@marine21191 incorrect, the 266mph GT run was not in Texas, but at a track with a very suspect timing system... the car never backed up the run at another track because it cant... the true GT record is the PP car than I believe went 252 a while back.

PPR went emo when they heard about Ray's 266mph run. They say the car ran 270mph without such a headwind. I don't doubt 2000rwhp will do that for a GT, but needs to be backed up agree.

Fuck the Veyron. That Supra did 394km/h in one mile still in 5th gear with more to go. Also it was far from beeing on full boost. The Veyron can't compete with this. And IMO the Supra is by far more beautifull.

This Supra (S.W.'s) already put down 1500whp on a dyno jet (no spray) but dyno could only measure up to 1500whp so actual output is greater. Putting down 1500whp with a single turbo 3.4L I6 (441whp/L) is by far more impressive for me than let's say even 2500whp out of a quad turbo 8L W16 (315whp/L). That was my point. I was just comparing this Supra to a stock Veyron.

Simple math a 3.6L at 9000-10,000 rpms makes the same power at the same boost as a 4.6L at around 6000-7000 rpms. That supra is revving to the sky whereas the veyron won't have to rev as high to make the same power.

Supras are in the mid 7s a full weight Viper ran 4.7 @ 162 in the 1/8 that is a high 6 second car and it can be driven on the street these supras are gutted tin cans and are not as streetable as that Viper.

Two, John Hennessey had early luck with the Vipers and seems to have given up. Other companies do Vipers much better than he does. Read up on some of the horror stories of his garbage. He said a Viper would never do 240+ in a mile. A.R.T ran 247 in 3/4 of a mile. 7.11 on DOT drag radials. Hennessy has yet to be in the even low 8s.

@altimgamr Supras have inline 6, not V6. Also, the one in the video (like all the most powerfull out there) have a single turbo, not twin. Of course you could get a lot more out of the Veyron but it was made this way (enough already if you ask me). I read somewhere that the objective was to make a stock supercar with over 1000 hp hence why they tuned it to 1001 hp.

This car was tuned by Boost Logic. And although it is used as a drag car, it still has the original 6spd transmission and gearing.

@93V Wrong. He uses 28" tires. If you plug that with the stock gear ratios, 246 mph will be archeived in 5th gear at about 9600RPM. And yes, he does revv that much. All the most powerfull Supras around easily revv up over 9000RPM.
