  • i turned on the game and the guitars wont work but when my controller is plugged in its the only thing the game will recognize, how do i use my wireless guitar jero guitar?

  • cool

  • cool but no awesome!!!! chek mine out! Its posted in video resp. CustomChris

  • does this guitar works on guitar hero 3 and guitar hero world tour?

    what about rock band?

  • can you do this for the xbox?? preferably with a wireless controller?

  • No, I couldn't make one, so i had to buy one for the Xbox360. I think it is not possible (I tried a few things), but feel free to experiment and let us know about the results.

  • @YourLittleYuna i think you can play the game with a xbox 360 controller. so if you can you could take it apart and soder every thing you want on it to different buttons. I think that might work.

  • is this a custom song

  • How can a video game be gay?

I don't believe they even have a sexuality, let alone a gender.

  • Busted! this is kinda like gay porn for you isn't it?

  • I already play the guitar (and the bass, too). Guitar Hero is like finger speed exercise for me + listening to music. Beyond that, it is all about interest. If you don't like it, don't play it, don't watch such videos.

  • @TeeBee918 totally agree with that, i play guitar, a real one, and guitar hero helps build up finger speed, anyways nice job on making ur own, try making your own guitar also, custom ones are always better. even better than gibsons

  • Wow! That's amazing! Great work! :D Making a custom guitar can be better than an original one.

    Is your guitar compatible with GH1, GH2, GH80s, GH3, GHA, GHWT, RB1 and RB2?

As I can't buy an official one, maybe I'll make one using your tutorial! :)

  • Do you really wanna play Misirlou on expert by pushing a a button for strumming?

  • It is not a button, read the instructable (link in the description). And it is compatible with all GHs and RBs (of course only if you follow my instructable).

  • wat about star power??

  • Best Idea Ever!

I'm going to make one now

    haha.

  • ewat is the nanme of this song , it sounds catchy

  • It's Holy Diver by DIO.

Well, the Guitar Hero cover version of Holy Diver... but yeah.

  • KAYLEE IS AN ASS GOBLIN

  • does the guitar works with gh3?? in what gh does it works

  • hein brow...

I followed your instructions to make a guitar controller from a ps1 controller but the MOD just worked with GH I...... not worked with GHII, GHII encore 80 and GHII.... I used a ps1 3th party controller....

I want to much more make a guitar controller but i don´t know exactly how do this using the circuits from ps1 or ps2 control.... do you have any other sugestion? thank so much...

  • this was the first gh game i got and holy diver was one of my favorite songs.

  • Is it me or is grim ripper wearing 3D glasses?

  • Guitar Hero: Rock the 80's

  • Yea in GH: 80s

  • luv holy diver!!!! lol.

  • haha good song

  • just for the record, if you have used a ps1 controller to build this guitar, I guarantee you that it'll work in all guitar heroes AND rock bands of playstation 2

  • thats dio

  • can you make one for rock band

  • is tht dio or killswitch ingage ?

  • dio

  • you disgust me

  • u r veri gud at the game :D

  • it's rock the 80's

  • just open up a ps2 conroller, move the wires around, tape it to a guitar modely kinda thing, and ur done

  • thats cool man, do you have some kind of guide? my old ones cord broke and i may need to make my own, soz ne help would be appericated

  • AWsomwe and rraw at the same time! it rawsome! The whole point of the video is to show off the home made guitar and show it works! I dont care if you suck or not, guitar hero is a video game and its suppose to be FUN for people of all ages (even if it's rated E-T)

  • you rock! ya know how those pepole say you suck? well i wanna see another vid with the same guitar on hard, diffrent song, same guitar.

    soniclover88888

  • this is awesome you should do more stuff like this

  • lovely guitar man, a masterpiece ^^ does the "flip" thingy still hold together or do you need to change it once in a while? =)

  • Lol, thats awesome! I love how it looks like a piano!

People need to stfu about if your playing sucks. Not everyone has the time to sit at home and play for hours on end to play on expert. Can't people just play GH to have fun? Wtf, man.

  • F***in' true! Thx for the comment, man!

  • FREAKIN GREAT!! nice work man hopefully i can make one so i can make look like a frikin Warlock.

  • True dat. I play on medium/hard cause I don't spend 16 hours of my day playing guitar hero like some other people do. I thought the purpose of games was to have fun.

On a side note, anyone can go out and buy a GH Guitar but it takes creativity to make one from scratch. Good job man!

  • If only i could go out and buy a controller, it took me liek 3 months to find one, and then it was a shitty 3rd party one. it has floaty buttons, and if the whammy is dwn even a little, it wont work for the whole notes. that has caused a couple of FUCK moments.

  • those 3rd party ones, from psyclone or somethin, aren't too good; I needed an extra guitar just in case someone else came over, and the one I got from them didnt even WORK for 3/5 of the buttons. straight from the box & had to take it back. -trustiest ones are official RedOctane controllers ;)

  • holy diver!

  • nice guitar you have man lol

  • omfg thats too nice to be true you are awesome dude on with your hands and Guitar :))

  • Thx, dude!

  • sdf

  • sorry for the random sdf i was just testing if my commenting limit exteded and it wasnt so i pressed post comment.

  • OMFG TOO NICE TO BE TRUE!

  • that guitar looks like a really big piano nice vid by the way

    :D

  • Holy fuck I want this guitar!

How much would you sell it for?

  • Sorry to disappoint you, but I DO PLAY the real guitar, I've been playing it for about 4 years now and i figured out playing Guitar Hero was a great exercise for my fingers. Believe me, it really worked for me, my fingers are faster and faster... I mastered solos I couldn't before. Don't say things you don't know for sure. So STFU and mind your own business, if I may ask you...

  • Oh he got told there. XD

  • i play real guitar too and guitar hero has helped me a lot

  • wow lol that idiot needs to think before he speaks! nice!

  • can you put on an instructional cause my strum bar broke and i need to make one

  • yeah, ive been wanting a gibson explorer too.

  • pretty cool invention

  • BOOTLEG

  • It is not about money!!!! It's about creativity, badass! Your attitude kills creativity!

  • yeah fuck off dude

  • why does he need to ? if it works the same as a Regular controller i see no need for him to go out and buy a controller when he has a perfectly good one, Not everyone is rich

  • Cristiano ronaldo is the holy diver!

  • is that dio or kill switch engage

  • its dio cause killswitch screams during the song, dio does not.

  • how do you make something out of scratch? what is scratch? dont you mean from scratch?

  • Ok, you're right! Sry, I'm not a native English speaker!

  • umm, thats the same thing

  • DIO HOLY DIVER BAD MOTHER FUCKIN ASS

  • Read the description before posting... By the way I've gotten a bit better since then. And remember, this is not a "I show you how good I am" kind of video (YouTube is full of them), I am not showing my talent of playing, but only how well my "homemade contraption" works. This video and the instructable was made to encourage people to DIY.

  • You are only posting, yet you missed the point, n00b!

  • Pyrose, shut the fuck up you dirty cunt.

go wash out your mother's cunt again.

  • hard is hard. some people have lives and cant practice every minute of the day clicking buttons on a fake guitar. so stfu.

  • i dont either, i can play on expert... you just suck O_O

  • lol that was a week ago. i have improved much

  • needs more light

  • strets must be putting the color in-order and I really like ur home invention by the using of an old ps controllers for recycling. U r one amazing guy has the knowledge all the PS technology.

  • nice job thats awesome i now want an xbox 360 guitar controller on which u dont have to strum

  • bad

  • could be reel could be fake just need another controller to GH and one that looks like it hehe but it looks pretty reel may i say

  • omg your wierd

  • your cool........

  • that chart is offcial :P

It's on Guitar Hero Rocks The 80's, but its on hard.

  • hahahahaha nub lol

  • jesus AWESOME!nice dude

  • awsome guitar

  • nice job cool guitar

  • I'm just curious how you figured out that you need to short out left on the dpad, if you've never seen a real guitar hero controller. And that changes what the configurations for the buttons. (Instead of the four shoulder buttons and X, when the left is shorted out, it's X, square, triangle, circle, and R2, and also allows for the strum bar)

I made my own quite a few months before you did (check out my videos), but I used a lot fewer materials than you did, and mine cost almost nothing to build.

  • I was navigating in the menu of GH1 and dunno why I pressed the left dpad. The tutorial text appeared. After that I figured out somehow that the PS2 pad doesn't work in GH2, but a PS1 pad does. This part was the harder one to figure out. I thought it was impossible to make a guitar for GH2. Mine cost almost nothing, too - I built it from the materials and components I found at home. Yours is a great idea, much easier to build than mine. I had been making mine for circa 3 days.

  • dud cud u plz mak a vid ubout makin a guitar like dat

  • I can't make one, sorry, 'cuz the guitar controller is already done and I won't make another one. Instead you should check my instructable. You can find the link in the description of the vid.

  • ok thx 4 even puttin the instructoins

  • oh yeah in your instructable whats the company and item # of that switch and where did you get it I need some more info on that switch! you didn't go in details very much.

  • Cuz I dunno, I have just found it at home. Sorry. You'll need to experiment with switches, you know, mine is not the only possible solution. Check the comments of my instructable, some people came up with some good ideas...

  • oh yeah doing this with a PS1 controller with no analogs would work but just with no whammy bar right?

  • I'm afraid it doesn't work at all!!! You made me curious and I tried it with a PS1 pad with no analog sticks and it wasn't even recognized as a regular controller in the game, not talking about a guitar controller. So it is impossible to play GH with such a controller...

  • Hey guy I quited the idea of modding it inside the one for my pc..It's so small and looks goofy. You can see it at my videos.Anyway I'm making my totally custom case from wood and everything's ok.But I wonder about the wammy bar..Does it have to be analog??Can't it just be digital? And apart from that in your instructable you say to solder it on UCC and GROUND.Where the hell or what the hell is UCC??Can you give me an explanation of what it is ir what it does?? THX

  • Ucc means voltage (+), GND is (-). I guess the PlayStation uses 3.3 or 3.6 Volts for the controllers. In the 3rd step, there is a "scheme" for all the required pins - where can you find all those things. I believe that picture is quite self explanatory. I guess you could make a digital whammy (which is not too much fun), solder a switch between Ucc and the trimmer pin (or maybe GND and trimmer pin, dunno exactly) - I believe it should work that way too.

  • Oh I usually call Ucc Vcc..Ok so the wammy bar is a button that makes short of the Vcc with Ground..Doesn't this damage the ps2??Anyway.I'll try it..

  • Connecting Ucc and the trimmer pin for star power is not the same as shorting Ucc with Ground!!! The last one would really cause a short circuit - so don't do that. You have to solder a switch between Ucc and the left analog stick's Y axis trimmer pin (check the picture in step 3!!!!). And Ucc and Vcc is the same and exact thing (maybe it depends on the region, how people call it)!

  • OK thx for the info!!I was about to do it with a controller with no analogs so now it makes sense!!Oh and btw I tried a red octane guitar today and the trimmer is analog! So I'll make mine in 2 or 3 weeks depending on when I get back from holidays(I leave in 2 days)and post a video of it.I have already cut the body and the fretboard to be an actual design of my bass!!Expect something good!!!

  • No, no, I believe a controller with no analog sticks would not work! Of course, the whammy is analog! Alright, I'm looking forward to it! Enjoy your holidays!

  • i was wondering if making this guitar without the motion sensor(pressing select for star power) would it still work because you didnt tell how to connect the motion sensor to all those gadgets.

  • How to connect? Of course you must solder everything! And to where? It is covered in the 2nd step of my instructable! Read it carefully! Of course it would work without the sensor, but it is really easy to make one! There is an istructable about that, too! (In guitar mode star power is either select or L2)

  • i will buy that

  • thats not fake. i was going to do the same thing with a ps2 controller a while back. All you have to do is rewire the playstation controllers buttons in a guitar hero pattern

  • Thanx, guys!!!!

  • That's awesome man!!I could have never thought that by pressing left on the controller acts like a guitar!!I'm modding mine that I have made for my pc to work with my ps2 too!!You kick ass!!Keep rocking!! Also nice instractable!!

  • nice guitar

  • wow thats pretty cool.

  • Great custom guitar. Ugly as sin but impressive to be made.

  • don't sweat it people are douche bags like that man.

that took some creative thinking and hard work so good job dude! maybe try doing a warlock or something next.

  • Thx a lot, man!

  • dude you rock.. incredible job.

  • Thanx! Finally some appreciation of my hard work (I had been making it for 3 days)!

  • That is cool, but it is pretty ugly. Did you just take the parts inside the origional controller and put them in there?

  • No, I put in there a PS1 controller. Would it have a meaning if I made that way? And please, all of you, check out the link in the description, at least the instructables one, because there is a in-depth tutorial about how the guitar controller was made!!!

  • SOOOOOO FAKE

  • You think so? Check out my instructable! The link is in the comments! You'll see!!
