What made you go with the short ram intake as opposed to the cold air? I'm buying an intake soon and was leaning towards the CAI, but i'm hearing horror stories about sucking up water and hydro-locking the engine.

yea that also made my decision to just buy a short ram for my si.. since va has very weird weather i dont want my engine drowning.

Although, I've heard you'll be fine as long as you don't drive through huge puddles. But who does in a little coupe anyway? I highly doubt a heavy driving rain will do any damage. It rains all over the US! I live in MD, and the weather here is no more bizzarre than anywhere else. STILL CAN"T DECIDE THOUGH!

hydro-lock wont occur unless your running with the CAI submerged in water... otherwise you;ll be fine. if you still want to get the CAI but are afraid of the hydro-lock, AEM offers bypass valves for some applications

sounds good, the only thing i dont like about the new Si is that if u dont take it completely to 8 grand before you shift u fall out of vtec. theyre quick off the line but as u can see in one of my videos they start to die out at higher speeds due to the tranny, which i think is very close to a B16 tranny with a LS 5th as its 6th. its still a great car tho, intake sounds good.
