it's amazing how iodine goes from orange to filthy brown to deep amethyst purple. i spilled some saturation iodine solution on my hand once, it took about three weeks to stop looking like I'd put my mit in the toaster. that's water being added there right? and the iodine is evolving off. making it, technically, the decomposition of AlI3.

read it. Iodine and aluminum. You can get directions all over the Internet. Material is easy and cheap to find.
