  • So u removed the only part i needed

  • This tut sucks

  • That RAM is the exact same RAM I had in my Dell laptop. Of course dell was cheap and the RAM was only around 512 MB.

  • you got balls doing that!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice lighting

  • My dad is doing this for me tomorrow. ORdered 1 GB of RAM..yay!

  • I have to warn all viewers - never (and I mean NEVER) use a magnetic screw driver anywhere near a computer, regardless if it is a Mac, or PC.

  • NOOOOO shit

  • Aaahahahaa awesome.

I like the fact it's a 9-month old comment and you're still talking. There's a magnetic screw driver in the video, so it's probably a good thing to try and clarify to the extent that I can. Ok?

  • ur retarded. you cant use a nyodium magnet. weak ones are ok.

  • I think any comment that starts with 'ur retarded' is destined to fail, and pretty ironic at that.

    Oh and "lmao, go out."

  • ive got no computer etiquitte. here, let me change it

  • you cant use a nyodium magnet. weak ones are ok. AND THEN UR RETARDED(i dont know who i referred to)

  • Mac Minis are really cool, I heard a rumor that a Macintosh computer will last you a long time.

  • Yeah they will. They don't have many viruses.

  • That's no rumor.

  • does it mean there is no need to install anti virus software on macs (mini or otherwise)?

I am seriously considering ditching PC

  • Not even close to being a rumor, it's a fact

  • I have a 1994 Powerbook 150...still works.

    I have a 1999 iMac...still works.

  • Thats nuttin. I had a Performa, original keyboard, mouse and display that still ran OS 9 really well until we recycled it... But we still have a clamshell that works and looks cool

  • You didn't need to get smart with the guy! He was just stating his opinion

  • i may get a mini or power g4 off of ebay and it will be my first mac

  • dont you have to buy apple ram so it dosnt crash?

  • It's fussy about the RAM, but it doesn't have to be from Apple. Various brands of PC RAM will work fine so long as it's the same spec. This varies with different models of Mac Mini.

  • thanks! i think this is what i'm going to do. I think you can pick up 4gb of ram for like £90 online!

I recognise the song playing in the background, is it Norah Jones ~ The Long Day Is Over?

  • dont you have to buy apple ram so it dosnt crash?

  • I'm not 100% sure, I've been trying to research it as much as possible before I buy either the mini or a macbook. The cheapest I can find now is £112 for 4gb from macupgrades dot co dot uk. However according to that site it only takes upto 2gb. Whether its 3rd party i'm not sure.

  • This tutorial just saved me £70GBP! Gonna attempt to change my own damn RAM! Apple charge more than that to upgrade RAM! Loadsa good new upgraded RAM on ebay.. Im gonna give mine 1GB which should make it wiz through applications!

    10/10 Methodshop for posting this!

  • I just did this to my new mac mini. It is very nerve-racking cracking open the case. You have to be very careful not to mark the case. The hardest part for me was taking out the four screws. I used a blob of Pritt Stick to keep the screws attached to the screwdriver. It was fiddly as hell and one of the screws never went back in! Still, i got it done in the end. Phew!

  • can u guys answer this question..???can i put in a 512 mb ram and a slot of 256 mb ram ????in my dell dimension 2400?

  • yes

  • look up the specs for your model because you have a maximum capacity. if you go beyond the capacity the ram simply won't work.

  • The RAM for a Mac is pretty affordable. 2gigs for $80 DDR2 667 @ newegg. It works on any Mac model other than the Mac pro.

  • you're damn right. i'll be damned if i'm gonna pay Apple amost $800 bucks just for 2gigs.

  • does normal ram work? a 2* 2gb kingston?

  • Yes. You have to use PC2-5300 (667 MHz) DDR2 SDRAM made for laptops. This works in the current iMacs, Macbooks, Mac minis, and Macbook Pros.

  • n00b. It has metal clips on the side of the RAM holding it in. Place a small screwdriver or pen against it and push out, then do the same to the other. The RAM will easily lift out.

  • yeah you can take any old computers ram and upgrade a new one

  • Thanks for posting this. I heard that opening the case can be kind of tricky.

  • So what, the idiot knows how to remove Ram!

  • i know lol

  • omg teh magikal ram is amazing!!! next thing you say is we can buy a laptop and upgrade components!!

  • Decent tut apart from random people talking in the background.

  • Does that really even matter?
