  • and of coarse I never got to go and hate that fact and will hate it forever, but I think six flags improved the park and made it awesome. I f ceder fair countrified with the oath of six flags in adding coasters and having the animal attractions it would still be here today.

  • thats kind of like me with astroworld, because I went to houston twice in 04' and saw astroworld while i was outside of reliant stadium. I wanted to go, but I never go to and then it closed :( . Im serious, true story.

  • i to, hate six flags, the destroyed geauga lake by over building. SIX FLAGS SUCKS

  • hahaha Tree Hugger... bet you donbt like libraries either because theres too many dead trees with words printed on them inside! lol XD

  • No it was that some dude that worked for the company said it would be better if they shut down That they were going bankrupt. Turns out they werent but it was already too late. Some dude lied for god knows why. That loser

  • someone died on that ride!?:(

    that's sad.

i rode that. it was awesome!

  • The reason the Houston Astroworld closed down was because of budget problems, not because someone died. They were falling behind on ride maintance and they decided to subtract budget away from security to fix them. Then all the little gang thugs in Houston decided to start claiming area's in Astroworld as their chill spots. I remember last time I went to the houston one there was a little posse of young kids all wearing red chilling at the grease lighting calling everyone fagots when they walkby

  • @mszapalac The company of six flags actually closed Astroworld because they had a lease on a spot for another park in Louisiana. Then Katrina happened and since they were under that lease, they had to pay to fix it, so they decided to tear down Astroworld to help with the money problem.

  • @mszapalac yeh i remeber those little punks one of them pushed me and i punched him and he pulled out a knife good thing im a black belt in cambodian ju jitsu

  • @mszapalac No, Astroworld closed because the well-educated, corporate dummies thought they could relieve a portion of Six Flags incredible debt load by selling Astroworld as well as several other Six Flags properties. So, they destroyed Astroworld and, I believe, have not yet sold the land! This is another example of the severe mis-management of Six Flags. The parking lot, thugs, baby-sitting, condition of the park, were all factors, but not a main reason for Astroworld's senseless demise.

  • ok? if that wasnt for halloween than that was freaky

  • Uh...no. Houston is getting a park called "Earth Quest Adventures" near Humble (deep in the woods). It will total 1,500 acres and include a waterpark, theme park (300 acres), resort hotel, and golf course. Then you have Ski Houston (indoor ski resort) near Earth Quest, too. Look up on it.

  • i heard about that....is that the proposed dinosaur park?

  • No one died at Astro World, omg, really? NO ONE FREAKIN' DIED! Six Flags is just cheap. And now all Houston has is fucking SplashTown..

  • this video is pretty trippy 2 say da least

  • this scared me

  • whoa i think i went there the last year it was open! i never even knew it closed cuz i moved to stupid wisconsin....

  • Yeah they got rid of this before I ever rode it. Somebody died apparently.

  • Haha, the funny thing is that someone actually died on that coaster! They tore it down and put the fly swatter thing there!

    I miss Astro World...

  • And a few months ago a girl had her feet severed.

  • How the hell is that funny TehDust? A friend of mine knew the person that died on that ride you asshole!!

  • The irony of the ad is what is funny, not the death.

  • Well yeah, I guess you're right. It is pretty ironic, isn't it?

  • i didnt like the pics that interruted it.

  • lol they never had that it was more like an old man dancing with people around him it was a funny commercial but this commercail is fake

  • lol u cant even go there! they closed it. :(

  • Naw I thought it was still open...I miss Astroworld so much, may you Rest In Peace.

  • they closed it like 4 years ago where have u been??

  • Is that an actual commercial?

  • ok im never going thewre

  • good commercial telling that they will die if they come rofl

  • lol... you will die.... at astroworld

  • after i would watch that on tv i would never go back again

  • Just scary ad out in my coaster freak life.

  • gay

  • where did you get that video from the texas cyclone?

  • skatewalking is the future....
