  • OMG AHAHAH i was looking for fat guy lights him self on fire and they give me this BULLSHIT

  • I CAN FLY LIKE A BIRD! the guy knew that jumping is better than burning xD

  • Elie wiesel was NEVER in Auschwitz or Buchenwald. He stole identity of Lazar Wiesel, A-7713 who was born in 1913.

Lazar was in auschwitz and transferred to Buchenwald! Elie Wiesel was born in 1928. He is a fraud .

  • photos=lies

  • All of them #26 Jews can't get any peace on this earth.

  • These are very sad this just shows how the world is. I noticed a lot of these are in the newseum in washington dc.

  • Correction. #25 is a US MARINE not a Soldier.

  • @aauscout : I've lost where the original photo was from, but I'll take your word it's a marine and fix it. Could you tell by the helmet?

  • @whitesoxfanatic Yes, the Army uses a heavier style of helmut with a different paint job.

  • Too much about 9/11, 9/11 is nothing compared to the 60 million lost in WWII...not to mention WWI/vietnamese war/cold war, rwandan genocide!

  • The point wasn't really to try to symbolize loss through photographs, then certainly Rwanda or WWI would've had a few photographs thrown in there. I just think there were more iconic photographs on 9/11 then for the other events.

  • @GamingAussie

Don't say it is nothing. It may be realitvly small compared to those things but it will never be nothing...

  • Too much about 9/11, 9/11 is nothing compared to the 60 million lost in WWII...not to mention WWI/vietnamese war/cold war etc..

  • @GamingAussie Hey dumbass I don't have a clue if you are american or not but that was probaby one of the sadest days in U.S history

  • come from China. I would say that the Government often to deceive the people. Embargo network. Suppress freedom of speech. Recruitment network commentators distort the facts to justify its beautification dictatorship. There is no democracy and freedom. There is no way. . Patriotism does not mean loving the party

The Communist Party recruited a large number -language network commentator. The purpose is to distort the truth. Deceive the truth

  • who's the woman on 1:04 ??

  • @muma0449 I may be wrong, but if I remember correctly, she is a muslim woman, who was photographed by an american on a military tour. it ended up making a cover of a well-known media outlet at the time. she is honestly one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen, and it's a shame that she was forced to hide her face for most of her life. I don't think she was identified.

  • @youdumbnigger Im not jewish.... How the fuck did you come to that conclusion? You infer about as well as you insult. Terribly... And you suck at trolling...

  • some of them are from WW2 , I've seen them on History books. And some are from conflicts that we are still dealing with.

  • number 31 almost made me want to cry.

  • very gud collection very well done.

  • lol i saw hitler

  • Sooner or later, we China will be the Berlin Wall collapsed. And will certainly collapse

Of freedom and democracy belong to the people of

  • how the hell is that funny

  • @vwintersv just think of how big of a SPLAT he woulda made on the sidewalk

  • uhmmm do you know what the picture is?

  • @JayOhIsHere yup

at least the guy didnt die a virgin

  • a guy falling to his death isnt that funny

  • the children being burned by napalm is one of the saddest, also a vietcong prisoner, are you sure it wasn't vietmin.

  • I cannot take it anymore! Do you think God is happy seeing people killing people, the image and likeness of Him..? Oh my..

  • Have to be the Tankman and the execution of the Vietcong soldier. But all of yours are really nice, hadn't seen the mourning American soldier before, but that picture had a huge message.

  • Thanks. I felt the solemn look of the soldier with the tears really contrasted two emotions nicely.

  • Some of these photgraphs are refrenced in watchmen's opening credits

  • Sadly I have never seen watchmen but I'm sure they did a far better job than I have.

  • the video of irag when they tore the statue of Saddam down

  • Toring the statue of Saddam ...... that is not a natural photograph, that was staged by the the Bush administration.

  • lol. you should take a pic of it and show the world

  • its iraq not irag you stupid pig white devil .

  • the soviet flag in reichtag?

  • hard 2 c but nice work

  • at 1:39 is that from Comfort Texas in 87?

  • Truth be told, I couldn't tell you where exactly this took place, but it wasn't the Jessica McClure incident.

  • My favorite, a classic kiss, by a Navy soldier. As if this was that one nurse who cared for him in battle. Who cares who she was after all, she was an angel in disguise and deserved a kiss! The Green-eyed girl. Beautiful and expressive picture. I forgot the history behind this girl. Also, the Jews sleeping in bunkers WWII, very sad but realistic. Let's not forget. "Peace on Earth and to all God's blessings"

  • the pic at 1:34 is a powerful image. whats the story behind this

  • It was taken in 2007. It's of a Jewish woman resisting an Israeli security force that was removing illegal settlers in the West Bank region.

  • why wuld the israeli security force be removing a jewish person from the west bank was this when west bank owned by arabs? still doesnt make sence

  • the monk lighting himself on fire was crazy

  • It's Mahatma Ghandi :)

  • Good job. I liked a lot of the pictures here, but i think you missed one: Che Guevara

  • Good choice of pics, but my favourite isnt here :(

(The one of Conrad Schumann jumping the berlin wall in its early stages-3rd day to be precise)

  • thats ok then, i understand your view.

  • sick if these are some of your favourite pictures?

  • I just think that these capture emotion very well, and the photos themselves are very well done.

  • Dont see the picture for what is there, but more so about what they symbolize. For example, the photo of the main kissing the skull, that is one of the strongest displays of love and affection you will ever see. And the soldier being shot; theres an eerie sense of calm about the photo that makes it brilliant. As i said, look beyond what is there and what the image is trying to say to you

  • Whoops, that was meant to be man, not main. Gah, good ol typing skills

  • Or take for example the man that jumps from the Trade Center. Look at the composure and strength that is portrayed about him when he knows he is jumping to his fate. There is something so eerily peaceful about that photo. Others show people flopping around, but there so much strength and mental composure as the man falls head first . . . seemingly fearlessly. Its almost like the monk that sets himself a light. Almost a beautiful yet powerful portrayal of human strength.

  • bad

  • All moments of sadness around the world. Good selection, not too sad, but it gives a good message.

  • I think, the The Falling Man is the best.

  • Then why did you add a comma between think and the?

  • PoidHater---ummm, because he paused!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wajst kidding around, sorry for wasting you people's time. I don'tevenknow what I was thinking, I hate jokes and I think they are evil.

  • he jumped from the twin towers as they burned

  • I love your photo selection. All significant moments. Just a comment, most of them are intensley sad moments. Not saying thats wrong just saying it's interesting.

  • The kiss on V-J day in Time Square - Great picture!

  • why shud the olimpic be held at china they massacered there own people (and so do some other countrys). and they torture there own people

STOP THE OLIMPICS BEING HELD AT CHINIA!!!!!

  • I think its a little late for that.

  • whats 1:00??

  • Tiananmen Square

  • Where was the Triangle fire?

  • New York City

  • No I mean where is it on your video

  • Oh, it was at :10, it's not the actually fire, but a picture of a few of the women who jumped out of the building.

  • Thought-provoking stuff. Nice work.

  • 1:36 is important because?

  • 1:36 is Elian Gonzalez, it was an international issue with Cuba

  • I know, but my point was why was it so important? There are hundreds of illegal immigrants who are deported monthly from the US back to all parts of the world. Besides, there are far more important issues going on in the world, the media sometimes just has nothing better to do.

  • The media does have a tendency to kind of hober on unimportant issues (like following Spitzer's car through traffic). It was mainly symbolic though. It became part of the Cuban/American struggle.

  • Well, see I happen to know many Cubans born here and even those who fled Cuba. Nobody, not one of them thought that Elian's struggles were of any importance. You make a very good point, but the fact is there are far more important problems going on with Cuba and the US than the struggle of one kid. But I totally understand the symbolic part of the whole thing.

  • awesome... excellent job... the most incredible photo is hitler in paris... I cant believe... I was there in 2006 and get the same photo... unbelievable

  • photo 0:50 with the naked children running away. where was that massacre held?

  • It was a napalm dropping at the village of Trang Bang.

  • so my question is did anything get changed after the monk lit himself on fire? dumbass. protest without result is as useless as a threat from a jew in a concentration camp

  • It brought attention to the mistreatment of Buddhists. It didn't lead to change directly, but it led to attention which led to change.

  • exactly.

  • Wow, as if that protest had no result. As a Buddhist that protest means so much years from then. Could you light yourself on fire to show the world something that you believed in; you would cry and run around screaming, as I would. Think about how much that monk mastered meditation. He couldn't feel a thing, or he was strong enough to withstand it. BURNING! The S. Vietnamese saw this and saw the West trying to kill their culture. And to think how Americans didn't understand them joining Commies?

  • my friend told me about the monk lighting himself on fire. I think the falling man picture would make a great protest sign, something about killing written underneath it.

  • The falling man would make a great protest sign. It gives a message of hopelessness, at least to me.

  • no it doesnt...it gives a message of strength...to me it shows that the man decided that he was going to decide that he was going to control how he died.

  • See, I view the photo as the man accepting his fate without resistance. But I completely understand where you're coming from, which I think adds to how strong the photo can be.

  • 1.50, really serious picture...

  • An amazing video many very moving pictures.

Good job man keep it up.

  • this video isn't related to drama at all

  • Dramatic: "sensational in appearance or thrilling in effect"

  • 12)Vietnamese Monk lighting himself on fire in protest

    17)Tiananmen Square man/unknown rebel/tank man

    BOTH HEROIC IMAGES

  • hey great video! 1000000000000/100000000000

  • is there a pic were a little boys dick gets cut off. because thats what i thought and it made me feel like"but why..." the excact same with the muslim on fire..... the world is unfair... excellent work man keep it up!!!! well done!! loved it!! 10/10!! love your work...

  • That's actually a girl. There's a video of the same incidence on youtube, and you can tell from the hair it a girl.

    I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • nice work man.

  • The one of the dude who jumped out of the WTC is amazing, just one of those pictures that makes you think "damn...".

  • It's funny and yet sad that people sometimes overlook power and strength because of the container. Ei: Ghandi

  • damn you deng xiaopong

  • thank you!!yet i must warn you!!in the years to come there will be a great civil war!!!Marches down your street and then what will you do,,,when u find there is no country to fight a war within itself...when man devours man...what will you do when love has faded because we have made it so.LOVE PEACE RESPECT brother in the years to come then also u shall see my face ,,i promise you my name is Mario David Boquin.

  • world's gone wrong

  • but was it ever right?

  • Thank you for the kind remarks.

  • good video, some timeless photographs there

  • 1:04 her eyes look amazing

  • I complement you on both the idea of your video and your choice of music for it. The contrast of the violence caught in the imagery and the contemplative peacefulness of that guitarist's sound is really powerful stuff. impressive&welldone.
