Awesome twist-out!!!!!!! I'm loving it! For my twist-out this week I used JBCO & OMG the results were defined & so nice. Now I'm planning on trying this technique for my next twist-out =) keep the sugestions coming!!!! Thanks
so in this video, you did NOT use the leave in conditioner right? you just used water? and i didn't catch the name of the leave in conditioner in the white bottle that you wanted to try--what's it called?
MrsHair Today mention you in her video for her twist out and I had to come and checkout your channel. I have been wanting to use grease in my hair because I feel my hair does better with it and my hair texture is very much like yours 4a/4b in the front and 4c in the back. My hair has been looking dull and very dry and I think grease is the answer for it. So, I am going to go and find me some Crown Royal and do the challenge. Thanks for sharing
Hello jcokes7 I wanted to know how the royal crown is working for you now. I looked at the other grease twist out videos but I failed to see the results of the month long trial. If I missed it please let me know and in which video to refer to because I would love to see the results. Thank you so much.
@4MeHeDied1 Hi I only used it consistently for one month. I proved my point after the challenge that grease does work and it's my rotation for my twistouts.
Just beautiful! I have some Royal Crown hair grease under my bathroom sink and I'm digging it out TODAY! Today is hair wash day, and I will be twisting with Royal Crown and water. I hope my twists turn out as beautiful as yours did.
I am going to give royal crown a try but right now I am using blue magic grease and it is amazing! And I am soo happy that I did not buy all those expensive natural hair products! I think it is all hype and just taking advantage of natural black women and their money. Ever since I went natural I only spend about 20 dallors a year on natural hair products when before I spent about 2,000 dallors a year on weaves and perm!
So cute! I'm gonna give Royal Crown a try now! I've been doing your "knotty look" method for the past few weeks (but I go in at the roots with a pick to lift it) and I love how my twistouts turn out now. Love your videos!
Ok! I'm a believer! I never knew why we stopped using grease in the first place. My hair loved hair grease back in the day, but like most of us, we've been told its the devil! I'm going back to hair grease and let you know how it works for me.
Girl I love that color and your twist out is awesome!! You make me wanna go grab some grease. I might need to raid my cabinets to see if some is hiding back there.
OMG. We have been bamboozled. I tried this last night at one just took down my hair best twist out ever.. it seems like now I will be able to predict my hair. So all these freaking products I have in my cabinet. I'm pissed.
Great video. Yup, I remember my mom using Royal Crown on our hair and having longer hair back then. You know I hate when people say hope you don't have problems later.....You know we never experienced any problems when we used this product years ago and it grew our hair. I think all the new Hype of natural hair promotes New products, which are more expensive, not for our benefit always, but the company that sells them or the person promoting them. Thanks for reality check.
I tried hair grease after watching your vid and foreseenatural's vid.... I must say I loved it. My twist out was sooo nice! Thanks, girl! You always have amazing hair!!!
@uniquelyme96 I retwist my hair every single night because I prefer a well defined look. I apply a tiny bit of grease every other night to each section just a tiny bit.
Let me tell you, honestly I used this for 2 yrs straight (some years ago) and grew my hair from your length to hair down my back. I washed my hair once a week and used this and only this consistently. I just said 2 wks ago that I would start back just to grow it to its old length. Your hairs GORG!!!! I believe in the GREASE!!!
Your results were Fabulous!!!! My grandmother uses this on her hair down to this day!!! My mama used it on my hair and i have several ol school products i use including cream of nature & blue magic...so i sho nuff will try this! Thanks! P.s i found ur link thru african export's facebook post
Very cool to see this...I decided to go old school and break out my jar or "hair food" that green stuff lol. My mom used that on my hair and blue majic long before a 30 dollar Carols daughter or miss any body...their was Linda, with the unbreakable comb. I wonder if we belive so much hype about our hair and forget that when we were little girls our hair was long and strong because we ghad women who loved us and didn't want us looking a horrible mess!! Enjoyed the vid xoxo
@myajayla I'm still experimenting but this week I plan to use ORS Creamy Aloe :) I would use what my mom used to wash my hair with but they don't make PRELL anymore lol or Balsam
omg i love ur video just found ur channel threw ae fb page gonna try dat old school royal crown cant go wrong our hair back in the day used to be the bomb.com seriousley
OMGEEE Tried the hair grease last nite after watching your video and my twist out has NEVER looked so good! Its SHINY, elongated, And bouncy! I'm so glad i ddnt waste my money on those expensive products..keep making videos and we will keep watching and learning from one another...
girl, girl, girl i tried the hair grease (Blue Magic Super Gro) on a dry twist out damp it with water and hair grease. let me tell you this is my best twisted out ever!!! More shine, bounce, define my curls, and elongation on my type 4bc hair type . You are right! We overlooked the hair grease this my staple. thank you !!!!! Love your channel!!!
This is beautiful as usual so of COURSE I had to try it. I went out today and found the Royal Crown (3.19) but opted to get the dollar store version. It's African Crown but its the same three ingredients and the exact same consistency and feel and it only costs $1. I've just untwisted the twists I put in with it and even after just a few hours, I LOVE it. The definition is awesome and my twist out looks gorgeous. So I am with you until the end of October on this one. Good tip!!!!

beautiful,i started u blue magic again,my mom used on our hair when we were lil girls and it worked then an it works now,a lot of yt tell u to use all the different natural hair products because they r getting paid to say thatthose products work better for natural hair,im happy to see ppl r jst doing what works for themselves instead of getting caught up in the hype
I love this! I have been natural for 6 months and still trying to learn what works for my hair. I recently figured out that I get more curl definition when I use EcoStyler on dry hair instead of doing a wash and go. I have been thinking about doing videos documenting my experiences with different products and the results I get but have been a little apprehensive. I think I might start out and try some hair grease products. I will do a video response if I work up enough nerve haha..thanks again
My 12yr old has been wearing twistouts of late. She has extremely thick hair and after watching your video, I decided to try the Oyin Burnt Sugar/water on her twistout and can I tell you how pretty it turned out?! It was defined and had a very nice shine. It lasted all day long without/much frizz even through gym class today! Let's see if I can replicate those results tomorrow! LOL
Sis your hair looks great. I just hope you don't face problems down the road. You know what petroleum can do to the hair and long term damage. I don't use grease, never in 30 years put it in any of my customers hair. I remember running from petroleum, but that was my issue. Yours may be different. Good luck. Can't wait to see the results. How long are you trying this for?
Again right on time. I cant use grease because my scalp breaks out, but because of this I stopped twisting with gel products and use creams sealed with light oil now. Hair looks great. Thanks.
I love this! I am going to join you in doing this for how ever long. Just dont think I'am going to go out and buy a lot of different pomades, I'll just use the ones I already have. Your videos are the bomb! Keep it up.
I always have royal crown in my arsenal. I grew up using it and I used it on my children. I have used it to do twist outs also. Chicoro mentions using petrolatum on her hair. Many of my sisters have waist length hair and that is what our mom used on us. Good advice. I love this video.
your hair is amazing! i didn't grow up using royal crown, but i sure used blue magic and will all of the mineral oil or petroleum it didn't leave me bald.
omg! it looks amazing!! and the idea of not spiting the twist at the end...GENIUS! I'm glad I saw this video! :D I don't have any money for either product right now, but I'm gonna sub :D
Looks great, I cant wait to try it now. I showed my dad your hair with royal crown and he cant believe how awesome it looks. Like I said in your first video he's olschool and uses nothing but that grease and he has 3b hair and thats all he ever used. Love the shine too
I'm joining your challenge. My texture is similar to yours. I've been getting my best twist out results with Jamaican Mango and Lime Creme Wax, which has a grease like texture. I'm going to buy Royal Crown from the pharmacy. Thanks for the tip!
I use the Shine and Define with the burnt sugar pomade from Oyin for my twist outs and I love it! That is my staple and I will never use another for my twist out....OK never say never, but it has to be AS good and cheaper ! LOL!!!
Cute! I'm going to try your untwisting technique since I usually hate the ends of my hair in a twist out more. I sure hope this method gives me a better look. Never tried grease either but it seems to work.
I been thinking a lot lately, how we or I buy all these products geared toward natural hair, but old school products helped me to have healthy strong hair when I was younger and all my mom used was a hard bristle brush and good ol Dax. I think I'll try this on a twist out. You're hair looked great.
your hair looks awesome! i think i may try to do a twist out with the burnt sugar pomade too! shea butter based creams also make my hair super greasy feeling (maybe i use too much?)
Your hair is beautiful! and I love ur videos. I love the no music thing... Just talk to me...lol. I'm new so I'm addicted to watching tons of videos and just started making my own last week. I don't have the same hair type as you, but I do love watching! Thanks for sharing!
My mother never used grease on my hair. And would pitch a royal fit everytime she had to wash my hair after my grandmothers or aunts put it in my head...but maybe they were just to heavy-handed w/ it. I do remember breaking out a lil from wherever it transferred to my skin during the day or at night.
OK... I am doing this tomorrow morning... Your hair looks wonderful... I don't have any crown royal though, I will be using dax ( the black one).. That stuff grows my girls hair like crazy... Thanks.... Again, Your hair looks great
You might think this sounds crazy but I saw a vid of someone using Crisco and I tried it and baaaby! It works fabulous for twist outs, as a skin moisturizer and make up remover!
When I first became natural, I used some grease for my twist out and it was the bomb, but the more and more youtube videos I watched, I quit using it..I love your hair btw, your twistout comes out great with what ever you use...

I'm joining your challenge. My texture is similar to yours. I've been getting my best twist out results with Jamaican Mango and Lime Creme Wax, which has a grease like texture. I'm going to buy Royal Crown from the pharmacy. Thanks for the tip!

My mother never used grease on my hair. And would pitch a royal fit everytime she had to wash my hair after my grandmothers or aunts put it in my head...but maybe they were just to heavy-handed w/ it. I do remember breaking out a lil from wherever it transferred to my skin during the day or at night.
Could you recommend some good sulfate shampoos?
INCALCULABLE629 5 months ago
@INCALCULABLE629 I can't recommend a good one yet, I'm going to have to experiment with some shampoos first but I will keep my subbies posted.

"Live by the grease, die by the grease" is what I say. =) I really do prefer that over some oils. I get better definition.

You might think this sounds crazy but I saw a vid of someone using Crisco and I tried it and baaaby! It works fabulous for twist outs, as a skin moisturizer and make up remover!
