  • I'm a Biker and and I 'd say the first Buke was moving a lot faster than the one who passed . When I'm on my bike or in my Van I just naturally consider everyone around me is an idiot LOL and watch my speed and I use my horn to be sure I have eye contact.

    ;0

  • @Stargateomega, totally agree

  • wonder how many people saw the bike the first time he looked? bet 90% of us that did are bikers

  • lmfao

  • Cagers never look for each other much less a motorcycle. Though they do hear warning shots. LOL

  • As someone who would rather ride the bike then a car (25K km/ year on my ducati, and 10K km with my volvo amazon) i'd rather see this video 'featured' instead of all the other bullshit video's!

'Daily driver' motorcyclists are unfortunately getting scarcer... So is the awareness of car drivers about the can's and cannot's of a bike...

I can be overtaking 20 cars where a car could overtake 5 or so.

Yet, i have to be very careful about surface of the road conditions especially in bad weather.

  • i thought James Potter died from Voldemort...

  • at 00:15 his speed reads 0

  • true riders united stopping to show respect search google

We are a MOTORCYCLE BROTHERHOOD, not a Motorcycle Club, or Social Club, or AMA Members. We are a unique and origional origanization dedicaited to BROTHERHOOD and this is what our members truley believe in."BROTHERS BEFORE OTHERS".We ride hard, play hard, and keep to ourselves.

  • am i the only one that noticed that the motorcycle was going like 5 mph, according to his speedometer

  • @Tr0piiCxxThuNd3r

that might be if front wheel is blocked by brakes

  • @Tr0piiCxxThuNd3r did you notice that at 00:10 there is no bike and at 00:19 there is a bike...?

  • @xthisisnotwillx It's called 'camera angle'...

  • @101johngalt - Actually if you Watch carefully, at the 0:085 mark (you know, between 0:08 and 0:09) you CAN see the bike approaching. Look right about where the guys lower lip is.

  • Why are they only showing him looking to the right ONCE. What, motorcycles mostly come from the left somehow?

  • @A550RGY In the US, motor vehicles tend to drive on the right side of the road, and traffic coming from the left is closer and harder to spot than traffic coming from the right.

  • @crazy4sian I guess so... the advice still doesn't sit right with me.

  • @A550RGY The saying goes, 'look both ways before crossing'. What doesn't sit right with you? This is just a commercial telling drivers to look out for motorcyclists. If you're smart, you'll heed the advice.

  • @crazy4sian The fact that you should look twice to the right as well, is the part.

  • @A550RGY Now you're just nitpicking a commercial. For all intents and purposes, you should always look twice for motorcyclists.

  • @A550RGY Wherever you look first, you should double check again real quick to make sure you didn't miss anything the first time

  • @RHeckman00 So why wouldn't you also double check the second direction you looked? You could've missed something there too.

  • well we made one in england to and just like the american one they just dont do it because afterwards the car driver is still happily sitting in his car totally safe. Now in reality if the bike had been going to fast it would have ended up inside the car killing whoever if they made adverts like that then maybe car drivers might think god im gonna die to and not just the biker and make them think twice. Ride safe guys

  • Fruckkkkkkkkk..... damn.... I cringe every time I watch this (and I watch it often). I mean because that was ME (on the bike) December 6th, 1981... except I most likely went thru the frucker's Windshield.... I don't remember schitt ~ just the aftermath, which continues to date! Nuff' said.....

  • Sorry if I offended you. I just thought I'd mention the fact about timing. I was just adding to the facts that the bike could reach there easily from the left while he looked to the right. I never called anyone a moron. It matters no how it was filmed. It was just a message, nothing more.

  • There are the idiots on bike that go super fast and split lanes like idiots, but the idea here is just to look twice. Something most drivers don't bother to do. On the flip side though the motorcyclist in this position needs to do the same thing!

  • This commercial is bs only because the filming is so shitty. I get the message but come on, the guy looked both ways (not even a quick glance but a good look) and there was NOTHING, then he pulls out 4 feet and suddenly there's an extremely loud motorcycle ramming his door? Please.

  • If you knew anything, you'd know that in the time the guy looked left, then right and then pulled out that is probably 3-5 seconds. Plenty of time for a bike to travel from where he is not seen to where he is seen.

  • @scubarider1 Shut up. I'm so tired of people coming on here and starting with things like "if you weren't a moron blah blah." No shit i agree with the "look twice" message. Like i said the way they filmed it was stupid. If they really wanted to get the message across the guy should have been blaring music, talking on his cellphone and barely glanced in maybe one direction. Thats what most of the dumbasses that cause these accidents are doing anyway. This guy looks like he drives like my grandma

  • Kudos to the Idaho agency which paid for this spot. It should be running nationally.

  • @IHeartKimP The point is that you don't know where he was 1 second ago. The bike may have just turned down that road - bikes accelerate quickly. Anyway, things change quickly and not just with regard to motorcycles.

When your eyes give you a mental picture of what is going on, it keeps that picture even if the reality of the situation has changed. When driving, it's important to update that mental picture as often as possible.

  • The crash always makes me giggle

  • Headlights should be mandatory at all hours on ALL vehicles. Dusk is the worst time of day for visuals. All these rules apply to all vehicles and cars AND bikes need to adhere to the speed limit. In my field of work, I've seen this situation in which people pull out in front of a fire truck barreling down with sirens and lights. Drive defensively!!

  • @Ianavak A lot of bikes have lights that turn on when you turn the key.

My '97 ZZR250 has it, and all the bikes I used for training did yoo.

  • @leagle0147 too*

  • @Ianavak motorcycle's would become invisible in a sea of light's.

  • I've ridden many thousands of miles over the last 40 years, without a single accident. That includes several cross country trips (twice in icy winters), the autobahns of Germany, the backwards roads of England, crowded city streets, and more. I don't blame that success on car drivers, any more than I'd blame the opposite on them. I'm solely responsible for what happens when I climb onto a motorcycle. When riding in a responsible and properly defensive manner, there will not be accidents. Period.

  • @stewartx5 It's excellent you take responsibility for your actions and ride safely, but plently of accidents that occur aren't the responsibility of the rider. Even for you, no matter how you ride there is a possibility you will be hit by an irresponsible driver, and theres nothing you can do about it. Blind corners? The rider can't take 100% responsibility.

  • @soul111smasher '.. no matter how you ride ..'

Don't agree. Never will put MY safety in someone else's hands. Blind corners? Slow down, prepare to brake, & don't proceed normally until safely past. Assume worst & be prepared for it. Watch traffic all the way through intersections, for example. If a vehicle isn't slowing, respond instead of assuming. In other words, don't get caught off guard. Ever! Ride within skill level, pushing that only when safe to do so. Common sense stuff, really.

  • @stewartx5 Sorry, i left partway through writing that reply, then came back. What I meant to say about blind corners was what could you do when a car comes speeding around in your lane? The way I've seen some drivers do it, i don't see how anyones reflexes could physically get them out of the way. That was basically what i was saying to back up that 'no matter how you ride' statement. I'm thinking of my street as i write this, it's very bendy and some pricks in cars just go flying around corners

  • While not all of us agree that these videos are completely accurate, as a soon-to-be rider, I hope we can all agree these commercials/ads should be on TV more to increase awareness

  • Look once look twice think bike

  • this should be a akrapovic exhaust advert lol be heard!!!!

  • thieves haha jk :P

  • I almost get hit by a car EVERYDAY because they do not stop for stop signs, they do not signal for lane changes and they do not give a f*** that i cant stop on a dime so they cut me off!!!! Ive been critically injured by a car making a left turn... so what did he think the thing was with the bright lights coming directly in front of his vehicle? that was me.

  • A buddy of mine gave me a ride a while back, as we pulled into the parking lot i commented on all the nice bikes on the road he said "what bikes". We passed at least 15 bikes in a twenty minute ride. Ride like no one can see you.

  • shoot dude this is exactly the kind of stuff a motorcycle training class will teach you about.

most of accidents of motorcyclists occur at intersections.

    So seriously, LOOK TWICE

  • well i live in oklahoma moved here from new jersey. and me and one my freinds(with his wife riding 2 up) were riding one day i have an 2005 yamaha r6 he had a 2000 suzuki hayabusa and we came to an stop light intersection i was in the other idk why i just always feel more safe and well a woman who was on her cell phone (of course) we were both stopped with both feet down and everything and she continued on and rearended and it killed his wife and he had to learn to walk again. irresponsible

  • My cousin was killed on his motorcycle because another driver wasnt paying attention and clipped him. This commercial fucked me up real bad when I saw it because I was really close to my cousin..

  • i knew it wasnt there the first time!!!!!!

  • i like how theres no motorcycle at first but then all of a sudden theres one when the narrator says look again.

  • Should've gone to specsavers.

  • LOL! That was friggin' hilarious! That biker got owned!

  • @philip120683 i hope a semi trailer rams you inside your fucking car

so you know how it feels

  • This is the funniest commerical everrrr!! I love it!! Haha

  • laughed my ass off when i saw this on tv

  • I just spilled my ice cream all over my lap when I saw this on TV! It sure makes you jump. Scary.

  • When I come to an intersection, I am on point. And I don't believe in "jinxing" my self, so, I have never been in a bike accident, or caused one.

  • man that dum ass ran in to a car the ass was not looking

  • This commercial made me jump out off the couch.

Would that make me a fried couch potato?

  • I like this but theres something about the British voice over guy that makes the British advert seem more powerful. I'm not sure if thats cause I'm use to hearing the British accent though.

  • Las motos y bicicletas, tienen un perfil 3 veces mas pequeño que el de un auto. Mira dos veces....

  • I keep my high beam on during the day, it helps others see me sooner and it doesn't blind in the daylight. When I approach a car at intersection I have my fingers and toes on the brake pedals ready. My thumb is on the horn. If that car moves even a fraction I nail the horn and the brakes. That has saved me at least three times. People in cars should get it in their head that a full sized Harley CAN smash the hell out of them if they pull out. Maybe fear could motivate them to look AGAIN...

  • @HarleylovinChelley

I'm with you mate, I always have the horn and brakes covered when I see a car at a junction and it's saved my ass before now. Still had this EXACT thing happen to me, though. Bad times.

  • @sidwills Thanks for the emotional support. I forgot to mention I will flip the headlight from hi to low a couple times too. There is a module that can make the headlight do that continuously which really catches the eye but I'm not sure if I want to go that route. For now I do it manually when I suspect a cager will pull out.

  • Yeah, they remade it alright...remade the hell out of it, right down to the slogan.

  • Haha i know the guy who played the motorcyclist : )

  • @ROGUEDETAIL Is he ok?? :-(

  • @VanDiemen16

lol yeah he's fine, he is a stuntman for a reason :P

  • looks like the motorcyclist was riding too fast.

  • @tracerit

    Looks like you're trolling =)

  • If everyone rode motorcycles and saved gas(and materials) the world would be green and there would be significantly less deaths due to vehicle accidents.(In a perfect world)

Too bad you'd rather have a radio and air conditioner rather then save gas and lives. F*** squids and posers that speed.

  • @selectedtemptations

Your statement is false, if everyone drove a motorcycle you'd have doubled maybe tripled even the exhaust fumes. As often cars function for the transport of multiple people. Say normally you have 4-5 people in your car (a family), and all of a sudden you all drive motorcycles. Get what I'm getting at?

And anyone who has a motorcycle maxes it out at some point, and thats OK as long as you don't endanger anyone else. Wanting to show off is what people gets killed.

  • @LithCS silly argument...depends on how you drive...hell you can make the worlds most economical car have a mpg of a sportscar if u drove it like an idiot

  • @thetttttttttttt I'm sure, but before you continue on such a statement, try finding an economical motorcycle that can transport the exact same payload as a car. You won't find any.

And that's good, because quite frankly motorcyclists are a separate batch of people, I don't want retarded cagers on motorcycles. ;)

  • @LithCS your points would have much more weight to them if what u said happened more.....I see all the time people in 4x4 with nothing in at all.

  • The Car is still "left hand" drive ????

  • @TheHairygeorge All cars Manufactured for the U.S. are left hand drive. Cars in the U.K. are right hand drive.

  • Bikes are dangerous.

  • When you drive a bike on the road you take a very big risk. What is merely a fender-bender for cars can often be fatal for bikers. Also...most people who pull out in front of bikers don't do so because of stupidity or a callous disregard for life - they really don't see the biker who can sometimes blend in surprisingly well with the background. Think about it. (I've recently lost 2 relatives on bikes in 2 different accidents)

  • @ZQPYU

it showed the bike in the 3rd look when he said "look, look, THEN LOOK AGAIN"

  • This commercial is pointless. Why would I say this after having been hit by two cars during my 35 years of riding motorcycles and bicycles on the street? The first take in the commercial did not show a bike to the left. Only on the last take is a bike seen approaching the intersection. Motorist that hit motorcyclist and are at fault, look right through the motorcycle while it is plainly in sight because they are looking for cars. Looking for specific object leaves others at risk.

  • he moved his head BEFORE the bike hit him....poor effort.

  • There should also be service announcements for bikers as well telling of being defensive riders. Having the proper training, knowing your limits and the limits of the machine you are riding can avoid alot of accidents and injuries. Not every accident is about cager error

  • amcamdam26 and simon44 are both right. The advert is does not accurately depict the incident. That being said, the fact is that people do not take time to look.

I ride a big Gold Wing, and wear a really bright neon yellow jacket, and still have near misses often. In fact, just three months ago, I was rear ended. $4000 damage to the bike, but only some bruises to me.

  • If you knew anything about judging speed you would know that the motorcycle was only going about 25 MPH. I suspect that you are not even old enough to have a drivers license.

  • Comment removed

  • why have you written 4 comments on the same video saying the more or less the same stupid statement. still bitter because mommy never let you get a bike?

    cheer up you miserable git

  • keep dreaming you wannabe...immature noobs like you dont even drive. lol.

  • Yesterday my boyfriend sufferd an accident the same situation with this. He is well he was lucky - he brokes only his right hand. The moto is worst.

Unfortunatley the road is full of those who didn't realize how important is to be mindful when they're driving.

I am sorry about those who suffered the same thing.

  • Why is there always some c**t saying "yeh, well what about the biker, was he being safe? Where I live bla bla bla" That question will be in a different video, this one addresses the fact that car drivers often fail to see bikers, that's it.

  • @matt23540 wtf do u mean u cant just be ignorant like that u have to talk about both things u idiot... the way ur saying it i could say it too.... the BIKER failed to see the car.. it doesnt work like that. in this vid there were no fault of the drivers as he DID look both ways and a bike doesnt just appear like that in a second. THATS it.

  • @matt23540 The motorcyclist had right of way. So as long as he was following speed limit, he was safe. He probably could have swerved to avoid the car, but the cager (motorcyclist slang for car driver) should have made sure that the bike wasn't there.

  • People shouldn't just look twice for bike they should look twice for everything. If your talking about the Video then yes cpcoasternut you are an ass hat as the car driver had a stop sign the bike had the right of way. The driver should have been paying more attention you don't look blindly while crossing a street. Anyone who does should stay home. Or have someone else take them.

  • cpcoasternut, you are really displaying your ignorance with your comments for the whole world to see.

  • Are you a motorcyclist??? Doesn't sound like it...we ride like that cause people like you don't see us...we ride like NO one sees us...and that's the fact...next time drive around and notice guys on two wheelers...there's alot of us out there....and yes there are alot of idiots on bikes as well....those people don't count...

  • Comment removed

  • This video is exactly what drivers do, yet he needs a cell. Yakking on the cell, turning left, looking right. at least 3 during a 1-2 hour ride!

  • you do realize that if the car has a stop sign then yes, you do need to stop for the motorcycle?

motorcycles dont think they own the road, yes some are bad aggressive drivers but that doesnt mean ALL of them all. lets not throw everyone into the same category becuase im sure as hell my dad doesnt believe he owns the road.

  • they need to fucking air this everywhere!

  • the bike wasn't in the middle of it's lane, and going way too fast, he also didn't anticipate the driver pulling out.

I'm a bike myself so not singling out drivers, but these adverts make no difference at all and all you really have as a biker is your own riding style to keep you safe.

  • look at motorcycles speedometer :)

  • Comment removed

  • i always look left right left in a RIGHT turn ...

    but i am a motorcyclist

  • Theres a huge flaw to this advert and its that the biker is not in the view in the first example but he is in the second example which is suppose to represent the same situation repeated. In saying that though I hope people see through this and really do take notice to the purpose of this important advert.

  • To be fair though he was fucking caning it

  • unfortunatly an italian version didn't had made, and motorcyclist go ahead dieing

  • I am a rider and I think it is great that commercials like these are being made to increase motorcycle safety in roads, but I must say that this video displayed something pretty weird. The car had its front already inside the intersection for a good amount of time when the bike hit it. The car only moved about a foot when the bike made contact to the driver side door. Even if the car didn't move a foot from its position, the rider would still hit the left front wheels of the car.

  • stunts and camera angles my friend.

  • 0:10 dang look twice before u hit the Gas!!!

  • dude i saw the bike around the guys head

    should have gone to spec-savers

  • i wish american tv channels would air alot more of these kinds of commercials instead of all the useless ones.

  • Will you remove the comment made by fetish2006? I would like to use this video as part of a motorcycle safety presentation, but can't with the language used.

  • to bad its not as simple as making a video like this to stop this from happening.i have plenty of friends and fear their lives when they ride because there are so many stupid drivers out there. Goes both ways people, bikers need to keep there distance from cehicles so they give them a chance to notice they are there. Also seems like some of these accidents could be avoided if the biker was paying attention too!!!

  • 0:12-PWNED!

  • Is it really the sole fault of car drivers that there are so many motorcycle related accidents? Or do motorcyclists share some of the blame for riding around at high speeds on tiny vehicles that offer no protection whatsoever? Not to mention the bozos that weave in and out of cars in traffic endangering everyone out there. Certainly it doesn't hurt for everyone to be more cautious and aware of their surroundings, but if you're not ready to accept the inherent risks of bikes, don't ride them.

  • of course both are to blame some of the time. but most accidents could be avoided with responsible riding and car drivers looking properly

  • Yes it is.

Because motorcycles are small and offer little protection means they shouldn't be ridden? We should all be driving big gas guzzling SUV's because they can take collisions because were too lazy to pay attention to driving? Wow, get off your high horse and pay attention on the road. I have been almost hit by inattentive drivers too many times to count. Yes, today was just another one of them.

  • Ride a motorcycle and maybe you'll get an idea. Obviously I am MUCH more careful or I wouldn't be typing this. Since 100% of your attention needs to be on the road, you start noticing just how many people are simply not paying attention, talking or texting on a cell, make up, drifting all over, changing lanes and turning without looking or signaling, etc. Every day I see this MANY times. Drivers, please stop being so %^&*ing lazy. Quit making excuses for yourself. It might save a life.

  • Look, if you to argue over who is safer, there are tons of examples of motorcyclists doing stupid, dangerous things like speeding, cutting people off, tailgating, darting in between cars (even in a traffic jam!), riding on the shoulder, blowing through stop signs, and doing wheelies and other tricks on the freeway. I've seen it all first hand. Yes, drivers need to be more careful, but please don't try to tell me that motorcyclists are any more responsible. They're human just like the rest of us.

  • We all need to be aware. And, there are always those who could improve their safety skills on both sides. But, let me ask you something. This sounds like a typical response from someone who has never done much motorcycle riding. How many miles have you, yourself ridden? Have you really seen what it's like from the view of the motorcyclist? Cell phone drivers, putting on makeup, eating, changing cd's, anything that diverts the driver's attention puts us in great danger. Think about it.

  • I don't need to ride a motorcycle to know what car drivers are like. I see all the same stuff you see--a bunch of jackasses being irresponsible and putting our lives in danger. The only thing that puts motorcyclists at greater risk than the rest of us is the tiny, unprotective nature of their vehicles, which was the whole point of my initial post.

  • You may think you see the same thing, but without riding you can't really make that call. Without riding, you also don't understand the mechanisms of a motorcycle which can affect how quickly we can react to situations. Most bikes aren't automatics. I've made my comments and I stick by them. We have the same kinds of attitudes in Congress. People who have never ridden, that want to make rules and regulations for motorcycles.

  • Question for you, I'm unaware of any automatic motorcycles. Before I go buy one, can you tell me what bikes are available that are automatics? Thanks man.

  • Very few, but actually it seems companies are now investing more in the idea. There are older automatics like Hondamatics, and now there is an sporty little Aprilia out and Honda has their god-awful ugly and overpriced DN-01. Yamaha will be coming out with another god-awful ugly and overpriced travesty next year.

You know what, just learn to shift a motorcycle.

  • i agree. a bloke pulled out on me once, just pulled out. i managed to slow down alot before we hit, but i hit him. no real damage to me, bike a bit dented. helmet ruined and his car had a few dents. not from the motorcycle, but from my helmet when i took it off and beat the living sh*t out of his car for a few mins, till i calmed down

  • I have noticed that very thing. Since my recent accident (and even before) I've been completely paranoid about any car who happens to be at an intersection or is even following behind me.

Instead of listening to music or something in a car now I'm constantly planning ahead about what might happen and how to avoid it, distrusting EVERYBODY.

Drivers in SUV's and such are in their own little world, and its because of this my last motorcycle got totaled with me still on it. Damn yukon drivers.

  • This is what we call a hasty generalization of all motorcyclists. Don't judge the motorcycle population based off of the actions of the few squids who buy litre bikes so they can do wheelies and swerve through traffic.

I can't vouch for everyone but when I ride I'm fully geared, giving cars plenty of distance, planning ahead, and using moderation when accelerating/stopping.

I accept the risks and I've actually had to pay up. But you can't blame us for trying to spread the word of safety.

  • This whole commercial is one big hasty generalization. The fact of the matter is that *people*, regardless of what they drive, are inherently irresponsible and accidents will continue to happen. I'm just tired of bikers getting up on their high horse about how unsafe drivers are when they themselves aren't really any more safe, they're just less protected. I'm all for more safety on the roads, but let's be a little more careful about the finger wagging.

  • But I don't recall ever having a car pull out in front of me or nearly hit me when I drove a car. Since getting my scooter, I've had 4 serious close calls at intersections in the past 3 or 4 months. And my scooter is bright yellow. And it's just a 50cc, so I'm not speeding. All the accidents were avoided because I anticipated the car not seeing me, but it still gets my heart racing. Cars truly don't see us bikers.

  • (That was for dland2000, btw)

  • And only one of those drivers who nearly hit me was on a cellphone. 2 were in an SUV. So, don't generalize the cars as "bad drivers." They seemed like normal people to me, they were just zoning out and looking through me for other cars. It's like the driver looks right at you, but it doesn't register. I just cover my brakes and horn at every intersection, and leave rubber tracks when I have to. Thankfully a little 50cc can stop on a dime...

  • Fantastic to see this remade for America, lets hope it makes a difference. American's aren't really used to this kind of in-your-face advertising when it comes to road safety, so it'll be interesting to see how it's received.

  • Jeez people, this happens for real everyday and way too often!! The point is to look thoroughly and be aware when you drive!! No more "I didn't see him" b.s. excuses. Cars do not own the road, and it is not the biker's duty to stop for you, or to swerve around in order to avoid you! If you pull out directly in front of a moving vehicle, no matter what it is, it can be your fault for not looking! A wreck like can also ruin your life with lawsuits, settlements, doctor bills, or worse, a funeral.

  • Saw this on TV this morning and immediately knew I should post it as a bulletin on Myspace. Do the same and ask your "friends" to do the same (threaten to drop them as a friend if they don't :-). It could save a life indeed.

  • whats crazy is the realistic screeching noise of the cycle sliding, and they even put a black mark in the road...wonder if theres a stunt driver with a head ache?

  • its a very serious commercial, but i cant help but laugh.

  • can we get this aired as often as those shitty debt consolidation ads, and really pound it into the heads of drivers?

  • Saw this on TV about an hour ago..cheered afterward that they are FINALY SHOWING THIS.

  • glad to see this here
