I was also an autistic, a boy with special treatment. When I was child, I spoke nothing for almost 8years, having difficulty to interact with others, having behavior problems to do self-injury & horrible things. I went to special school then I continued general junior high school just like normal people. . I had no friends and everybody called me freak. It made me realize that I was different, and it made me suffer so bad.
That's why I made some great efforts of myself to find what was good in me . I continued to senior high school (10th to 12 grades) , I took language class. I enjoyed study language. Now I can stand up by my own feet without depending on help from others, I have a job, a beautiful girl friend, many friends, have my own life!
I realized that I'm an extraordinary person with my autism because God give people like me extraordinary skill capability, and all I had to do was to find what it is. From this point I wanted to share with the people in my country and to encourage people with autism and their family.
Wow. Great video, very insightful! I have not had this diagnosis myself. As a child, I read an autism book "Dibs in search of self" and became very intrigued by autism (because I could relate to it). I relate to your experiences and my friend's son's 'autistic' behaviours, too. I believe had I been assessed back then, I might have been given an autism diagnosis. Yet I've done okay in adulthood. Parents should be encouraged. You're giving them lots of hope. Thank you for making these videos!
I never have met you, but am so proud of you. Thank you for posting this, and your advice is true to word. I have a 8 year old who is high functioning and he is very verbal, but he is still very anti social and will only talk about a handful of things with other kids. I just wanted to ask, did you like milk when you were younger? My son loves milk and he is underweight, so am scared to alter his diet because I have been told by his doctors not to. Please respond more videos if you can, please!
@orangeloulou I have been underweight all my life. And, yes I did enjoy milk as a child. As far as removing milk from his diet, that is a personal choice. Have you also consulted a dietician (is that how it is spelled). I would be sure to consult at least one other doctor before making your decision, and also tell them why you want to remove milk from his diet.
@armankhodaei at what age did the aggressiveness went away because my brother is 10 years old and he throws items and he hits and scratches people. thank you for your videos they are very helpful.
@messi0588 The aggressiveness started to go away when I was young when milk was taking out of my diet, but I didn't truly stop being aggressive until I was almost an adult around the age of 18.
Arman, you are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! my 5yr.old needs your help.could you tutor him on-line?because he is living overseas.we love you&are truely blessed that we found you.if you cannot tutor him,it's ok.we are learning alot by your videos.please continue to share with us.you give us sooooooooooooooooooo much hope for our son.God bless you!for all you do.where can we get your book?(a boy in wonderland)thank you for your time.sincerely, Om Mohammed
This video was helpful. What kind of intervention did your mum do with you? And it would also be good to know how far you have come. We can see what a wonderful man you are now but for those of us who have young children as I do it would be helpful to know more about what you were like when you were younger. For instance were you verbal?
I discuss where I came from in my video "conquering autism" I discuss my childhood up until now. It is a very good and informative video and I highly recommend that you watch it. Also, yes, I was a tad bit verbal. As far as intervention my mom did, well, let's just say when it came to dealing with the school system she wouldn't take no for an answer.
Thank you, Arman, for sharing your experience.
