  • do foreigners get mistreated in japan? i am brazilian and afraid of dying to yakuza if i move there

  • rthe japanese brazilians are brazilian cause the japanese cmae to brazil in the 19 century they have lived in brazil for over 200 years and they are 100% brazilians culturally. they are just as brazilians as anyone else in brazil. Who in brazil is brazilian except the natives? the black are from africa, the whites from europe japanese from asia and many other ethnic groups. So why is a japanese brazilian less japanese than a black or white brazilian? they all come from differente continents.

  • It's funny to see how people of other countries see us. We don't hate people just because of their origin, there's more racism between brazilians (black and white people for example) than with foreign. Unfortunately human race will always make the other feels sad about things that at the end of life doesn't counts anyways, we all gonna die, there's no need to segregate each other.

  • @hsgomesp brazilians do not have rthe same racist issues as in america. IN brazil everybody lives together the problem in brazil is not racism is poverty.

  • How did you fix the things with the police???

  • @Nejisasan Dont do shit thats ilegal

  • @tokyocooney I mean, what did you tell them??? I don´t understand why they scold you just because you were filming in street.... O_O

  • Nice video dude! thanks for giving attention to Brazil ^^ appreciate!

  • yess!!! now if i go to japan, it wont be awkard since im brasillian =DDDDD. and 1:03, eat that everyday =), jkjkjkjkjk, but i do eat it alot xDDD.

  • i have been to this event since 2006. i like Brasil event . Samba, Soccor. but Brasilian crime in japan increased. now forigner's crime,,,1st china, 2nd brasil 3rd, kroea. Be careful not to commit crime. Japaense like Brasil.

  • Your dancing is mesmerizing. LOL

  • 0:01 Go to hell foreigner. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • FOOD ON A STICK is always good!!!!

  • Sounds like a place I'd rather not be present at. It's a hope that Japan remain primarily 'foreigner' free for the most part, to preserve the culture and cleanliness.

  • Pretty sure if most japanese people ever went to brazil they'd shit their pants before getting off the plane and beg to be taken back home.

Smog literally will choke you in most places to the point I knew a guy that married a brazillin. He mentioned when the plane opened up he thought he was going to literally die from the air. The water isn't water. More like sludge in many places.

There are packs of kids that are feral that kill foreigners for cash. No really, its fucked up there that bad.

  • @WildBuck007 Wow, such ignorance. Brazil has the largest population of Japanese outside of Japan, 1mil. people in Sao Paulo alone who claim ancestry.

I lived in Brazil for 2 years and remember smog by the airport in Sao Paulo. Then I left L.A....er, Sao Paulo and learned that Brazil is larger than the US, so I probably would be just as ill-informed to base my opinions of the US on 1 urban area. The water was fine and I drank it often, like every day and stuff...no feral kids killed me.

  • @WildBuck007 come on, its not THAT bad. i went there last summer, and i didnt choke on air, it was normal. and water, fine, made coffee everyday with it, and drank normal water too. and after japan, brasil has the most japanese people. sure its bad, but not THAT bad, and this is coming from a person who stays at nelopales (or something like that) whenever he goes to brasil, and that place, crap. (literally, there is crap everywhere)

  • Brazilian music is great

  • @gulskjegg

Actually there is alot of connection between Brazilians and Japanese. Brazil has the highest Japanese population outside of japan and Japan has the highest brazilian pop outside of Brazil (I think, I could be wrong). Read up on Japanese Brazilians, Chinese Peruvians and Chinese Cubans, there is a bigger link between Asia and Latin America than most people think.

  • hahaha this is great! it's funny to see how other cultures see us (brazillians)... thanks for the video, I had some laughs :)

  • Thank you for the clarification, Pedro! Makes more sense to me now.

  • @gulskjegg Due to instability in Economy and Politics in Brazil in 80's (20th century) and Prosperity in Japan, many Japanese-Brazilians returned to Japan. They are called DEKASEGI. Many non-Japanese Brazilians went to Japan, due to also interracial marriage. Many other non-Japanese Btrazilians went also to Japan for better works. Today largest foreigners residents in Japan are Chinese, Koreans, Philippinos and Brazilians. Actually about 200.000 Brazilians live in Japan.

  • Comment removed

  • @gulskjegg Many Japanese families left their own country in the late 19th and early 20th centuries - Japanese Diaspora - Ans they went to Brazil, USA, Peru, Argentina, Australia etc. Nowadays there are about 1,5 million people in Brazil that descends from Japanese (Largest Japanese Community outside Japan). The first generation - Japanese immigrants - went to Brazil is called ISSEI (Japanese word for 1st generation), 2nd generation (born in Brazil) NISSEI, 3rd generation SANSEI etc.

  • 3:38 the guy on red takes a pic with the girl and casually walks away. lol

  • what are the these NON NIKKEYJI,NISSEI or descedent of japanese, brazilians and americans doing in japan? no shame or what? am brazilian ,but am ashamed of brazilian behaviour abroad, they should respect their host countries

  • Most Brazillians I meet are the nicest people

  • what was the name of the band playing at around 3:20 ? sadly i dont know any japanese ska bands, but i heard ska is pretty big there compared to the us or europe

  • i remember in a previous vid. that you said that they don't allow american potato chips. i was wondering if there was a japanese version of our junk food, like Daritos

  • lol when u said hot as balls i thought it'd come up with a sentence stating the temperature of balls like in that early vid.

  • are u related to pedro resende....cus u look like him (a brazilian kid who i play with on the same soccer team and we live in NY)

  • I am brazillian and I do know many people who live in Japan. Awesome ;)

  • ghostofmatsubara wants to see hot chicks in thongs? :P

  • what r u filming? fuck you you filthy jap, my great granpa fucked ur great granpa up

  • I thought the funniest thing was how the guitarist in the ska band was using a Zakk Wylde guitar.

  • OMFG THEY HAVE A BRAZILIAN FESTIVAL I'M HALF BRAZILIAN!!! :O

  • you sound like Nicolas Cage to me! Great video btw!

  • It's sad... everyone can come and go to Brazil, brazilians are bad treated by foreigners and they go back home with a " come back soon"... in other countrys not everyone likes foreigners and brazilians are stupid for being so welcoming. ¬¬'

  • @gokharol serve yr brazilians fool right! for brazilians are anwful to their nationals,

  • aat was some nice skanking there cooney

  • lmao 4:05

  • we have many beautiful ladies for you to use your money with

  • Hillarious. Specially the samba steps :-D well do you know that is a city called Americana in Sao Paulo- Brasil that all the first immigrants came from : guess??

Maybe you can visit them next vacation. But I assure you that the american culture is almost forgotten. Look at Rita Lee - the descend of the great Lee General. She is a famous Rock singer.

  • It's nikkei, nissei means second generation, which means children of the japaneses who immigrated to Brazil. I'm a brazilian sansei, third generation, living in my grandparents land :)

  • wow im amazed that they r celebrating that proves just how open minded the japasnase are

  • @charlieiscool1000 Hahahaha.......

  • @charlieiscool1000

There was a huge influx of Japanese immigration to Brazil in the early 20th century and vice versa.

Actually the Japanese are not always open minded, they are very Homeogenous and value national identity over anything else.

  • *Sigh* I'm Brazilian also, and i'm going to Japan for a scholarship. These comments regarding Brazil and the crimes really don't bug me, I mean, many people like to look at the bad side of things to hide the bad facts about their own country, which I see no problem in doing. It just offends the majority of the people, when someone points out things like that, without taking in mind the true beauty of the country. Ignorance is natural, stupidity isn't.

  • one of the first, few and only times I'll see BOOBS in Japan. hahahha

  • lol

  • I like how he's the only one skankin'.

  • "linguiçaaaa" lol

hey guy, thanks for your comments about brazil and brazilians!!!

and about the "japanese-brazilians", we don´t usually say "that person is a japanese-brazilian" or that kind of stuff, if you were born in Brazil you´re brazilian and your ethnics will not matter anymore.

we brazilians are just the kind of people who likes to party, thats all.

And thanks again for making a video about brazilian things in japan ;D

  • woooow i am brazilian!

its really nice to see that people enjoy our culture :D i have to say that is a very good country, it has pros and cons like every other country (sorry, bad writhing lol..)

  • Brazlians know how to PARTY...thats what you wanted to say right hehe!!

    GREAT VIDEOS IMAO

  • i didnt know there were so many japanese brazillian in japan.

  • LOL is like to see white boys with rasta...nonsense!!!

  • do u all kno brazil has the highest number of ethnic japanese out side of japan? and these 'japanese brazilians' are really just japanese-brazilians who returned to japan post WW2?

  • looks like a lot of fun. i sure wish it was summer right now.

  • Its frickin hot as ballz

  • an angel named cirrhosis will take me to heaven LOL!!, dandanwii

  • there's a difference between pride and just shitting on people.

  • I find that term offensive -__-

  • Are you a nigger? This whole outcry of who feels offended is pissing me off. I define niggers as anyone OF ANY RACE who thinks they are "gangsta" pimps, "ballas" or any other unintelligible shit. I respect African American people who deserve respect as a person.

  • oh ok

I thought u were using it in a offensive way

    sorry

  • can I ask, have u seen any black people in tokyo

just need to know pls ^^

  • well, one point you are right....largest population of negroes outside of Africa..it's not my fault :D. They die everyday and born everyday, typically as africa does. But not the most violent, some areas of Brazil has criminal rates that scares anyone and some others that look a paradise..For comparison SA has almost 2x more crimes than Brazil..I think itranks the 4th position....

  • i don't believe in what i read right now.

most dangerous place? dude, yes! it may be the dangerous place in the world, but you see...

brazil is a big country, and south is not dangerous at all, curitiba is the best pacific place of brasil.

now go to favela da rocinha in rio de janeiro. you'll probally be robbed in 2 secs

it's not the WHOLE country, just SOME places are dangerous

  • @Jow279

Blacks commit 60 percent of crime in the US and they are only 12% of the population (1/2 of Aids cases70% of prison population)you wait till they get civil rights Brazil will be a war zone of rape and murder. They were kept in line during segregation Civil rights changed all that the Jews unleashed Terrorists on Americans.

  • im sick of people like you that destroy videos with your racial comments no one cares who does what in this world we are all just people. There are bad people of every shape size and color so deal with it or go put yourself out of your own misery

  • @MrNationalistpride

Like honestly are all these statistics needed... This video is about the BRAZILIAN FESTIVAL in Japan not in fucking America... Stop blowing people with your underlying, live life by what is read not shown small minded bull.....

We clearly can see you only view anything you see from one side not the other.....I swear some keyword some of you suburban people Kill me with this narrow minded bull...

  • @Jow279

My uncle moved back to Brazil in 2001 and he wasn't happy they let the blacks grow in numbers. He moved back to get away from blacks in the US

  • you see, movies about brazil are all about favela da rocinha, i know this,

i get so frustated cuz ppl say this, and favela da rocinha is overused, more than it should be.

seriously, why showing the worst place of the country? i don't get it.

but no, it's not a ''murder and rape'' place. i can guarantee this.

  • @MrNationalistpride This sounds atterly stupid! This video is about a Brazilian festival in Japan. Brazil and Japan have had a great immigration policy that enriched both countries for 100 years! Brazil IS BLACK also! Brazil is composed of many races and colors, and we honor that! I happen to be white, and have no problem whatsoever with black people. To some of you VERMINS who are bringing race into this, and disrespecting black people, please go be an offense dushbag somwhere else!

  • You sealed the deal for me. Thank you.

I was deciding whether I wanted to go to Japan or China to study Computer Graphics, but when I saw the capoeira thing, that sealed it. Because I actually train capoeira in the States and I have a tie with Brazilian culture, but I would like to study in Asia. Thanks for the video.

    Nikkei people are awesome.

  • OMG.... last time I drinked so much caipirinha and I thinked:

"If I don't stop drinking it, an angel called cirrhosis will take me to heaven."

  • I went there yesterday. It's fantastic, isn't it?

If you get a chance to come to Tokyo, you must go to Yoyogi Park. This park have many variety of festivals almost every weekend. PARTY PARK. But Brazilian's is my favorite.

  • Hot Brazilian Chicks in Thongs, Haha.

    Im Brazilian

  • @mylifeinjapan you write very good english

  • omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how did i miss this one

  • Talk about culture... Japan is FTW in this department.

  • There are a lot of pro Brazilian football(soccer) players in Japan. In Japans top divison of soccer Brazilians and Japanese are the majority of players in a team.

  • nice vid xD greetings from brazil o/

  • Oh god I laughed so hard at "Banco do Brasil", and that whole thing. XDDD

  • Did you use to be a Ska Kid? I feel like you might've been ;P

  • I was. I played tenor sax for a little known NY Ska Band.

  • Knew it. Skank away my friend.

  • @tokyocooney

    Short Round, right?

  • I heard that in Japan the majority who do crimes are over their are Brazilians and Americans. Americans who are white or Asian origin.

  • 98% of crimes committed in Japan are committed by Japanese people. 2% are committed by foreigners. These are the numbers published by the Police. Not surprisingly 2% of the population is foreign. Statistically, it is not more likely a foreigner will commit a crime.

  • @tokyocooney Brasilian Violent crime is 8times as much as Japanese do in japan.

  • Hi! I enjoyed your Brasil Video. My (1/2Brasilian son, (likeablerodent), has never. Een to anything Brasilian. It'd be Wesome if hou two could meet up. He lives in Fukushima-ken. See his videa on unicycling on Japanese TV.

  • That why im proud of being a brazilian =D

    btw

    Salgadinhos = Snacks

    Linguica = Pig meat

Music 3:47 -- "Tao seu" by Skank

  • does anyone know what that sound in the background is? it begins at 2:35

    :)

  • Skankin! Nice!

  • Food and music are great! Must have been a really wonderful festival!

  • dude did that guy in 3:38 just ask a random chick to take a pic with him??? weird

  • you're having so much fun i'm fucking jealous, i hate the bahamas hate it hate it hate hate it, wish i was in tokyo.

  • Im wondering. Why dont you see more black people in japan. Is is beacuase of the culture gap or what? Someone pelase explain.

  • sorta....Japan is definitely integrated with alot of culture, proof of that is this video but yeah black people never really had a reason to go to Japan they went to the U.S. but Nigerians on the other hand did...but yeah its also a culture gap in Japan as well, i say in do time there will be a more diverse look of Japan but there are indeed some black people in Japan, just not very many (i had to include that or the ones currently living in Japan would get offended lol)

  • Yeah I was really wodnering becasue I heard some story from someone a long time ago that one of the first black people to go to japan commited a murder or something and from then on japanese people didnt like blacks and I thoguht that sounded a little far-fetched. Thank you for explaining! -smiles-

  • do they have a mexican festival too?

  • There is about 300,000 Brazilian-Japanese people living in Japan and over 1.4 million in Brazil, he talked about it in the video. Thats why there is a Brazilian festival. There is probably around 2,000 Mexicans in Japan, and I doubt there is many Japanese in Mexico. So there probably isnt any such festival, but who knows, maybe something small.

  • there is a japanese guy at my work who was raised in mexico, funny ting is that he dosent understand/speak japanese but speaks only spanish...

  • And now that Japan has used up the Brazilians and don't want them anymore, theyre trying to kick them out. How sad. Shame on Japan.

  • respect the culture of Japan. They might have very good reasons not to like the Brazilians you know

  • too many of them...lol just jking take up jobs i guess...and causing trouble? from there point of view

  • i heard about that, there even paying the bazilian familys money to leave the country....

  • Yup, and they can never return, neither can their children.

  • yea sad, and i was planning to move there if shit gets relly bad here in the us....

  • IT IS BAD LOL, civilization in the us had been damaged, mentally, so... yah... moving to another country might be the only way for salvation one's self!

  • yup, well id like to move to my home country where my paretns came from but it isnt as civlized as here or in japan...so japan is my next country, plus im picking up on the language as well so if it gets bad here, next stop kawasaki japan...

  • 3:55 a guy in a black shirt starts taking the piss of your dancing TC lol.

Biggest sticked-meat I've ever seen, I want one!

And who was the drunk French guy at the end?

    <3

  • oh my god this was sooooo funny!

  • brazil is full of japanese people

and japan has also a lot of brazilians

  • man if you like brazilien food, you must eat our portuguese food...

  • My bank is Banco do Brasil HAHAHA :)

It's sooo fun to know that in japan there's such a huge festival of brazilian culture!

you should try caipirinha. it's much better than nova schin and any other beer :D

  • With every video i become more and more convinced that Japan is probably the most amazing place ever!

  • nice!

  • Japanese people really know how to have fun

  • wow cool. great videos. i instantly subscribed :D

    gonna visit japan someday :(

  • Sweet! Thanks for posting this! Great way to make everyone aware of the Japanese-Brazilians! The most friendly, happy, humble, hospitable and hot people! =D

  • The biggest Japanese community outside Japan is in Brazil. Yup! The main reason why the Japanese once immigrated to Brazil and why their descendents have come back to Japan is most likely prosperity. Kinda obvious, I guess... ;-P

Make sure y'all go try some Brazilian food and "meat on sticks" (churrasco) at restaurants in Tokyo, and also in Omiya! Also, there's plenty of Brazilian markets and online shops in Japan where you can find Brazilian products in general. =)

  • Salgadinhos are also really yummy. I like ones that taste like bacon or ham. :3 Yum.

  • Hopefully the festival will be as good this year!

Hey Cooney, have you tried caipirinha? If not, let's have some some time! =)

    Beijos! Ciao!

  • oh my cooney! lmao it seems you need some sneakers! =P

  • haha thats such a good point about the dog statue- what was it called chihiro or something? Why does everyone meet there? Dont they know that if everyone meets there, you can't find who you are trying to meet????

  • 420 rating i think so haha

  • brilliant!

  • Im from the city called nagoya and thats probably the most concentrated brazillians in japan because all of them came to work for Toyota factories

  • I find it hilarious yet educational at the same time yeah I am learning and in a fun way!!

  • Your so Awesome, Cooney!

    You make learning fun LOL!

That festival looks like a lot of fun!

  • sweet im brazilian! gotta check out that festival when i go to japan!

  • why do japanese people like brazillians??? O_o

  • why shouldn't they?

  • im not saying they shouldnt im just saying i though a country that dealt more with the other country. i never hear of anything happening between japan and brazil.

  • Back in the 40's and 50's Brazil sent some of there ju jitsu champs to japan and japan sent some of there champs to Brazil. believe it or not thats how it started if you go to Brazil you will find a lot of Japanese also.

  • that is not how it started japanese went to Brazil during the 1900s because they were looking for economic prosperity. many of them started working in the sugar cane business. They didn't just go to Brazil they went to many other south American countries like peru and Colombia.

  • Are you kidding me?! There are so many Japanese in Brasil.

  • Gotta love brazil.... especially the hot women....

  • I'm half english half Brazilian

Japan is one of our mother countries!

We have plenty of japanese festivals there, so I'm happy to see a brazilian festival in Japan, thanks for the vid!

  • how is japan and brazil related? i dont see a connection...

  • Since 1908 hundreds of thousands of working class japanese imigrants moved to Brazil in hope of a better life, since they had very little in Japan. Their cultural impact was huge and their are one of our mother countries along with Portugal (who 'discovered' Brazil), Italy, Germany, Angola and Mozambique. Brazil without Japan would not really be Brazil. And many descendants moved back to get to know their origins and stuff

  • marital arts

  • try searching brazilian japanese in wikipedia.

    Erm, something in history.

I think it was because some Japanese people went to Brazil because they heard they could prosper there.

    Most of them married Brazilians.

The Japanese recruited Brazilians, mostly of Japanese descent, to Japan to work on the 80s (maybe). So there are also 'dekasegi' brazilians in Japan.

  • i'm brazilian living in japan and loved ur vid

had never seen ur vlog b4!

  • LOL

  • The dance is awesome. How bout some lessons here on youtube?? xD

  • When I was in Shibuya last summer I saw the exact same guy sitting next to Hachiko! Freaky....
