  • You were hot before and you're hotter after. Are the titanium L plates permanent?

  • how much does this cost?

  • it looks like over time your bottom lip moved into better position with the top lip... is that the case or is it just my imagination? How did that happen?

  • So was it worth the hell? I had a jaw expander inserted to correct a crossbite. It had a little key at the top of my mouth that I had to turn to expand the jaw. Felt like I had been punched the face for 6 months.

In the end, a waste of money, time, and suffering complications.

  • Can you tell me how long your jaw was numb for? I am getting this surgery in a month and I want to estimate my recovery time.

  • @MrMusicboy92 Jaw was numb making it awkward to eat for the first 3 or 4 weeks but I could manage. All the numbing sensation wont go away for 6 months to 1 year. My chin in the very middle took the longest to become un-numb; 6 months to 1 year.

  • Great for you man! You look great now! Congrats!

  • Dude you Irish?? Good taste in music ;)

  • I was in the ICU for 3 days after my surgery and in the hospital for a week. My face was much more swollen than yours. I had palate advancement, lower jaw movement and they also implanted cheekbones and widened my nasal cavities. I still have 41 screws, 7 metal plates, and 2 plastic cheek bones. How many do you have?

  • im finished with my surgery and jaw lock for a while ago now. But guess what, after taking off my jaw lock, may jaw kind of slided back to almost the same positon that my jaw was before. The only diffrent was that my open bite was gone... It kind of suck, after all the pain and time that went to the surgery, and so little result....:( anyone else had the same way?

  • @MargitHjukse So you relapsed some? That happened to me a bit because I kept growing. They thought I would stop growing at 18 but being 21 years old tomorrow im still growing lol

  • @brendanb89 hmm, My lower jaw went a bit back after taking the jaw lock off. Dont think it got something with growing to do. (sorry, didnt quite understood you answer becouse of my low english skills)

  • soo kiss me i'm shitfaceeeddd

  • @mserinprice Haha should I take this literally? jk :)

  • @brendanb89 ha ha good song good song

  • @mserinprice Thanks, I thought it fit the mood well! Did you have the same surgery?

  • @brendanb89 i will be!!! you can see my vids :)

  • @mserinprice I checked the one you posted out, so their just splitting your upper jaw? And thanks for the "social network" update for the rest of the video lol

  • Your surgery went so well! It's been a month since mine and I feel like I lost most of my attractiveness. :/

  • @ninethreefivesix keep with it. You will be unsure with your new appearance and not confident right away. It gets better after time. 6 months is a good mark.

  • Hello. I had this done and I look hot now!!

  • hey i just did my surgery four days ago and im packing up and going home in a few hours! were you able to smile after four days' time? i can smile a little.. not too much. i just look fat right now heh :)

but is there a possible chance that oral surgeons making mistakes during an operation?

  • @jade12rei13 haha you did better than me. I could barely smile. If i did i felt like a creeper because it looked awkward.

  • @jade12rei13 I couldnt smile for atleast 4 weeks after with full control or more. Of course doctors make mistakes like anyone else but its normally rare. You will be fine, from what the doctor told me the impact and damage done to your jaw during the surgery is equivalent to a car crash above 40 mph

  • @brendanb89 hahah thanks. and thats true, my doctor actually made a mistake. i was right... the surgery just didnt feel right, so i got another surgery a week and half after the original surgery.

at least im standing and eating right now!

    40 mph? holy shit...

  • @jade12rei13 Well atleast everything was corrected. What was the problem after the 1st surgery?

  • @brendanb89 true... i had my upper jaw widened-there was a problem with fitting the splint so the doctor made another one several days after the surgery... but it was too late, my upper jaw narrowed again. thats what happened :P

  • @jade12rei13 Crazy, my doctor made a mistake too and I needed a second surgery. I had cheek-bone implants with it too and they are still misplaced with screws sticking out that you can feel. The doc tried to say that a muscle must have pulled the implant off a couple days after surgery, but I knew something was wrong right away.

  • hey,

My jaw and cheeks are too small for a girl and I can't notice my weight gain or loss by looking at my face, Its totally flat on the sides.. this is very depressing. so I donno whether I should undergo a sub-malar augmentation or a jaw augmentation or both :S :(

love your video.. its interesting :)

  • @lovinnia Thanks. Sorry about that. I hope if you do have surgery it does well and you can get the help you need.

  • how long were you in braces prior to the surgery?

  • @shweggo135 I was in for about a year I belieeve. However, i had braces 2 times before and each were for about 2 years. I knew I was going to ahve this since I was 7.

  • Hey! You look really gooood

    D:! But...What about exercise????

I will have that surgery, but...I won´t be able to do any exercise for at least 1 month right???.

  • @CristinaXLawliet thats corect, i didnt work out for about 6 months and it hurt my mentality more than anything because I got skinny and I was used to working out atleast 3 times a week. But you will be weak after the surgery and also not be taking in enough calories if your not eating solid food for working out to benefit you a lot.

  • hi

was it hard to have your mouth wired shut?

i have to get the same thing done in 1! months time and the idea of having my jaw wired shut is a little harsh...

    thx

  • Ya, it was tough. It was more frustrating because I felt helpless and sometimes it was hard to breath because I couldnt blow my nose for 6 weeks so it was clogged and hard to breath in general. Its tough but you will live.

  • thx, shit so you can't blow your nose either... man it's going to be some heavy shit

looks good on you anyway !

loking fowards to it being over and done with

  • My doctor said I couldnt bc of the pressure and all the stitches I had. Thats a good attitude, just know everyday things get better adn tough it out and you will be fine, its worth it in the end.

  • Did you have a Lefort I osteotomy?

  • congratulations, it looks really good, i'm getting this done in a couple months, so how bad is the pain? i'm assuming they gave you meds for the pain? what exactly did they give you? did they give you vicodin or what?

  • The pain was not that bad, it was more of an inconvenience than anything. They gave me Roxicet, it helped a lot but made you nauseous.

  • @brendanb89

i just did my surgery. it is a bitch. i just want to know the name of the song you are playing in the background. thanks

  • @sinbadsf Kiss me Im Shitfaced-Dropkick Murphys

  • Nice vid - thanks!

I love the Drop Kick Murphy's.

  • what size overbite if dont mind asking

  • @kmarkymark I dont remember exactly, I would have to look at my records. If you really want ot know I can get them and look?

  • @brendanb89 no thanks, only wondering anyway

  • Heya, will be having this surgery early next year with chin moved forward aswell, can't wait! too many years of being at the dentist haha, cheers for the vid! thinking about making something similar myself

  • Ay good luck!

  • do you have an overbite or underbite?

  • Had an overbite

  • oh ok, im suppose to be getting braces cus i got an overbite not to bad and a couple not to bad crucked teeth in like less then a month, but my mom said it was 3,000 when she paid for my brother-1,000 but anyways- i just wanted to know bu thanks. <3

  • does everyone need the surgery if they have an overbite, i mean mine isnt that bad but its over.

  • No, depends if its excessive or not.

  • OK , i'm from Colombia and I was in bimaxilar surgeon here it coasts like 7 million pesos (4000 USD) now i m complety well.,

  • Did surgery go well with no complications? Do you have insurance or how does Colombia insurance policies work? You got a hell of a deal ha

  • well i had a complication , it usually longs 3/ or 4 hours.,.but i had 6.. anyway after that my post was ok,.yes i have insurance.. when u have one no matter wich one.. it has to pay all the surgeon... the policies here about surgeons when they are functionalities must to be paid by the insurances.. when they are just stethics u have to pay them.

  • how much it cost?

  • About $30,000USD

  • OMG..... wow, you are rich kid

  • unless yo have inssurance:P

  • Gotta love my insurance

  • lol yuppp:P

  • Are you planning on having surgery?

  • cheah!

  • What are they working on? Just your jaw(s) or chin too?

  • Jaw+Chin+Cheaks

Or something like that>> its going to suck!:P but my face will look pretty:P

  • Cheeks? Ive never heard of that. What are they doing that for? oh im sure you look just fine now

  • I'm considering this surgery once I'm working again to correct my mild sleep apnea and also for aesthetic reasons. I'll need to get a second sleep study first to see if I notice a difference with the CPAP, and if I do, then the doc will consider the surgery. It will also help with my posture because now I just my head out instead of aligning my neck, and I'm starting to get back pain. Hoping I can actually afford this one day...

  • what happened 4 you to get the surgrey?

  • All of this was done to correct an overbite that I genetically received that could not be fully remedied through Orthodontic treatment and to prevent future consequences such as TMJ, Sleep Apnea, and many more...

  • oh wow

  • @brendanb89 What's TMJ?

  • what if you have to puke when your mouth is wired shut.

  • i didnt know guys cared about how they look

  • If you read under "more info" at the bottom it states this surgery was to correct an overbite that could case TMJ, Sleep Apnea, and other consequences in the future.

  • did you have to have an IV??

  • Of course

  • Hi there. I have this surgery coming up and was wondering how long it would be before i could realistically return to work? I dont have a physical job, i work at a hospital. I mainly talk to patients etc. I am just wondering how long it would be before i could realistically talk without major discomfort?

  • I would say maybe a week and a half. It depends on how well you handle pain and can stretch your mouth out and have the muscles come out of "shock" from the surgery and become strong again. It took me atleast 3 weeks to fully open my mouth all the way or more but during those 3 weeks I could still mutter certain sounds but atleast a week and a half at the earliest. Also, maybe your job could let you talk to people who are about to/have had the surgery you did and you can help them out too!

  • How long did it take you before you could go out running again?

    (if you do running)

    =D you look so great!!

  • It took me about 6 weeks before I even felt like running larger distances such as 3 miles or more. For those 6 weeks I couldnt eat so I had no strength and I also lost vast amounts of muscle. Thank you for the compliment also. I hope this helps you:)

  • Ah it looks so good afterward!! This is just what I need to see before I get my surgery in a couple of weeks. I have a severe overbite as well, probably worse than yours. How long was your jaw wired shut for?

  • About 4 days full wired shut. Than i had this god aweful metal in my mouth for another 6 or more weeks or something like that. It was under my gums and helped keep everything in place. Good luck with your surgery, check out my other video too! Its got recent pictures of my recovery and what I looked like after.

  • I'm supposed to take driver's ed two weeks later. Do you think that's reasonable? And I'm going to a 3-week writing workshop a month later... haha and i have already seen your other video

  • Ya the 3 week later thing you wont have ot worry about. Drivers Ed I would just call and make sure its ok because you might still be on narcotics to alleviate pain but usually your off within a week or so. I think you should be fine, it might be tough but you can do it.

  • Now it has been a year post op.

    Have you lost sensation?

My surgeon said that he would expand my upper jaw before the surgery so I don't have to lose teeth. Have you done the same thing?

How many days off would I need to take for the actual surgery?

Thanks! And congrats on the great results.

  • Thanks, i lost some feeling in my mouth but nothing too bad. Mainly my chin is still semi-numb and i only have about 80% feeling compared to what I used to have. Inside my mouth there are a few spots that are less sensitive but overall its nothing too bad. Yes, i had an expander when I was 12 preparing for this surgery. The actual surgery is only a few hours. The recovery would probably be about a week bc on day 3 i got my mouth unwired and you dont start feeling feeling better until weeks later

  • Hey I have pretty much the same exact problem as you had, receeding chin, front teeth dont touch, long vertical growth in face, etc etc. So im guessin you're a pretty tall person 6'2-6'3, same as me. Anyways, Im having the surgery in August but was wonderin if you now have a prominent jaw line and more balanced face after 6 or so months. Thanks

  • Ha we sound almost identical. You got my height right on and we had the same symptoms. Well I DEFINITELY have a better jaw line and my face is much more balanced. My face is less long and more compact and so much more proportional. The jaw line stands out well and its always a pleasure to look at in the morning. Waking up and seeing your face is now appreciated because you know all the pain you put into getting it just right. Any more questions il be happy to help you.

  • yea you look really alike to me. It's such a problem how much a long jaw does to ur face. I was just wondering because down on ur last pics ur jaw must not have fully healed yet. when you get the chance could you post up/or pm pictures of side angle months after the surgery so i can see the results im expecting. not many people have this jaw problem, but you had the EXACT problem i have now, thanks

  • Ya, il take some pictures soon and post them either in a post surgery video or il send you a link to them once i take them. Give me about a day or two. Thanks

  • thanks man, really appreciate it.

  • Serious question: Can you still take a punch? Can you still play football?

  • YES, I still play physical sports and yes you can still take blows to the face. Maybe even better now that you have metal plates in your face lol

  • It's cool that you're answering everybody's questions here. I came across this video because I am interested in the methods they use to fix overbites, mine has been causing me a lot of problems, like headaches and losing teeth enamel. I'm hoping to get dental insurance that will help me cover the cost of getting it fixed... and now I'm blabbing on and on, haha.

  • Ha well i dont know the procedure they fully used on me. You would probably have to google that but you should talk to a surgeon and see if they could give you a "real" solution to your problems when you get insurance.

  • Wow, thats a lot to go through for vanity's sake. But I understand the western culture and the illusion that we need to look a certain way. Its funny though how you say its about sleep apnea and all these other potential problems...There's no real science backing any of that up. This is about you wanting a more prominent jaw-line, plain and simple. Im not saying thats bad I'm just sayin lets get real here.

  • Actually, you're wrong. It is used for apnea depending on where the obstruction is. (Though if it's in the tongue or soft palate, it wouldn't make sense.) If you just want the cosmetic change, you might as well just get a chin implant. That would be less risk and less pain.

One thing that wasn't mentioned was posture... My jaw sinks into my neck when I have proper posture, and it makes it harder to breathe, so I jut my chin out. Now it's messing with my dancing and causing back pain.

  • Whoops! This was supposed to be a reply to someone else in the thread, but it didn't work properly.

  • (I removed my two comments because I found you answered them from previous questions).

  • Comment removed

  • how long were you in braces after this?

  • About 6 months

  • Thanks ! for your help..I'll post you a picture soon..Ok

  • I already when to the dentist and ask to see a specialist, but they can't figure out why is jaw lower than the other and they say that my medical wont cover it because it's considered plastic surgery..I've had so many Xrays of SO many, but nothing. Also it doesn't hurt, but people just looks and looks and ask ???

  • You should post a picture of it or something and see what people think. Well if they cant find a problem with an x ray i dont know what the issue is. Im sorry I cant help you with that one. Maybe you should talk to a new doctor or something?

  • Question ? My jaw from one side is lower than my other side.I tried to get some doctors to help, but no one can't.

I have Mecical and it wont cover, because they say is plastic surgery.I hate when people stare and ask me WHY my jaw is like that.. :-(

  • You need to prove to your medical that it will cause you problems in the future and more medical problems so they might as well drop the $ now and save $ in the future. Ask ur doctor about grinding down the teeth on one side too if that would make any difference.

  • Your surgery looks very nice. I have a somewhat jaw related problem.. The side of my jaw is aligned properly but when I close my jaw the front 5-6 teeth dont meet each other and my mouth closes more than it should.. So I get really conscious when I'm eating & stuff & it looks wierd as when I fully close the jaw it looks smaller than it should although its ok otherwise as I dont fully close my jaw when I'm not eating.. Is this a problem ?

  • I think if you dont like it and its causing you problems too physically you should talk to a jaw surgeon and see what they say. They might be able to fix it with a non-surgical method. Just check it out

  • Is there any way you can have a doctor saw down your teeth on the side that is larger and even it out? I know my surgery got cleared because the surgeons proved that my problem could lead to more problems in the future and more money being spent in the long run. Find an angle and see what problems you could face in the future with your problem and than work with that and who knows, you might get it approved. Good hunting

  • I don't have any big issue with it ..and it doesn't cause me any discomfort ..& I don't think ppl even notice it ..Its just me feeling wierd & I cant look at myself eating gum in the mirror.. If ur getting wht im trying to say.. Anyhow I'm 17 & I have socially meet professional doctors/surgeons & nobody pointed out anything so its cool & if I want to do something about it I should wait till my jaw is fully developed, right ? Its a cosmetic thing but thx for replying.

  • Correct, you should wait until your done growing. Otherwise its like hitting a moving target and it might change more after the surgery too. I would try and see if medical would cover it and how it turns out later in life and if your still not liking how it looks you can always get surgery(medically covered or plastic surgery).

  • Hope all is doing well with the surgery, dont take this wrong, but you looked very well.. handsome before hand... But, I understand having something that bothers you, it dont matter how good everything else is, you focus just on that one thing..

  • I think you could run when you feel ready. Its all up to your doctor pretty much. You would just have to be extra careful to reduce stress on the ares that you had surgery on along with making sure you dont get an elbow to the face or anything if you run competitively.

  • hi :) i wish i could ask you a million questions! lol i had braces but they didn't fix my jaw, they just straightened my teeth:( . i can't close my lips without forcing them and my lips are always chapped and it's really annoying and it makes me really self-conscious. i just have one main question: where do i start? do i find an oral surgeon first? and do they write a letter to my insurance company? i've researched this surgery so much and it seems the hardest part is to get insurance to pay!

  • Hey buddy it sounds like you have the same thing i had. I hated not being able to close my lips normally also without tensing my facial muscles to make my lips touch. I would talk to your orthodontist if you have one and see who they would refer you too. If not go to a local hospital and investigate good surgeons there and try to see what they could do to help you out. The surgeon will write the letter to the insurance. Insurance is the major hurdle along with recovery but its worth it.

  • i found a really good surgeon online a few months ago, so i e-mailed them. a couple days later they called my mom and talked to her and basically said that insurance hardly ever pays for it unless you have a really bad bite because it's considered cosmetic :( so should i just keep calling and researching doctors until i find one that will be willing to fight for my parents insurance to cover it? thanks so much for the help!

  • Okay.... So i think i might need the same surgery as you... or something like it.... I turned 18 a few months ago. and my teeth are all fucked up. haha. but the dentist told my mother when i was 13 i couldnt get braces because in order to straighten my teeth with the way my jaw is it would push all my teeth out of the gums. so they need to break my jaw and put in bone or something to expand it then align my teeth and wire my jaw shut..... is that basically the same thing?

  • Well I had my jaw wired shut too. I had an overbite(lower jaw was behind upper jaw) which looked unusual. I think your procedure is going to be different. To sum mine up quickly i had my bottom jaw brought forward, upper jaw brought back just barely to allign correctly, and chin broke and extended forward. I hope that helps some?

  • sorry! too long=] but got my dentist appt. soon. so yea.

  • wow seriously! Your insurance paid that much! cool.

    I have some questions.

How old are you? (when you got the surgery)

Did you have braces before this? Because I had braces for almost 2 years. I got the straight teeth but I still had an overbite/ overjet... but my orthodontist took them off anyways. so i'm wondering if I need surgery to fix it. I don't know if my insurance will cover it.

What kind of medical problems did you have for ur overbite.

How many mm was your overbite?

  • I was 18 when I had the surgery. I had braces numerous times(3 times). I got mine straight too but you couldnt fight the overbite and the genetics leading to it. See if your insurance will cover it. My genetics prevented my overbite from being fixed even when I had perfectly straight teeth so I would take the surgical option. I have no allergies or medical problems, genetics lead to my overbite. I am not sure how many mm it was over, atleast double digits. I hope that helped some:)

  • cool thanks!!!! =]

  • Im having braces now and im probably is going to have surgery soon. I have a question, did your face change much after the surgery compeard how it was beafore? little afraid that its going to look much diffrent..

  • Ah ya it changed a lot but it was in a positive way. You will look different but dont be scared with what you see at first because of all the swelling. My profile picture is what I look like after the surgery and if you watch my video you can see what I looked like before and compare.

  • yes it looks diffrent. I hope ill get as good results as you:) How much did you pay?

  • I believe it was about $30,000 USD. Insurance covered all of it though and my family only paid $300.

  • ok, I get all coverd by the state, I found it out toaday^^

  • Wow, your taxes are going to be ALMOST paid off after this surgery lol

  • yes, we pay some taxes, but we have a really good health system.

  • Well I hope everything goes well and let me know how it goes after the surgery!

  • yes^^

  • I have another question - was your overbite genetic or was it caused over time? Did your back teeth touch before the surgery?

  • My overbite was genetic. To answer your second question my back teeth did touch but my front teeth had a gap the size of your pinky or ring finger when i closed my jaw.

  • Comment removed

  • I would have to agree that your going to have a more difficult recovery and process than I did. I was not suffering from any of those medical conditions. I hope your surgery goes well even though you will probably need to wait until your 18 to have the operation or later to let your mandible and body stop growing.

  • thanks. i have to get a surgery on my nose in 4 years, but my jaw is another thing. weve tried everthing to fix it but it keeps getting worse. hahaha and all this happened because i fell over a hurdle in track...

  • Haha sue the hurdle! lol.

  • haha it was the hurdle!! im not lieing! plus i had to quit playing club soccer beacuse of the all this. and i live for soccer!!! uhhh oh well. i think im going to make up a story for how i hurt my jaw. i mean cause come on, the real story is pretty pathetic! no one believes me cause im so tall and they think i would be amazing at hurdles cause of my long legs. haha ill just let them think what they want...

  • Haha well think of something good...im sure tripping over the girls is not going to impress the girls! Say you were saving an animal or child and got hurt but it was worth it; girls love that kind of stuff:)

  • hahaha that would work but im not into trying to impress the girls, cause i AM a girl! hahaha. but thanks for the advice...haha

  • Haha well good luck anyway....with the boys I mean now!

  • haha thanks....im more into having friends that are boys, not boyfriends, but whatever. haha

  • Congrats man! That is a hell of a lot to go through, but think of all the chicks you will score! lol

I have an open bite, causing severe TMJ. Do you have any idea if the procedure would be the same for an open bite (back molars touch when I bite down)? Thx

  • Haha well il tell you what man it does help with the girls! That alone makes it worth it! People really do recognize the difference and how "perfect" they think your teeth are. Plus you got a good story to go along with it too if you know what i mean! Honestly I dont know the procedure for you. I would ask your dentist or orthodontist. I wish you luck, just keep focused on the end results....and the girls too lol!

  • hey brandon you look great after the surgery go for modelling dude.... how much does it cost?, my upper jaw is little protruded.. :(

  • Haha thanks i appreciate the ambition but im not sure yet! I believe the surgery was about 30k or so, i would need to look. However, there is a lot of charges associated before and after with braces, appliances, retainers, etc. I would tell you to go for the surgery, its worth it in the end:)

  • Comment removed

  • Hey Brendan your results are great. I had this surgery about 4 years ago and I am very happy with it. I am actually a pre-dental student (former dental assistant) at UT knox. I was studying and got pretty overwhelmed with all the stuff us pre-dental students have to do. So I thought I would motivate myself and watched your video. It helped, and I am looking forward to making people smile and have more confidence. I just might put up my pics too!

  • Are you glad you had the surgery? Well I have to admit; having this surgery does get you interested in dentistry lol. Haha after all this surgery and orthodontics i think i should have my Doctorate in Orthodontics by now!

  • woo you look so cool

  • great song

  • how long do u have 2 wait to drink froma straw after ur wired shut?

im havin surgrey on my jaw

  • It really depends on what your doctor says. It probably wont be for the first week or two because you wont want to rip out the stitching all along your jaw lines. Good luck

  • Hey man,

Thanks for all the information. I'm eight days post-op and your video really helped me prepare. (I also emailed you with a couple of questions, and that really helped as well.) I'm still pretty swollen and numb in random places around my mouth and cheeks but my bite is perfect!

Anyways, just wanted to thank ya.

    -Daniel

  • Anytime Daniel. I am glad I could help. That was my goal of posting this video in the first place and I am glad it helped atleast one person with their operation. I hope you have a healthy recovery and most of all..enjoy your new smile....

  • hey brendan... fine Irish name!!!

congratulations on your results. Can you tell me if you nose changed much due to the upper jaw surgery?

    James.

  • Haha well thanks; im glad someone can recognize my name and sync it to the music lol. Well I personally had nothing done to my nose. However, the it might look different with the change in your jaw. For example, my nose placement looks different from the side now because my jaw was farther back before and made my nose stick out more. Now its more of a nose and than straight line down. Your nose wont change but it might look different with your facial features being adjusted. Good luck James

  • ok so a montha fter the surgery my friend should be fine..even a week

    thanks for the video

my friend is getting done tomoro

    so i was worried

    but im good now.

    thanks.

    and godbless.

  • Hi Brendan, I've been listening to the Dropkick Murphy's and really luvin them! I tell all my friends in England about the DM's. Thankyou for introducing me to them, this is one of my favourite all time songs now!! Feckin luv em man!

Funny how ortho surgery leads to other life-affirming things.

  • Exactly, you can always find something positive out of nothing if you try hard enough. Enjoy the music man, i know I will!

  • Hi. Thanks for sharing your video. Im getting braces next year and a jaw surgery too for my overbite which is 9mm. Its so annoying, I keep biting my lower lip when I close my mouth, have you had experiences with that as well? and how big was your overbite to begin with?

  • I dont believe my overbite was that large. I never really had problems with biting my lip but after the surgery I bit my tongue numerous times because I was not used to a new bite. I think mine was 6mm but im not sure. B4 surgery I got chapped lips a lot due to it being hard for me to breathe and me not being able to close my lips without stressing them and I couldnt do that. I no longer have that problem. You will love your bite after.

  • Do you have any long turn numbing to your lips or gums or anywhere?

  • I have a little numb area in the center of my chin. However, everything else is fully functional now and not numb. After surgery most things were numb but everyday the swelling and numbing went down. It has almost been 6 months and I just have a penny sized area on my chin where I am numb but everything functions perfectly and over time the rest of the numbness will dissipate.

  • Ouch.

  • I just had mine done yesterday and I bitched until I got out of the hospital. Im just curious how many days was the centre of your face really swollen for? My lips are just terrible I cant feel them at all!

Were you really happy with the outcome? I always felt like people were judging my face because of its "look like I got hit by a truck" look

  • Once your out of the hospital things will get a lot easier. Most of the swelling is gone in like 6 weeks maybe. Personally, I saw progress everyday as you can see in my videos too. It just depends on the person and what they eat. Stay away from salts, drink lots of liquids, just take it easy. Also, I am happy with my outcome. I have a perfect alignment of jaws and smile now which I enjoy. It might suck now but in the future you will be glad you got it done.

  • I'm gonna be getting this done in a yearand half, i can't wait.

  • Its worth it, it sucks for a bit and is annoying but in the end its worth it man.

  • this is what my doc. wants me 2 get. and i will never do this. lol!

  • I was the same way but i got over the fear and did it and it was worth it. I look better now and no complications. If you ever want to talk about it hit me up with an email.

  • You've so gotta do it it, its totally worth it. Just 4-6 weeks out of your whole life....
