Boris, I had a torn meniscus surgery, and as you probably know i have hard time bending my leg my knee feels weird and it hurts. Would massage therapy help me in any way? Thank you. By the way your videos are great, it is easy to notice high level of professionalism!! Good Luck
@B0SKE First of all I’d like to wish you fast and complete post surgical recovery and thank you very much for kind words in regards to my work. At 3:23 of this video you find links to videos, where I am explaining and demonstrating necessity of adequate post surgical rehabilitation. This way it is much easier to offer more extended explanation. Yes, massage therapy, and in some cases, self-massage therapy and exercise program can help you a lot. to be continued...
@B0SKE Another link shows my self-“leg and knee” massage and exercise program. Please consult your doctors if all proposed techniques could be applied. Also keep in mind that only orthopedic surgeon can determine whether the full protocol could be applied. But as I am explaining in the video, in order to stimulate the healing process, one can apply lymph drainage technique on operated knee as well as to perform massage on a healthy leg. To be continued...
@B0SKE All this in details I am explaining in these videos. Also let’s keep in mind that knee should be viewed as multi-anatomical component structure, and regardless of what was the target of a surgery: ligaments, tendons, meniscus, etc, or which anatomical component was traumatized more as a result of sprain/strain injury, the entire knee region, including muscular structure, must be addressed.
@vinnybless it is not contraindicated to massage under knee area. just not to apply excessive pressure on lymph nodes located under knee , as well to doublecheck if area free of cystic formation. often baker cyst can be formed under/behind knee . In such a case we should avoid to massage this area. In many cases to massage armpit is a part of protocol, including when we are addressing periarticular fibrous tissues in cases of frozen shoulder.
@wrecmom Thanks for replying and for :great work”. would like to recommend to subscribe to my account, in such a case you will receive notification, when knee exercise program will be uploaded.

I began playing school football in 2006, and am entering my last year of varsity ball. For years my knees have been feeling weak and painful under strenuous exercise. What do you recommend? Thank you very much!
@billsfan313 any competitive sport demanding vigorous exercise which having side effects such as tensions within muscles, fascia, leading to bio mechanical disturbances and more. All mentioned above side effects is a preconditions for sport related injuries,as well reducing performances. Please view my self treatment clips, that proposing self massage, hot and cold applications, exercise program.all techniques is equally beneficial for management and prevention.Best wishes.Boris
Just wanted to say that i recently began working out about 6mths. ago, and a month into it, i noticed that my knee began to ache, and swell, to the point where i couldn't do ANY floor exercises. I've been having my husband try the knee massage on me after every workout, and my pain has decreased immensely. Although, it still bothers me from time to time, it's not as bad as it was. I believe that i may have tendonitis, are there non-surgical treatments for this if i do?
@MizzHendrix it is always good to consultant Dr. It is possible that you have developed tendinitis, which is treatable conditions, by massage, lymph drainage techniques to reduce swallowing ,ice massage etc. all this techniques and more I am proposing on my self treatment DVD#5 as well on instructional DVD#9. Like I stated tendinitis have no indication for surgery . Therefore just to continue management of this condition to prevent re-injury that can lead to worse.
@mgaft1 Thanks for the reply! I believe you may be right, and i've scheduled an appointment with my doctor. I appreciate you taking the time out to reply to me, and give me the information that i needed. Keep up the good work, and i'll keep watching!
about 6/7 months ago i broke the bone on my tibia that my acl is attached to but scar tissue keeps growing back to quickly for me to get the knee bending i.e meaning i cant bend my leg due to the scar tissue blocking the bend have you got any tips to help the knee loosen up
i have pain in my right knee.i din't fallr anything,9months before i just felt pain while i was sleeping, was able to bend.i live in a cold country, its like 8months cold and sometime temp went to -30 even.
i went to arthopedic he said ligament is mal-aligned,should just do rest.
i went on medication too.
still feel pain and when i step on stairs and step off it aches.
Hi Boris - I dislocated my left patella some three years ago - it still aches a fair bit and generally feels a little week. Would you recommend this medical massage to help reduce the aching or would a different technique be appropriate? Thank you for your ongoing video uploads; they are very informative and helpful! Best wishes, James.
@jamesbevis2 three years it's kind of longtime. Usually better to start address it like 72 hours after injury. In such a case a lot more can be done including management of scar tissue formations. Having said it you need to address it to slow down developments of post injury degenerative changes.part of the treatment directed to stimulate local metabolism which will decrease pain sensation and will restore muscular insufficiency. In any case I would recommend to see a doctor for examination.

My mom has alot of pain in her left knee. She stands for 5-6 hours when she works, sits of and on. The pain started 4 months ago. The pain runs from base of her foot to top of her hip. Its sharp pain on the lateral side of her leg. It hurts when she sits and stands. When she bends her leg, she's in alot of pain.
I did pressure points surrounding her left knee cap and it's painful. Can you please let me know what she might have and what techniques I can do to help her?
I first want to tell you I am a big fan of your videos, you do excellent work! I have been having pain in my left knee for the past few weeks. The pain has been on the outside of the knee. It first started when I went hiking. I exercise everyday and jog a few days a week. I have been feeling alot of pain each time I jog, like alot of pressure on the outside of my knee. What could be the problem?
For the past 6 months i am suffering with severe knee pain ....i used to do lots of exercise every day .....each day i used to do 300 skipping on hard floor....i think taht may be the cause for the knee pain....presently i am feeling pain even while walking....kindly help me out ....thank you.
Hello...I have had problems for a lot of years with my knees. During and after sports it feels as though my knee is full of glue as the joint feels stiff and numb..it is not particulary painful but my range of motion is reduced and movement is much slower. These problems started nearly 15 yrs ago and I am now nearly 30 do you have any ideas what could be causing it?
In my opinion you must to address this problem because as you can see it doesn't get better but can get worse. Check with your doctor, and if OK start performing self techniques as I proposed in my DVD#5 including exercise, as well as always perform appropriate warm up routine as I proposed in my DVD number 7. For details, please, view my youtube clips or visit my website.
I think i run awkwardly and whenever I run a few miles in a row, my knees starting hurting the next day. It feels like they lose their spring characteristic and I feel like I can't run as fast. Can you tell me what I can do about it?
i am14 years old and i have to get my bursa sac removed from my hip and knee. should i go to a chiropractor or massage theripist to get it massaged to make it feel better. but of course after all the stiches are out
Probably Dr. have good reasons for mentioned surgery. therefore you will have to follow post surgical instructions of your doctor. in general it is very important to receive post surgical rehabilitation that including edema management, scar tissue management and more.
Dear Mr.Boris, I have a question regarding the knee.. About 2 months ago i suffered a tear in my Posterior cruciate ligament(PCL) while playing football. My leg was placed in a cast for 5 weeks and after that, the ortho doctor told that it had healed and I regained most of the motion in the knee...But when i turn my knee to a particular side it gives me some discomfort and causes some pain. Is there any self therapy for this... What could be the causeof the same..
Respectfully disagree with statement of your ortho doctor regarding that you are healed. if sprain/ strain was so significant that coused to ligament tear than all structure was traumatized. after injury like this you need real comprehensive rehabilitation. I have posted around 15 clips on self management of sports related injuries. please view them and you will understand alot. material presented on DVD #5 can be extremely beneficial for you.
First of, your question should be directed to Boris Prilutsky who is the master therapist. I am just the person who maintains this site. Having said that, Boris did and does treat many famous people including famous athletes, politicians, movie stars, etc. He cannot talk about this openly because of the client-therapist agreement. However, one of our clips is a testimony of ex-Mr. Universe - Dennis Tinerino. You're welcome to view this clip.
Recently I have been suffering pain in both knees when I bend down and straighten back up again. It also happens periodically when I climb stairs. Any ideas what it could be?
you're experiencing pain when skeleton muscular components under load.most likely and probably some group of muscles demonstrating unsufficiency, contributing to unstability of knee joint, compensatory movement and more.please view my youtube sports injurie clips where I explaine on this phenomenon. soon will be available my self treatment DVDs on the subject.very easy to learn, safe and helpful.subscribe to our account to be notified.
talk to a doctor, not a therapist... could be any large number of problems from arthritis to pinched nerves. based on that prognosis, then talk to a therapist if advised it could help
I appreciate your comments and agree that in any health compromising case people should consultant with Dr. In cases of pinched nerves, pain will persist constantly. As kanyewes05 described his symptoms, this is not a case of neurological pain. The problem is that many doctors in similar cases will prescribe cortisone shots and/or pain killers and/or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication. In some cases this medication is important, but in many cases should be avoided
and cannot be the only and main treatment of conditions such as arthritis, tendinitis and others. Inhibition of pain is only a partial goal of rehabilitation. In order to avoid complications as well to slow down degenerative changes patient have to get rid higher resting muscles tone, trigger points, make regions stronger, to teach muscles to work in assembly and more. To achieve mentioned above goals one have to receive at least 15 multiple modality treatments.
Just came across these videos and quickly subscribed to the channel. Boris, you rock! You break it down and explain it so it all makes so much logical sense. I kept finding myself saying.. well that makes a lot of sense... yeah ... that makes sense... oh I get it now, that makes sense. LOL Thank you for sharing your information with everyone.
Thank you very much for kind and supportive words. Comments like yours motivate me to produce and upload more of my works. Please expect more uploads in the next few weeks.
Dear Boris, This particular video told me something I didn't know about foot/ankle pain... that it can start from the lower back. I cannot thank you enough for all the help you have given me and my best friend. You have helped my best friend to be able to hold a pen again ! ! ! Thank you so very much.
I believe that there is no words to describe how I feel when I receiving comments like yours. Thank you very much. it is great deal of privilege to be practitioner and the educator. I always realize this privilege when my clients and/or students rewarding me with this kind of words. thanks again.
sometimess in the morning after i wake up, my right knee on the inside is tender and sore, but after i get out bed and take a shower and start my day, the pain goes away.. any ideals what is wrong with my knee
Pain "reports" about a problem that has to be addressed better sooner than later. It can develop in complications such as tears, disproportional development of osteoarthritis and more. As described your symptoms could mean an initiation of tensor fascia latae muscle syndrome development, lower back disorder, tendinitis of tendons in region, meniscus problems, bursitis. They could also be due to excessive accumulation of tension within neighboring muscles and fascia.
In this case youre experiencing developing of mayofacial pain. The best is to be examined by a physician. This way other diseases producing the same symptoms could be excluded. Soon there will be available my self treatment DVD where by explanation and hands-on demonstration I am covering in fine details protocols for this mention disorders. The DVD material presented in a simple way everyone can study how to do it by oneself.
I hope you feeling better after the surgery. From my experience special medical massage must be incorporated for scar tissue management, stimulation of diffusion processes within ligaments as well other connective tissue. For detailed explanation please view my sports injuries clips 1-4. Get well fast but complete rehabilitation.
In most cases pain as you described are results of patellaral tendinitis and/or mayosaitis and/or mayofacialDysfunction or not well managed scar tissue.massage as was proposed by a Russian physician Antoli Sherback contain muscles-facial release techniques, trigger point therapy and more. this techniques directed to treat causes of pain and to restore normal function.soon will be available my self knee treatment DVD.this self techniques could be very effective
Hi Boris. I have uric acid build-up in my left knee, and I massage aound the knee especially at the sides, then drain above the knee where the swelling is. It does relieve the pain and minimizes the swelling, and I tend to urinate frequently (darker than normal). How long should I do the massage and how frequent in a day? Thanks. Your videos are indeed very helpful, and I use them as reference for my practice.
higher than normal level of uric acid can cause side effect like painful jointinflammation ,crystallization deposit of uric acid on soft tissue.treatment depend on the real condition that should be diagnose by physician who usually utilize radiological examinations, blood test and more. I hope you sow physician.if I'll know more details probably would be able to advice.soon will be available my self comprehensive knee treatment
Thanks for the reply. Yes I regularly see my urologist, also already had shockwave treatment for kidney stone last year. My urine color has already "cleared" again, and the pain is down to a more tolerable level, more of just "uncomfortable" dull feeling but could not bend yet as before. But I could not stand for long. Thanks again and more power.
obviously self treatment helping you. very happy for you. on my self treatment DVD I proposed comprehensive treatment for a knee disorders include special exercise. soon this DVD will be available for public. may be if you will learn and utilize this techniques you will progress with results.
Very informative video and cool accent dude

Dear Mr.Boris, I have a question regarding the knee.. About 2 months ago i suffered a tear in my Posterior cruciate ligament(PCL) while playing football. My leg was placed in a cast for 5 weeks and after that, the ortho doctor told that it had healed and I regained most of the motion in the knee...But when i turn my knee to a particular side it gives me some discomfort and causes some pain. Is there any self therapy for this... What could be the causeof the same..
kingmakerbull 2 years ago
Dear kingmakerbull ,
Respectfully disagree with statement of your ortho doctor regarding that you are healed. if sprain/ strain was so significant that coused to ligament tear than all structure was traumatized. after injury like this you need real comprehensive rehabilitation. I have posted around 15 clips on self management of sports related injuries. please view them and you will understand alot. material presented on DVD #5 can be extremely beneficial for you.
Best wishes.

dear mgaft1 Do you have any famous clients?
Tbizzle58 3 years ago
Dear Tbizzle58,
First of, your question should be directed to Boris Prilutsky who is the master therapist.

Michael

talk to a doctor, not a therapist... could be any large number of problems from arthritis to pinched nerves. based on that prognosis, then talk to a therapist if advised it could help
Blademasta989 3 years ago
Dear Blademasta989.

To achieve mentioned above goals one have to receive at least 15 multiple modality treatments.

sometimess in the morning after i wake up, my right knee on the inside is tender and sore, but after i get out bed and take a shower and start my day, the pain goes away.. any ideals what is wrong with my knee
blondekaylee22 3 years ago
Dear blondekaylee22,
Pain "reports" about a problem that has to be addressed better sooner than later.
