I've always thought the "New Flame" album was on a par with "Stars". Mick's dad Reg said this was his favorite video--especially when Mick was dancing with "Carmen Miranda".
Im addicted to this amazing song....cant stop playing it...ooooh so seductive!!!! I'll never forget when I went to see them in concert and I was dancing not far from the stage and Mick Hucknall looked up at me and started copying my dance moves on stage..what a very charming man. I was so touched and well excited. One of my best memories ever!

@bjhupy That's funny my friend, what year did you see him in concert im hoping to see him at the 02 in December, as part of Simply Red's final performance.
@saldi27 i agree it's a fantastic song and mick hucknall is brilliant -- but this clip doesn't do either justice. Check out "essexshane" 's upload and even tho' vocals are out of sync, it captures the spirit of the song, unlike this failure.
(cont'd)Truly, for a long time after I started listening to them when Picture Book came out, I thought the guy was a solo act. But you can't build career with session musicians, can you? I've never seen him play any kind of instrument
Everyone who comments on this era of Simply Red seems to agree that the group contributed heavily to the definition of what its musical time period was. And Mick here was for all intents the definition of Simply Red, and all talk about the 'group' quickly defers to a discussion of Hucknall's long hair music days.
Regardless, fantastic song, i saw them live in Glasgow two days ago. It was the first gig of their farwell tour, and they were quite simply Fantastic :-)
Grew up with this music. Together with Sade, Clannad, Micheal Jackson, Phil Collins. I quess it could have turned out worse. This guy made some of the best songs i ever heard.
I concur. The Stars album sends shivers down my spine, especially "Something got me started".His vocals could strip wallpaper! It's a cliche, but they just don't make them like this anymore.
Mick Hucknall's influence in music transcends all musical and cultural genre... too bad his son, Carrot Top, is limited to self-parodying comedy in Las Vegas....
the model pulls stupid faces.

I don't think it's Famke Janssen either. Definitely not 18 years old. She'd have been older than that. This was recorded in 1988-89.
