My best friend just left. He is pretty much (or at least was) a Bush supporter and ditto head (maybe former on that too; he really doesn't bring up politics much anymore) But, I did try to give him a tape of Bill Moyers Journals last week. Both, Buying the War and Friday's interview with Jon Stewart. He wasn't interested.
What is kinda sad to me is that Viacom is now very diligent in keeping any Comedy Central clips off YouTube. Jon Stewart in his comedic way is very effective in exposing the "lunacy"(i'm sure there is a better word) of this administration. Those clips were great; they distilled down concisely what was/is going on in a manner that couldn't be ignored.
Biden and McCain are the only two candidates with any real policy or leadership on Iraq. Period. The rest are waiting to see what will get them elected first.
Wow Bossa, I agree. You're the first person that I have found to feel this way about both of these senators. While I lean heavy towards the liberal side of issues I deeply respect McCain (read Faith of My Fathers). I have been a fan of both before 2000 primaries. Wanted John to win the GOP then and had wished Joe would consider entering. I think McCain is now hamstrung by his party's/Bush's legacy, and can't say what he needs to without alienating himself.
I have been a fan of Biden for at least 7 years now(whenever it was I first heard one of his impassioned oratories on the floor of the Senate)(I can be a cspan junkie). I agree what you say about the "rest". They seemed to be just holding up their fingers to the wind. Maybe I am not digging deep enough yet, but I haven't heard anyone else suggesting real solutions to this crisis. BTW, why are all these clips just a few secs to a couple minutes long?
Yeah, its sad that Bush and the evil neo-con empire submarined McCain's campaign for GOP 2000. We'd be far better off with Gore or McCain running the show the past 6 years - that much is self-evident. Its sad that a candidate has to create this big of a dookie in the world in order for some of his own party to start recognizing his incompetence. Its sad its taken so long.
Its sad, but Bush screwed McCain in 2000, and he'll do it again in 2008. Its so sad McCain has to be handcuffed to that bozo. I'm not a Hillary fan, but I'm a big Biden fan, and there are some other good Dem candidates, so we'll see what happens. I just see Hillary as somebody who would backstab her own mother to gain 1% in the polls.
Yeah, your talking about that Karl Rove campaign ad tatic of subltly suggesting McCain had an illegitimate child and also questioning his mental/emotional state because of his stay at the Hanoi Hilton. Ironic that being an unquestionable war hero hurt him in the primaries.

I'm not sure - probably posted by Biden supporters trying to flood the initial video selection window with positive vids.
