I disagree. People are under the impression that the surge has worked and everything is fine in Iraq now. Obama should set the record straight, as well as remind people about his initial decision not to support the invasion. If anything, he should increase his skeptism of the "surge", adding that violence is also down due to the walls and segregation throughtout mixed areas and cities, as well as a large number of Iraqis in prison, among other reasons. This lull in violence might not hold.

I don't understand how people can see the surge as a success. That's like saying that a company that loses money, and then forms a policy that loses them slightly less money, is successful. It's ridiculous.

The surge failed, the only success was political. From that lesson it is clear what the solution should be - look for a political solution and get the troops out of there.
