  • What was the passenger train that passed to the right of UP (bare table?) that was on the center track?

  • Shows how much train traffic has decreased in this area since then:(

  • You were so lucky to have gotten to see a "Tunnel Motor"! Was it an SD45T-2 or SD40T-2?

  • great job!

  • someday can you take more pictures at Franklin st.

  • Nice view of the train on that last clip!

  • yeah in daylight, I don't think I would railfan in night light. Remember railroads always go through the worst parts of town in any big city.

  • Nice place to railfan! Gets mostly amtrak and a little freight.

  • Hell yeah...A very good video...

  • an SD40T-2 w/wings!! sweet!

  • an SD40T-2 w/wings!! sweet!

  • i wish a train would go through my street

  • haha me too...

  • That is so cool!!! I wish we had that in Canada!

  • How bad do those trains plug up that area??? And how many trains a day run thru there???

  • I was there for 3 hrs and saw almost a dozen.

  • Nice car crossing the intersection at 1:08. How heavy is the train traffic there?

  • Not gonna lie, on a normal weekday it's pretty busy. Since up ahead the tracks (northbound) there's a huge freight and ship yard. Oakland is one of the few western ports for ship to train travel. On a weekend it's not too bad. But you have commuter, passenger, and freight traffic from several points of the Bay Area.

  • Great vid. Is there still a movie theatre next to these tracks?

  • do trains still run through there? And if so, where exactly is this place?

  • Oakland, California, and there are plenty of trains daily. If you are still confused, just google "Jack London Square." It is really boring during the day though, up at JLS, unless you don't mind waiting for the trains.

  • great vid man, probably the best street running video on youtube. strange how in the 2nd and last train there is a crossing gate that extends over one of the tracks, is that track out of service?

  • WOW.. People Just Walk Right In Front Of Those Trains Don't They! Do They Have sort of horn rule Cause There Just Tooting 1 toot at a Time!

  • not sure, maybe 7-10 or more long blocks.

  • Nice :) i like train in the street, funny if the enginer

    go buy some bread !!

  • it's a real mess up in oaktown, but plenty of action.

  • How often do trains come thru there? Also what type of camera do you have? Also thanks fo rposting a interesting video like this, not many train videos on here, are as interesting as this one!

  • I love SD40T-2's horn and I like when trains though city very interested to watch it

  • Well, actually, the tracks the inbetween two roads, seperated by double yellow lines. The only instances where people cross is from street to street, or pedestrians.

  • Jack London Square is in Oakland, CA, USA. Hope that helps. Thanks.

  • oh thx man.

  • where is Jack London(state, country city etc)? oh, cool collection.
