The thing about U2 is that they perform as if rock and roll can redeem the world. I don't know any other way to say it. Great bands can produce great music, and they do, but they also project this aura as if rock can really change the world, like it is some kind of annealing fire that can dissolve all the evil and wasteful aspects of our lives and turn them into some kind of golden gift. Very weird band.

This is def one of my fav U2 songs.

I really get a kick out of people getting so pissed over debating "best bands", etc. 1) A lot of it is a matter of taste 2) I think it can be like comparing apples to oranges - bands are different, and have their own strengths.

I'll find myself in different moods, therefore I will listen to different artists or even different songs from those artists depending on what I'm looking for. It's a very subjective matter.
