Thanks for the video. Gen's such an underrated character. He seriously needs more exposure, both in the games and in the anime (he's been there since the beginning, and he has NEVER been in a SF anime!).

@baserocks1 Not just the kicks, but because he's probably the hardest to learn in the entire game, and until they give him some serious buffs, he's not really that competitive. Seriously, Capcom needs to give our man Gen some more consideration.

now that you metioned it, yes i'm sure we met online. i play alot with viper. the last three days i spend online with makoto.. i get my ass kicked ^^ i love hard to handle characters. but gen is just too different from sf..

Oga is extremely unsafe, mid-screen fadc ultra depends on a difficult link and is character specific and requires a stance change, no fadc for safe gekiro, ex gekiro needed for reliable aa but our large damage combos are from supers, slow crane normals, small active frames on c.hk crane... our main normal aa. U2s are garbage except in like 2 matchups, low health and low stun, high risk-high execution-low reward, hopeless matchups, no U1 mantis startup invincibility. I'm a Gen main.

@lordkurenai Read the Description bro...its just to show people what gen CAN do. Not nescearilly the rule book for him...I play like this sometime, but with gen it all depends on how your oponent plays. Thanks for the comment tho.

Good stuff! You can use the crane super after a non-complete gekiro, btw. dunno if you planned to show this later, didnt know about it or what, but I will use it if it gives me the edge or will KO.

Great vid. I dropped Gen when super came out, for me they just too everything fun out of him.

Anyway I was wondering, in super you can cancel the latter hits of hand to super so why are you canceling the first? You just lose damage and the latter hits are easier too.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong but can't you also do FADC combos out of the latter hits of hands? I'm not sure if it's a specific hit but on my day1 I remember trying stuff out and IIRC I got a s.mp to hit after FADCing later hits?

@CombolammasFIN What I have noticed is that if you allow later hits, then fadc(especially if your using Hp, mp, or geikro afterward) Damage scaling does almost nothing to the moves and normals you want to hurt the most...BTW dont let this video get you to thinking im some gen pro. Im not, I just made this video to show people gen is viable(at times *sigh*)...But i'll be sure to test out your theory tho. thnx 4 the comment

@baserocks1 Damage scaling in this game is based on number of attacks, not on number of hits. A single-hit hands special has the same effect in scaling as a multi-hit one. (That is, unless you keep mashing P, but the first four hits are a single attack)

@baserocks1 Hm? SF4 scales by number of moves, not number of hits. 1 hit hands and 5 hit hands cause similar scaling since they both just count for 1 move.

this video makes me so sad.. in vanilla i only played gen.. i bought a stick because of him and i got addicted to SF because of him. but seeing the ssf4 gen with that floaty jump arch and without mk hands just makes me sad. i'm keeping gen alive by throwing in my vanilla disc once in a while and totally ignore him in ssf. i pray that one day sf4 gen comes to ssf!
