  • I'm in the great part of Youtube again :PP

  • troll physics says make shoes out of this and you can walk on water.

    You mad?

  • But does it blend?

  • I can use it... TO BUILD A BEACH! Muahahaha!!

  • it totally rejected it

  • i want one

  • Something called aqua sand.!! Duhhhh stupid people-_-

  • Can it repel siemen?

  • Damn close up and slow motion... this guy means buisiness!

  • Hell Sand - "No Sand Castles Allowed."

  • -Hey water

    -What?

    -Fuck You!

  • what if you eat it?

  • @santiagoelcapo It probably won't digest properly and you'll shit red sand.

  • its just oil on the sand

  • @ilikeorbeeze lol, its magic sand. a toy which is basically a load of sand coated with a hydrophobic layer. this means it can be sculpted when submersed. look it up.

  • OMG PHYSICS!!!

  • a great tool to use for waterproofing, shed, house, coats, you name it if it gets wet it want now!!

  • i cant walk to the water with this?

  • i wanna put this in my fishtank lol XD

  • make it look like real sand then people will belive you

  • @HOWZZ3

    bro its real.

  • what is this sorcery.

  • Moon sand

  • what if this sand was put in an area of water where the pressure was extreme?

  • If God accidentally used magic sand for beaches, I think we would be in trouble.

  • Hey look, they found a way to pull in redstone from minecraft.

  • so when you come to a video and the two top comments are the same, you get really akward? seriously, would be so funny to see you in a social situation...

  • haha stupid water, it thought everything needed it well haha u've just been rejected!!

  • ptfe beads?

  • Excellent!!

  • It is some kind of oxide?

  • Sand: DO NOT WANT

  • I understand that the sand is hydrophobic, but I am curious if has more to do with matric potential. I think it is obvious that H-bonding is why this happens, but the sand looks fine enough that the water should have some attraction to it.

I wish I knew more about these things, but I think the reason for this is actually because of H-bonds--the H2O molecules have a stronger attraction for each other than they do the sand.

Similarly hydrophobic soils happen after intense forest fires.

  • RAINING?! PUT THAT ON YOUR HAIR! TOTALLY EFFICIENT!

  • cant you make this stuff with regular beach sand and water repellant boot spray you can get at that dollar store?

  • thumbs up if you think that someone should put water inside a magic sand ball/mound thingy, and then try to get it out with their fingers :P

  • They need to put this stuff at beaches. No more floods!

  • so this is what happened after the BP oil spill. hmmm.

  • how much you buy it ??

  • in soviet russia, sand bounce off you

  • Its not moon sand or anything else the sand was sprayed down with scotch gaurd

  • Moon sand I love that stuff

  • Is it nano-coated?

  • Magic Sand dust, don't breath this!

  • i wish i had a dog that had a shirt made out of that stuff

  • You do know that this kinda sand is like... Not healthy? The sands particles is smaller that water.

When you sweat the H2O is leaving your body trough your skin - because it can. Now if this sand has smaller particles than the water that can pass through too.

Guess what - that is what it do! D: You might see thouse "NanoCover" thingys that you can treat your furniture in, so that water and soda will reject off - its the same thing. Exept that this is just in sandform :-/

  • Omg i think its halarious how people actually get into arguments on FUCKING YOUTUBE VIDEOS!!! i mean seriously, why eould you come back to te video JUST to see if someone said something back to your comment??? pointless...

  • @UNB3AT4BL3xB4MF its called trolling...

  • REJECTED

  • If you had this 2500 years ago you could of had your own religion

  • @Scottypowpow all you need back then is comon sense... they didnt have that... if you want to be a god... just bring back a pistol...

  • @Scottypowpow LOL PROBOBLY TRUE :P

  • @Scottypowpow If he had this 2500 years ago he people would have burned or hung him.....Because of thinkin he was a witch or a demon :)

  • @Scottypowpow Nope he would get his head decapitated for witchery...... :C

  • @Scottypowpow you could have all women in the tribe with this thing

  • @Scottypowpow If they had it 500 years ago they could have had there own religion.

  • hydrophobic sand ?

  • @talabastardo ya :)

  • Moon sand

  • its simply moon sand or magic sand covered in a hydrophobic material

  • magic sand is just small beads of teflon

  • #1. lol at all the arguing

    #2. REJECTION!

  • SHOW THE SPOON GOING THROUGH THE SAND IN SLOW MOTION!!!!!! OMG THAT WOULD BE AWESOME

  • Wet stuff...why you no work?!?!

  • Water... u dissapoint me. -.-

  • i can make a sphere of water skate accross water

  • well it think clothes should be made of that!! not to get wet :P

  • If you had this stuff about 2500 years ago, you could have had your own religeon....

  • @switchblade11089 Haha u fail, why steal a comment from another video just to get thumbs up?

  • @fergiefart2 Actually, the owner of the comment gets recognition, since you said that I didn't come up with it, so you fail, and your name does also.

  • @switchblade11089 Theres another sand video with the same comment posted before you... you obviously posted it. And I don't even care anymore lol

  • @fergiefart2 How do you think I got tha comment you dip? If you don't care, please, stop replying, you're only amusing the people reading these by being a troll.

  • @switchblade11089 It's ok, once you get off your period you'll realize how pointless this conversation is

  • @fergiefart2 First, I didn't appologize, I would sooner fuck your mom than appologize to you, and we all know that your mother is an aweful bitch and whore, that's why you are the way you are. Second, I'm a man, I don't get periods, don't get excited because you think you were able to spark a conversation with a female, you pathetic loser. Third, and finally, If this conversation is pointless, then quit replying, and go do something useful, like die, so you can rid this world of one more idiot.

  • @switchblade11089 LOL STFU you dumb cuntflap. You'll never be the man your mom is, now get the hell off the internet you gaylord. Go shove a broom up your vag and kill yourself, I think we can all spare getting rid of a few trolls....

  • @fergiefart2 You are an immature child, I no longer wish to argue with a 12 year old boy. Have fun being a sad, lonely, horrible waste of DNA.

  • @switchblade11089 I wouldn't say anything more about you bud. Have a great waste of a life.

  • i need one of those cuz i get bored easily

  • @whamnam smosh?

  • its probably auqa sand

  • tits

  • @thercpoop No.

  • sand volcano

  • Water: "Hey sand, wanna go out?"

    Sand: "Nope.avi"

    [/Rejection]

  • witch craft

  • ACCESS DENIED

  • REJECTED!

  • @MrSquid21 robot chicken lol

  • hydrophobic and not hydropelic

  • lol XD

  • REJECTION

  • it rejects H2O just like women reject people who know how this works.

  • its hydrophobic

  • I especially love the slo-mo part.

  • Now, if someone used a cotton candy machine, and threaded this into actual clothing. There's real waterproof.

  • @krystalakina dude, i think you would be interested in this :watch?v=7is6r6zXFDc

  • I used to have this stuff when i was a child.. where can i buy it now?

  • add a bit of dishsoap to the water if you want it to absorb

  • Congratulations.... You figured out how to make plastic sand... Don't hold your breath for a nobel peace prize...

  • This was a great gift for kids way back in the early 80's.. My sisters and I got this for Christmas and it came w/ Blue, Red and Green.. It was the coolest until we all went out one day and when we returned our dog had scattered the sand all over our living room carpet!!

  • @MrPrisnhoss water-proof carpet!

  • @untio11 cat piss proof carpet

  • its fake. i can tell.

  • @junibeautiful oh yea, cus you have a Physics PhD and know everything about hydrophobia, right? :D

this is real, believe it or not :L

  • yeaa i have that, u can buy it for 5 bucks at Walgreens!! its called.....MOON SAND MOON SAND, THE SAND THAT YOU CAN MOLD!!

  • @saadi9111 actually, its impossible to have a waterproof sandcastle. You need the sand to be moisturized for it flocculate, stick onto itself and become rigid.

  • @saadi9111 only problem is u cant build with it :D

  • I loved playing with this stuff as a kid!

  • I would spend hours trying to burry the water with the sand:P

  • @saadi9111 you cant make sand castles without water

  • @zapface94 That depends on how you define it. You could make a castle out of this stuff underwater and it's technically waterproof. Surface tension and pressure actually hold the sand together, just like wet sand adheres to itself on dry land.

  • @zapface94 Yes, you can. But, it would have to be underwater, like this video:

    6wM692T2BXM&feature=related

  • this is a good representation of what happens after brush/forest fires. the water becomes hydrophobic. causing land and mud slides.

    this is especially in california

  • @thefogg The WATER becomes hydrophobic? Hmm...

  • @LaurenceFletcher yeah i watched a thing when i was in the 8th grade. it didn't really explain down to the molecular level. but in general

  • @saadi9111 But you have to have wet sand to make sand castles.

  • @saadi9111 But without wet sand as a foundation for the rest of the castle to stick to, how will we make sandcastles?!

  • AQUA SAND!

  • than whats the purpose of making this sand? what is it use for?

  • Moonsand?

  • Wow! Slow motion, cool... -.-

  • thats because it no SAND!!!

  • @OmerPT unless it's underwater.

    ...

which actually kinda defeats the purpose XD

  • Auqa sand?

  • wher on earth can i find this

  • @TheLegoLoco where he lives

  • @saadi9111 thats a good idea

  • its hydrophobic

  • We played with that stuff in science class. :D

  • I once left my "squand" in the water for a week and it eventually absorbed water.

  • But will it blend?

  • @shotgunpi that is the question..

  • @shotgunpi lolololol

  • @shotgunpi i spammed you dick hole!!!!!

  • @shotgunpi itis blended allready

  • it would be cool "magic sand clothes"! it would be easy to explore the sea lol

  • Potassium dichromate(VI) -> sand and Ethanol -> "H20"

  • this is what they should use along the coastal states

  • When its spooned out of the water, it looks like jello :D

  • but can you eat it?

  • MAGIC SAND!

  • REJECTED!

  • Isn't that Aqua Sand?

  • trippy

  • The sand is hydrophobic - I used to play with this stuff all the time when I was younger!

  • it's not really sand. and the word isn't hydrophobic -- it;s anhydrous.

  • notice how he never drops the sand in the water its always the water on the sand because the sand creats little bubbles around it as the water drops on it but with most sands like this if you drop the sand directly into the water it will in fact get wet

  • notice when he puts the spoon down to take some water out there is sand stuck to the spoon so if it was "waterproof" as this person says wouldnt that not happen

  • it works both ways but just looks better when water is dropped onto sand

  • then why is there sand stuck to the spoon tell me that if it couldnt get wet then how does it stick

  • sand is stuck to the spoon only when the water drips off but what u said before notice how he never drops the sand in the water thats because u need more water to do that effect

  • sand is on the spoon the whole time and no you dont need more water for that effect to work because it gets the sand wet if there isnt enough time for the sand to form an air bubble around itself it gets wet

  • oh ok LOL forget arguing though this affect is brilliant LOL

  • @UchihaSasuke489 Magic Sand does not get wet. It is hydrophobic which means it cannot get wet. At all. watch?v=-1id-gHQjbs

  • We should cover the world in this magical substance.

  • @xDaylanx we can cover ourselves in this magical sand and go underwater!!

  • I never got the point of aqua sand, as soon as you take it out, all the colors mix

  • i just saw an ad for this on tv it's called aqua sand

  • @Blondesarecute417 or moon sand

  • It is somekind of artificial plastic sand. Of course there´s no red sand with that kind of hue on earth.

  • How about Iron Oxide? like, blood? It's kinda red..

  • Sandcastles be damned!

  • i have it and its real sand which is hydrogenized

  • its shredded plastics coated with a chemical which makes it powder instead of shreddings. Looks amazing though!

  • I did this in science class today... filled a tray of water from the tap and poured the sand into it. Lol unless the tap pours out oil, it works.

It's red because it's dyed, it works anyways though.

  • its a product called "Mars Sand" available at some toy stores

  • actually it is real water. the way they do it is coat each grain of sand in some water repellent material then bake it on. thus making it 100% waterproof.

  • @nachosjuan

Idiot, its know as hydrophobic sand, its artificial sand.

  • it looks like red aqua moon sand

  • that is not really fake you can try buying it in toysrus they are either called magic sand or aqua sand and they work just the same as this one

  • whoa, thats AWESOME! i should get one of those!where do you get them?

  • the good news is at least you could tell the difference between CAPS and common!

  • oh master of sarcasm, you are so smart.... ugh... i need some of this sand to rub into my nuts when its all sweaty

  • if i come out of the shower and throw this sand on me, will I be totally dry?

  • so is this moon sand

  • I LOVE MAGIC SAND!
