Buddy, the reason they played out of uniform is BECAUSE of this accident - pipes/drums says many of the uniforms were either burned or suffered smoke damage. Luckily everyone got out safe and the instruments (minus some bass drum sticks) were in good shape. Thank goodness everyone is okay and was able to compete that weekend, regarless of how they looked!
Ya know, the mark of a good band, on the road, with all that stuff going on, and I STILL hear a drum pad and chanter going. Someone's practicing! Can't get some of our people to do that at practice!
Heard Oran made it and competed anyway. Great Job guys.

Just curious, was other vehicles involved? Cannot comprehend a bus fire unless someone was smoking and that is not allowed on buses these days...

The ghost of William Wallace cursed the band for performing out of traditional scottish attire. Next time they might want to wear the kilt.

They got special permission to compete in street clothes because the bus fire burned some of their kilts or ruined them because of the smoke.
