baserocks very very good gen..very helpful..gen is my favourite character and i practice a lot everyday...i think his the most complex character and hardest...but if will learning the tricks and strategy of gen i think his is the best character...very nice and amazing combos..ur my man:):)
Thanks for the video. Gen's such an underrated character. He seriously needs more exposure, both in the games and in the anime (he's been there since the beginning, and he has NEVER been in a SF anime!).
@ZerogpN00b time it and practice...its different for all the kicks...thats why most people dont ply with gen(ive been told)...cuz they cant time the kicks...just practice bruh
@baserocks1 Not just the kicks, but because he's probably the hardest to learn in the entire game, and until they give him some serious buffs, he's not really that competitive. Seriously, Capcom needs to give our man Gen some more consideration.
now that you metioned it, yes i'm sure we met online. i play alot with viper. the last three days i spend online with makoto.. i get my ass kicked ^^ i love hard to handle characters. but gen is just too different from sf..
@KanameTousen most people dont realize, crane stance will when you the match...this is just a vid to show people what you "could" do with gen...damage scalling sucks for any gen combo just about
@KanameTousen i stay in crane most of the time to...I use crouching mp hands as my primary poke tho....But crane cr rh is his best anti air IMO, plus the jyasen, oga(just for mind games), and the overhead or standing hp mix up...thnx 4 commenting tho
Oga is extremely unsafe, mid-screen fadc ultra depends on a difficult link and is character specific and requires a stance change, no fadc for safe gekiro, ex gekiro needed for reliable aa but our large damage combos are from supers, slow crane normals, small active frames on c.hk crane... our main normal aa. U2s are garbage except in like 2 matchups, low health and low stun, high risk-high execution-low reward, hopeless matchups, no U1 mantis startup invincibility. I'm a Gen main.
@lordkurenai Read the Description bro...its just to show people what gen CAN do. Not nescearilly the rule book for him...I play like this sometime, but with gen it all depends on how your oponent plays. Thanks for the comment tho.
Good stuff! You can use the crane super after a non-complete gekiro, btw. dunno if you planned to show this later, didnt know about it or what, but I will use it if it gives me the edge or will KO.
@cnel90 It's also scaled really bad, easier to just save for a hands confirm where it doesn't scale so bad plus sets up more juggle into another gekiro or ultra.
Great vid. I dropped Gen when super came out, for me they just too everything fun out of him.
Anyway I was wondering, in super you can cancel the latter hits of hand to super so why are you canceling the first? You just lose damage and the latter hits are easier too.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong but can't you also do FADC combos out of the latter hits of hands? I'm not sure if it's a specific hit but on my day1 I remember trying stuff out and IIRC I got a s.mp to hit after FADCing later hits?
@CombolammasFIN What I have noticed is that if you allow later hits, then fadc(especially if your using Hp, mp, or geikro afterward) Damage scaling does almost nothing to the moves and normals you want to hurt the most...BTW dont let this video get you to thinking im some gen pro. Im not, I just made this video to show people gen is viable(at times *sigh*)...But i'll be sure to test out your theory tho. thnx 4 the comment
@baserocks1 Damage scaling in this game is based on number of attacks, not on number of hits. A single-hit hands special has the same effect in scaling as a multi-hit one. (That is, unless you keep mashing P, but the first four hits are a single attack)
@baserocks1 Hm? SF4 scales by number of moves, not number of hits. 1 hit hands and 5 hit hands cause similar scaling since they both just count for 1 move.
I was just wondering if there was a reason for doing it the way you did. It's a very nice vid, don't get me wrong there.
this video makes me so sad.. in vanilla i only played gen.. i bought a stick because of him and i got addicted to SF because of him. but seeing the ssf4 gen with that floaty jump arch and without mk hands just makes me sad. i'm keeping gen alive by throwing in my vanilla disc once in a while and totally ignore him in ssf. i pray that one day sf4 gen comes to ssf!
but great combos! i liked the ones with his roll..
@microboy90 i plan to on the upcomming series...inputs always throw me of for some reason when im in the corner. Plus If you guys saw my inputs without an explanation, I dont think it would help anyone. I have weird ass inputs lol
@shindra86 my friend hoigek told me he recieved a target combo( he was there at TGS)...its mp, Hp, Mk....I was wish for invincibility on ex oga like vannila but o well..thanks for the kind words bruh
@tonefresh yeb, is far more amazing at zoning, mind, and consistency than I will ever be...i Appreciate the comment tho! Thnx subscribe if you get the chance!
Thank you so much for the vid man. I'm a Gen player (He's probably my number one main actually) so I appreciate any sort of reference I can get. Faved. And I am definitely going to check out that hands tutorial vid too.
@thenewmc2 no prob...I just really want to keep gen alive. Spread this to people, so they can see what gen Can do. Hands tutorial might be up tommorow, if not, it will be after scr(next week, sorry!) But there more parts to this, I just dont really know how to edit it and i dont want to miss anything thatcould help someone out. please subscribe. thnx

He was top tier in SF4?

Just a tip wait until 4th hit during XX Hands. You get more stun and Dmg.
