Ville is just such a baby here!)) Such a nestling!)) And now he's such a wise barn owl... His external and inner beauty only grows up.. I find him very interesting, because he's so intelligent and clever, I love reading his poems... he is such a romance itself.. And I adore his English indeed, so many words he uses, so good he speaks... It's always something I can learn from him. Endangered species, really. The only One for our poison time.

this man has had the best voice in rock music for the last 10 years. granted, it is getting worse and worse due to all the smoking and alcohol abuse, but this particular performance is rock solid proof that, at least up until recently, NO OTHER VOCALIST in rock music has as good a tone and ability to improvise as Valo. such a shame he's wasted what could go down as a top ten vocal chords in rock music history. His musical ideas have gone down the drain with such infamies as Screamworks... Okay, maybe 12-14-year-olds out there think that's HIM's best album and they want to chop me into tiny pieces, but even if HIM is my soul band, I absolutely despise that last album... I hope that Ville has only lost it for a while and that they will come back in full strength with next album...

He sings differently on every album and I think he did great work on Screamworks. His voice still the best and you can hear what an amazing notes he takes on concerts in 2010!

Life changes, and music changes along... it's a natural thing, and it's only right for them to play the way they feel. For example, would you eat the same food every day, for years? Of couse not! Things go in periods, and times change. I can see a progression towards Screamworks, actually: I do not think they are denying their "old" style with these new songs. I really like the albums... ALL of them, for different reasons :) and I think their sound is always recongnisable, no matter what song.

Which one I listen to only depends on what I'm in the mood for at the moment. I also agree that HIM always sounds like HIM no matter what album it is. Many people criticize artists for changing a bit, but on the other hand, they would criticize them for being too boring and not changing.

I long for the day when they see the height from which they fell and can see the passion from the real source, that they could tap into to make all of these songs they performed on "Overdrive".
These songs are played by the "HIM" i fell in love with, not just a "Ville's sooooo sexy" shit either.

This is the HIM I fell in love with. Screamworks isn't bad but it is so much more commercial, and that sucks :c Hope their next album will be more like this again! :DD

I wish him was still as heavy as this. Now sad to say HIM isnt HIM anymore. Thats what crack and smoking five packs a day and alcohol does to you though. Ville was pretty rough. Im in love with the band though I always will be. Their fucking amazing.

Life changes, and music changes along... it's a natural thing, and it's only right for them to play the way they feel. For example, would you eat the same food every day, for years? Of couse not! Things go in periods, and times change. I can see a progression towards Screamworks, actually: I do not think they are denying their "old" style with these new songs. I really like the albums... ALL of them, for different reasons :) and I think their sound is always recongnisable, no matter what song.

@Scotessa I agree with you wholeheartedly! I hate when people say that bands have sold-out because their style changes. I love all HIM albums equally. Which one I listen to only depends on what I'm in the mood for at the moment. I also agree that HIM always sounds like HIM no matter what album it is. Many people criticize artists for changing a bit, but on the other hand, they would criticize them for being too boring and not changing.

Can someone help me finding a live version of this song, where Ville kinda screams during the chorus... Well, not so much screaming, just rough and louder than the usual high tone for "So wont you close our eyes." Can't seem to find it now and can't remember which show it's from.
