It made a MINIMAL difference. Grease or no grease: St. Pierre will out-wrestle Penn everytime. BJ is a great striker & great at BJJ, but nobody has ever been a threat to St. Pierre from their back. His "riddum" is insane. He takes people down at will. He passes guards like it's not even in his opponent's arsenal. St. Pierre's tactics are 2nd to none. He comes into every fight with a certain type of gameplan, & he executes those game-plans perfectly. You can't deny it: he dominated Penn, twice.

Penn is a great fighter, but he poked St. Pierre in the eye in the 1st round, so Georges wasn't the same fighter. He's even said he was seeing two Penn's for over 3 minutes as a result of the eye-poke. A damaged St. Pierre managed to survive & pull off the decision. Get over it... Penn is still a great fighter, one of the best, but he's nowhere near the caliber of St. Pierre.

Anyone who watches UFC on a regular basis know that fighters regularly get wiped down; in some cases before they enter the octagon. Because someone gets wiped down does no conclusively mean they are oiled. Remember, they are checked before stepping foot in the octagon and with officials surrounding him, I'm sure someone would have noticed him being slightly oiled because the get checked. They're most likely wiping water off as I've seen in almost all fights. Some people have too much free time!

It made a MINIMAL difference. Grease or no grease: St. Pierre will out-wrestle Penn everytime. BJ is a great striker & great at BJJ, but nobody has ever been a threat to St. Pierre from their back. His "riddum" is insane. He takes people down at will. He passes guards like it's not even in his opponent's arsenal. St. Pierre's tactics are 2nd to none. He comes into every fight with a certain type of gameplan, & he executes those game-plans perfectly. You can't deny it: he dominated Penn, twice.

Penn is a great fighter, but he poked St. Pierre in the eye in the 1st round, so Georges wasn't the same fighter. He's even said he was seeing two Penn's for over 3 minutes as a result of the eye-poke. A damaged St. Pierre managed to survive & pull off the decision. Get over it... Penn is still a great fighter, one of the best, but he's nowhere near the caliber of St. Pierre.

i think hardy did better than penn fitch alves kosh etc........ he wouldnt give up and he left without a scratch almost im sure his arms hurt like hell but he wasnt beated to a pulp like alves had 2 eyes almost swollen shut and penn was broken fitch well if you saw the fight youd know and kosch again was broken

Anyone who watches UFC on a regular basis know that fighters regularly get wiped down; in some cases before they enter the octagon. Because someone gets wiped down does no conclusively mean they are oiled. Remember, they are checked before stepping foot in the octagon and with officials surrounding him, I'm sure someone would have noticed him being slightly oiled because the get checked. They're most likely wiping water off as I've seen in almost all fights. Some people have too much free time!

Please, it's embarassing when people come and bitch about GSP cheating after he totally dominates them. They should show some class and humility in being defeated by a great champ and a superior athlete.

i know GSP is very good at it but still... hardy didnt even come close to defending ONE takedown. seemed like he didnt even know how to sprawl at times.

well kosh undefeated in wrestling in college couldnt stop gsp from taking him down at will, even hughs superhuman strength didnt allow him to stop gsp , fitch the same , and even bjs almost unhumanly possible takedown defense couldnt stop gsp from taking him down..... so to really tell you the truth if he did fight silva ....... silvas ground game isnt as good as bjs and isnt as good as gsps ..... and silva couldnt stop the takedown only chance silva would have is a quick tko/ko

yep scary thing is is gsp needs a breather he just takes them down and really only lets them back up if he gets bored or they get lucky enough to get back up on there own......... that makes him amazing not boring thats why im shocked of some of these comments
