Eu admiro vc e sua disponibilidade em demonstrar à outras pessoas como aprender a fazer tudo de maneira menos complicada, quando possível claro! Parabéns!
You should check out the new marvel wheelchair (google it to find the link)
Jeff and Christian are guys that do awesome stuff with their chairs and now they've developed a chair that is adjustable and strong, borrowing techniques used to build racing bikes
ive tried that marvel chair, its alright but it takes ALOT of ajustment to try it out for each person. Someone with bigger feet needs the larger casters on it and I also find its tippy. To buy one and get all the ajustments made its a good chair I guess but it also has a good size price tag too it
I don't have any strength in my hips but i do have okay strength in my hands. Does getting in and out of car need any hip strength? Could you give me some more information on car transfer boards? Also did you make any modifications to your car? (like height adjustments to fit your wheelchair height)
No, you don't need any hip strength at all to do that transfer. I'm a T7 complete so I don't have any strength below the sternum. You could certainly use a transfer board, I used one initially. There is no height modifications to the car.
The chair is a quickie titanium. The wheels on the video were spinergy with natural fit handrails and foam tires. My newer set-up is sun component Fusion 16 wheels with schwalbe marathon tires and regular handrails for a much lighter overall wheel.
Thank you for sharing your technique. I have a transfer product designed to help caregivers. Your video helped me to understand what you go through day to day.
Yeah the chair is pretty light. It's a Quickie titanium. The wheels were pretty heavy though because I had foam tires on them and big handrims. I just got some sun fusion 16 rims and mounted pneumatic tires on them and they are super light. It makes a huge difference when pushing. You'll see them in the next vids... Yeah, I understand the price tag is rather prohibitive. I heard numbers around $8000.

Good video. I'm T5-6 complete and still use a board for the transfer, so I found your technique really useful. Thanks.
JoJo72X 2 years ago
I used to use a transfer board as well initially but it was too cumbersome to keep that board with me all the time so eventually it got dropped.
fasteddy07 2 years ago
I just leave board in the car but it is a problem if I want to use taxis etc...

Hey fasteddy, you are a really great guy! Hope you're still doing so well.
PS You have the most magnificent smile.

Nice man, your chair looks lighter than mine though. I've got a Quickie GPV.
