  • Ralph

"But we may never see each other again " Interpretation: Damn I'll never have a chance to get freaky with her anymore, Damn she was good, I rode her all over the island"

  • Damn he is really torn between duty or lust for Meggie. Touching!

  • Is it me, but Ralph does not seem to have a guilt trip about sleeping with a married woman or breaking his vows! That must have been some good sex!

  • This video is fast becoming my fave. When they part, it's so sad and dramatic. It would have been a trip and Luke decided to visit her, and the caretaker stated "Wait a minute, if you are her husband, who's the other guy I've seen her kissing these past few days? A definite WTH moment from Luke! What language is this. Rachel looks like she is part Italian or Greek?

  • When she turns down the alarm clock, I just realized she wanted to stop time from their bliss, due to the fact in reality she would have to deal with Luke an he had to return to Rome

  • Wow both actors are good swimmers. Location is beautiful.

  • Is it me or did Ralph seemed like he wanted to continue the affair to some extent, when he offered to write ? Lusty man of the cloth! Maybe if they had stayed in touch, Maggie would have been tempted to tell him the truth about Dane.

  • Did she really stay on the island away from Justine and Luke for 2 months, or did he return home to them shortly after Ralph left. That is an interesting question Meggie posed? "What kind of God closes paradise to priests that love woman?" I think the Vatican continues to struggle with that isssue regarding female and male clergy.

  • I first saw this movie as a young teen in 83. It touched me then as a Catholic kid. Watching it now as an adult I see it in a whole new perspective.

  • Wow that must have been some mind blowing sex that Ralph is torn between who he loves more, God or Meggie! I think there was a part of him that wanted her to beg him not to leave, there was hesitation on his face as the cab was blowing its horn. The imagery of white clothes was interesting, since in a way both lost their innocence to the world.

  • @2011lamb ~no not good sex...great LOVE, I am lucky to have a Father Ralph in my life...my husband..but getting him back was similair to what hapened in this movie..he stayed with me instead of returning to his other life though "-)

  • Oh the painful choices we make in life. That was touching when Ralph tried to keep the image of the little girl he considered a daughter or niece in his mind to fight the fact she was now a desirable woman he craved sexually. The pain on his face when he left was heartbreaking, so was Meggie sadness.

  • I love when she told him that while they were her alone together he was hers:)

  • @27andkickinit Yes me too!when you deeply love someone, you can feel you belong to this person in a way.He was hers"because he loved her very deeply!I also love when she' s talking him about her first feelings as a child"when i saw you at the station, you smiled at me,then you said my name, you touched me..."so beautiful!!He was her only love!!like Frank but deeper.

  • Me too :-)

  • She is such a gorgeous woman...

  • Henry Mancini's music was truly a give from heaven for all of us!!

  • Especially the Lost Years soundtrack.

  • thought the lost years music was the same as the original series??

  • It is not the same. It is a masterpiece. Another work of genius.

  • Is it also by Mancini??

  • I think it was done by Garry MacDonald and Lawrence Stone. It is an orchestral version of the original but more stirring.

  • Thanks again but is there a version on utube of the music from the lost years??
