well thats too bad, because unless you change the sock dump valve or put an blow off valve "when" you get your GTI, all after market intakes virtually sound the same.
That air is going to get so hot by the time that it gets to your turbo that the "cold" air intake will be worthless. Go with a short ram intake...you are getting more air which is all you need. Don't buy into these $300 intake's, they are all "filters on a stick."
@mando515 well thats why i bought a carbon fiber intake. carbon fiber is VERY heat resistant, it keeps the hot engine from warming up the cold air coming directly from the front gill. this intake has the trait of a "ram intake" by not having a long intake housing, but at the same time it has the property of a "cold air intake" by keeping hot air out. its the best of both worlds :-)
@persianfob ur right that carbon fibre isn't a good conductor of heat, but you should know that carbon fibre is actually really sensitive to heat. with constant heat being applied, the seams might actually start to loosen and you get warps. fyi
did air intake really increase the tubro noise that much or is there a bov on it?

@themisSs13 Tsi is referring to the engine type.
vw GTI is the name of the car, TSI is the engine of the car.

Will heat soak not affect a stock setup?
alro717 2 years ago
Heat soak could make a aftermarket intake perform worse.
