Not gonna lie, on a normal weekday it's pretty busy. Since up ahead the tracks (northbound) there's a huge freight and ship yard. Oakland is one of the few western ports for ship to train travel. On a weekend it's not too bad. But you have commuter, passenger, and freight traffic from several points of the Bay Area.
Oakland, California, and there are plenty of trains daily. If you are still confused, just google "Jack London Square." It is really boring during the day though, up at JLS, unless you don't mind waiting for the trains.
great vid man, probably the best street running video on youtube. strange how in the 2nd and last train there is a crossing gate that extends over one of the tracks, is that track out of service?
How often do trains come thru there? Also what type of camera do you have? Also thanks fo rposting a interesting video like this, not many train videos on here, are as interesting as this one!
Well, actually, the tracks the inbetween two roads, seperated by double yellow lines. The only instances where people cross is from street to street, or pedestrians.
What was the passenger train that passed to the right of UP (bare table?) that was on the center track?

You were so lucky to have gotten to see a "Tunnel Motor"! Was it an SD45T-2 or SD40T-2?

yeah in daylight, I don't think I would railfan in night light. Remember railroads always go through the worst parts of town in any big city.

Nice place to railfan! Gets mostly amtrak and a little freight.
