Correction. He started fucking up his throat actually. So he's trying to take care of it better. He always tries/wants to scream live when it's really his part even though Corey is doing it, but he tries to stop himself because he doesn't want to mess it up any more. So he only screams in the studio. Which is good really because I don't think anyone wants Matt to fuck up his voice so bad that he can't scream in the studio anymore.
