  • Who would have thought it possible. In the early '70's Elton John was???...a bad ass!

  • guau

  • T Rex w/ Elton & Ringo would have been a supergroup! Too bad they didn't stick around together for more!

  • nice

  • This clip is from the Ringo Starr produced "Born to Boogie"movie from '72. I bought the remastered 2-disc set when it came out a few years ago. If you like Marc, this should give you all the great video you need ( for a while)! Of course, the remastered sound eats this clip. Did I forget to say that this movie is f*#*king great!

  • Good days.

  • Wow.

  • Is this from "Born to Boogie" ???

  • Could anyone give me credible information Dates and Venue of the last shows Mark did in the City of Detroit much of the 70s was a blurr to some of the people who lived in them.I saw his show only thing I remember was how great he was I couldn't tell you where I was though. :) Can someone help an old stoner out?

  • @japzbene1562 I wish I could. I live in Dearborn and grew up in Detroit, but my concert-going era began in the early '80s. You are so lucky to have seen T. Rex!

  • Marc became a friend with Ringo Starr (the Beatles drummer),

who made a film about him called "Born to Boogie".

A kind of a psychedelic rock movie...

T.Rex theme on my channel this week :)

  • Scorpions _ Children of the Revolution sounds so much better!! xD

    /watch?v=kKUp0rywSmc

  • @MarkTheHarper It's Mickey Finn.

  • 1:30 mr bean on the drums

  • @bostonred11 Rowan Atkinson's lost tapes ... lol...nice..............sorry ringo

  • thumbs up if youre listening this on 1974

  • I played this day before riots LOL!

  • pure rock

  • R.I.P. Marc Bolan today you are 34 years gone! I remember you!

  • Elton John plays with real passion and power on this. Marc Bolan should have worked with him a lot more.

  • "He's not even the best drummer in The Beatles!" - John Lennon

  • Maybe not one, but at least four revolutions French, Paris, Revolution of 1905, and Russian. Luckily, this children are likely to step aside to saints as the children of another and a bit different kind of revolution. Much deeper in change of human nature and aiming to annihilate the whole hell as a one small step in human development - nota bene not a very important one.

  • Marc Bolan is a beautiful man, but he just looks like a corpse here

  • horrible audio - but great sound! THE SHIT!!!

  • This is pretty awesome. YouTube is the best thing since sliced bread.

  • oy porfavooooooooor!!

  • Rowan Atkinson on drums 1:30

  • WFT What does Marc Bolan in a piano? Hahahaha I love it

  • Ringo Starr, playing with these guys... Reminds me of Dave Grohl's versatility of today..

Oh, you want awesome?? Just call the professionals.

  • I want some of the drugs they were on

  • the more of Marc i watch, the more i am reminded on Wayne Coyne....he ripes off only the best, i guess...

  • marc bolan da miedo dentro del piano :s

  • marc bolan was a superb artist .. end of

  • I love the fact that ringo and elton arnt in center stage and marc is. It's just too cool:')

  • Shame about the sound quality, this is a fantastic laid back version.

Interviewer to Lennon: "Is Ringo the best drummer in the world?"

Lennon: "No, he's not even the best drummer in the band."

On this however Ringo seems to be doing a really good job.

  • the guy who plays piano looks like elton john..OMG I hope he wasn't...

  • @GiannisKJ19 lol idiot

  • @GiannisKJ19 lol idiot

  • @GiannisKJ19 yeah and the bloke on the drums looks like ringo starr

  • I just hope there is a heaven with all those people...what a blast!

  • fuck this is fantastic

  • I LOVE THIS !!!!I I GREAT !!! WOW. MARIA O

  • Marc's head in the piano gave me a bit of a start, brilliantly bizarre.

  • Hey George , how is the afterlife,

I heard that Ganesh drives a Reliant Robin ?

Beam me down a text as I have a pub quiz and need to know the truth , or my team may be relegated to the 4th. Div....... thanks sweet Beetle

  • best song eva!

  • brilliant video, those were the days!!

  • At 3:41 I thope that is not dandruff on Elton John;s shoulder's.

  • Elton John might be a bit lame now, but he could knock fuck out the piano in his day.

  • GO RINGO!

  • СУПЕР !!!

  • You look at the greatest bands in history and they all have someone who died too young.

There must be one hell of a supergroup performing in heaven right now.

  • @JanineRobin you got that right. . let's get a list going: john lennon, john bonham, jimi hendrix, marc bolan, jim morrison, kurt cobain. . .list goes on

  • @JanineRobin - which would explain why westlife are still going.

  • elton john´s piano is great

  • Some Bands you´d better not join: The Who. Allmann Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, T.Rex, Humple Pie. They have a high mortality rate.

  • @gillan5 ..only partially true.. ALL very very successful ones seem to.. including zeppelin;bee gees;dozens upon dozens of others (including MANY solo artists) AND the MOST overlooked and prone to unusual and unatural deaths of all... The Beatles ( Mccartney's AND Lennon's moms)..Stu Sutcliff ;Brian Epstein;friend and road manager Mal Evans;Guitarist Jim McCulough(with Wings);Jonh;George;Linda McCartney;..look into it(i did). You'd be AMAZED how death seems to be a part of ALL "superstars" lives

  • @asurrealenigma No,no,no: you are listen some bands who mainly lost ONE of their members like Zeppelin. I was naming band who lost 50-70% of their crew! - if you read it carefully.

  • @gillan5 well.. ok..lol

  • One of his worse songs - rubbish lyrics and no melody. I wish you Marc Bolan fans would wake up to the fact that after 'Metal Guru' he was just a spent force. He was more about image than music. His friend David Bowie on the other hand, went from strength to strength. I remember Marc Bolan having the cheek to slag off Bowie in interviews. He was an arrogant little elf!

  • @theechameleon yeah, he was a little elf wasn't he?

  • @theechameleon I spend most of my time looking up Bowie songs on youtube and saying Bowie ain't that great.

  • @theechameleon Children of the revolution was one of the best Bolan song. Bowie was not equal to what Bolan - This is the truth. Marc Bolan was the king of glam rock.

Sorry for my English but I' m from Poland. ;-)

  • @GlamZinoPL I'm going to have to disagree with you here as David Bowie INVENTED glam sorry to put a downer on you but it's true maybe Marc Bolan is really fucking good but he can never beat Bowie

  • @JazzTheGoblinQueen

tony visconti invented it marc just made it more easy for other groups to try

  • @GlamZinoPL Yes you are so right in what you say ROCK ON

as for the king of glam yes he was and the god father of punk

just listen to lady stardust "a song for marc"

  • @GlamZinoPL Bolan was a child of the revolution Bowie would be the glam rock father :)

  • @jaramillaso I do not agree with that. Marc Bolan was the father of glam rock, and began with the song "Ride a White Swan. "

  • marc will live on for ever

  • Elton looks so damn cute here...Id bend him over that piano

  • elton makes this track fall into the epic catergory

  • for me marc is alliive just keep a litlle marc in your hart

  • Marc Bolan was a brilliant and charismatic musician.

Pity he died in his prime. Stupid tree.

Great to see Elton and Ringo rockin it.

  • Can't imagine the kind of music he'd be making had he lived. What a guy.

  • only the talented die young Elton John and Ringo will live to there a 100 cunts

  • @ScotsLyon if you don't like elton john why are you watching a video he tore it up in? if you can listen to those chords at 2:30 and not respect, you need to leave my internet, sir.

  • @ScotsLyon elton john rocks. ringo is kinda a cunt

  • This cat had a rather unique style. I had his albums ELECTRIC WARRIOR and SLIDER. I knew that he went on a few more years before he died, but it seemed to me that he dropped right off the airwaves following those whirlwind years...

  • @YusakuJon3 I remember when he and Mickey Finn were emerging. They were almost underground, and Marc Bolan had a book of poems published, which to me,no expert, seemed pretty good. They were pretty intense before popularity.

  • que virgueria!!!!

  • 741,821 flyes can't be wrong, this is a good shit!

  • Also, bongo player looks like Howard "Jazz Central" Moon eh.

  • Fuck this lineup is sick. Also Bolan shreds it hard.

  • magnificent! ♥ thanks ☼

  • 41 ppl aint children of the revolution

  • @JohnyStroyer That ain't BP on bongo's its Mickey

  • WAY TOO COOL !!!!

  • im sad Marc Bolan is dead his voice was epic even in piano style

  • Ah, imagine the crazy party these guys had ;-)

  • ahi tan mis tios!!!

  • rock the fuck on.

  • @flexnscrew Couldn't have said it better brother :-)

  • WOW WOW !!!!! just it! epic.

  • i like this

  • awesome!...crazy,awesome.

  • I can't believe graffic guy said unremarkable and dull.

This was a "time" when Elton John was not a name, Ringo wouldn't/shoudn't be caught dead engaging in such a gig and Marc was recording an epic song.

Yet giraffe guy says "dull". Oh my, what a retard, no?

I really wonder what Elton and Ringo would have to say about his recording.

  • Elton John, piano. Ringo Starr, drums. Marc Bolan, guitar. Micky Finn, percussion. Steve Currie, bass. Bill Legend, drums. Clip from the movie, "Born to Boogie" directed by Ringo Starr in 1972.

  • Sounds like an unremarkable jam. Quite dull.

  • @GrafficGuy

Quite dull - it might be so - depending how you hear it! Maybe you are the dull one!

  • This is truly awesome, but there's some problems with the sound that make it an epic fail. Could someone re-post this proper? No disrespect intended.

  • Marc is a citizen from New Jeruzalem, the Main Man of Music and Power

  • i like all marcs song bc his voice is awesome

  • just in case some of the dudes on here didnt know .this is marc bolan not paul fuckin mcartny or george harrison(this was just marc elton and ringo)just listen to the music and enjoy it for what it is please x

  • Great tune,Marc , Ringo, LEGENDS.......Oh yea, the piano player too! Loved T-REX,still do! R.I.P. Marc ........miss ya Brother. Thanks for post..............

  • jew

  • OMG this is a public service. Thank you.

  • "Ringo" fans.... I hope U will check out the video for my song " RINGO ". It's a very retro video with Beatleish touches. It was done as a labor of love and with the utmost respect for the Fabs. The song and video is my attempt at putting a little bit of the Beatle spirit out there for Beatle fans. It's also my tribute to George Harrison's slide playing as well as Ringo's unique style.

    Peace,

Vinnie Zummo, former Joe Jackson guitarist

  • I have to say.. I love this one more than the original.. this is feeling... this is mean.. this is good.. this is real. The real one is too put on for me.. the singing and the violins are just not my style.. but this is amazing. Smashing. x)

  • Elton John and Marc Bolan..... wow!

  • Fabulous!!

  • Alright Animals!

  • check out ringos hair

  • This video has it all -- zebra, head in the piano, Elton John with malignant dandruff, Ringo in a mullet, the inimitable Micky Finn, and Marc Bolan's voice with the full studio treatment. Decades ahead of its time.

  • coooooooool

  • Cool video, and I love seeing EJ and Ringo... but really, the song is mediocre...

  • Bolan, cudowny głos, jeden z lepszych

  • Fucking love this song to death, fave scene from the movie! Dont get why it flopped at the time. Even though he couldnt act, it was quite fun! :)

  • Luv both Elton & Marc Bolan! Too bad Marc didn't get to live longer, may he rest in peace!

  • When Elton John was full into rock n' roll... :)

  • Marc Bolan fucking rock's man. I want that jacket he's wearing. Back when musicians had some feckin' clout!

  • Born To Boogie,, very strange film but great soundtrack,,,, Some people Like to rock, some people like to roll,,, but movin an a groovin just satisfies my soul :-)
