The Punch-Out! you own is a re-released version that came out around 1990 part of Nintendos Classic Series. I think they lost the license to use Tyson's likeness and also because at the time he had done that interview where he admitted to smacking his wife around.

You couldn't use certain words in "Toys" or anything the government deemed was designed for anyone under the age of 12, and in UK, NES games where considered toys. Words like 'murder', 'rape', 'kill' etc. That's why 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' was renamed 'Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles' in the UK (and thus TMNT as an abbreviation makes no sense over here). This law was changed in 1996 and now only applies to stuff made for kids under 9 years old (so U ratings, rather than PG).
