I heard him being interviewed by Barry Scott a few years ago. He said that they formed the group to do soul music "like Sam & Dave and all that good stuff". Scott seemed a little surprised, asking "how did you get from Sam & Dave to this?" or something like that, as if someone had given Sam & Dave a little LSD. However he got there, it worked. Even when I was in third grade, it was great to hear an eclectic record like this on the radio; nothing else like it!

I remember loosing a little green bag on the track of the old CB&Q in Colorado Springs. It was my only little green bag, and I was not headed home for another month. I had forgot that I was not crazy about going across Cache Le Poudre on the track(s). Sure enough there on the trail was my little green bag. I went back to the crash pad and lost my mind after supper time.LOL Great old song. I love these older songs with clean guitar work through a tube amp. I gave up on green bags though.
