  • The band isn't even playing the right chords. Voice is as bad as most I've heard! Only one woman on YouTube besides Olivis sounds good. You figure it out....

  • Kids Incorporated version is best.. Followed by Stimulators.. This is awful auto tuned shit

  • la primera version esta genial pero no se esta me gusta mas xD no se como soy un adolescente encuentro esta mejor no lo se xD

  • LOVE how you've done this...you have a pretty voice and it really suits this rockin' version!!

  • I do like this version!!

I think her voice suits this song<3

  • I actually like this version better than Stimulators and Olivia Newton Johns. It just has a better feel and I like how it is upbeat.

  • Its not bad at all.

  • Damn! Every time I hear this song I just wanta go to the mall shopping. I'll use my Macy's charge and save an additional 15%.

  • It was cute.. But you have to check out Stimulator's version of this, they got it on the Macy's commercial

  • if you don't like it GO-TO-THE-ORIGINAL. stop trashing ppl for covering a freakin song. without her half of the ppl of today wouldn't even know there was an OLD version. i surely didn't. i was so obsessed with the song on the commercial that i just NOW found out about the old one lol, though i still love this one more. & that doesn't mean i don't kno music, i listen to all types of music from all eras. but yea you should be glad she did a cover IMO 'cause more ppl are checkin out the original :)

  • i love this version don't like the older one, but because it's the original got to give the singer her props for even making it lol :)

  • @Avatarxz This user didn't cover the song.

  • THIS IS HORRIBLE! its so cold and lifeless! Sorry, but OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN OWNS THIS SONG!

  • Flat and vanilla. No spirit or soul.

  • She sounds like she's reading a script.

  • the original is always better. olivia wins. this is a decent cover.

  • This takes auto-tune to new levels.

  • Those eyes are hypnotizing!

  • This is not the MACYS commercial cover of magic. MACY's used the cover by Stimulator and Susan Hyatt.

  • @mbirnholz2 Stimulator butchers this song. This is my fav, better than Olivia even though I think she sings better.

  • Was anybody else brought here by Macy's?

  • @ALPHABARISAX10 No fuckin way, This one is the best version by far!

  • I would probably like the original better if it wasn't so slow.

  • Yeah I'll admit the Macy's commercial made me search for this, too. Was surprised SOMEBODY finally covered this song, which is actually overdue. I can't say it tops Olivia's version...but I like it, & some interesting new twists. Keeping in mind that sometimes cover songs ruin the original, I think one did a very good tribute.

  • I went to search for this. Man i don't have a life..

  • How crazy is it that it took a Macy's commercial to hear or at least pay attention to this song. The commercial actually was a gift because it not only shared the song it shared a new more upbeat tempo.

I like the three versions I've heard so far from the original to the Stimulators. There doesn't have to be a better or worse. If you like it you like it.

I love it now it's actually kind of a motivational song when you listen to the lyrics.

    Thumbs up if you agree!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The song on the Macy's commercial is by the band Stimulator. It's more of a rock and new wave version.

  • Thumbs up if the Macy's commercial brought you here

  • This version seems to have missed or ignored the complex harmonic progression of the original version. Still sounds cool, though. Sure bet, more versions of this song will come along, as this song resonates, stirs emotion and gets stuck in your head.

  • Olivia's version is tired and old. This is fresh and hip. Love the harmony! Too bad they made it into a JCPenny commercial.

  • LOL! It sounds like karaoke night at the local junior high school. She sounds so passionate, like she's thinking about an ice cream soda. Give her some salvia to smoke, maybe itll put a few pubes on her crotch. Her mommy loved this song when she was in grade school too.

  • this SUCKS compared to the original.New artists need to stick with their OWN material and NOT ruin classics.

  • Nicee :)

  • Just because someone copies someones else's song doesn't mean you have to hate it. Maybe they just want to put a different spin on it.

  • i just hate the late 70's sound of Oliva newton john, i love her voice.

  • Fail. Olivia rules.

  • Like both versions. But love Olivia's best.

  • Macy's commercial.

  • I like both this version and Olivia's; I like Meaghan's harmonies in the chorus, especially on "You have to believe we are magic" :).

  • wow i hate when people copy other people songs

  • Thanks for posting this, hadn't heard it before. I'm also a diehard fan of the original, and this one doesn't supplant it. However, this is a nice update to the song, and honestly, Meaghan had big shoes to fill. This song could easily have been a train wreck, and she shows a lot of promise for what she did with it. In other words, both songs can live in my world.

  • only reason why I stumbled across this version was because I heard it in the background of a commercial aired on the radio and it was like WTF!!! The version does quite suck and doesn't captivate you or pull you in like Olivia's version did.

  • This is not the version you heard on the radio. The band on the Macy's commercial Is called Stimulator and they are a real rock band.

  • @StimulatorSusan did not know that. Now that you mention it, both songs sound completely different. However the original by ON-J had more feel and captivation to it.. The original sound at the voice of ON-J appeals more to me however the human ear can be very picky when it comes to sound and music where this song would be perfectly acceptable to generations old and new alike. I'm just a die hard original. Hopefully the cover has helped to boost her career and covers are perfectly acceptable

  • I love Meaghan! :)

  • I'm just an idiot who stumbled across this thread. Because I'm almost 50 years old, understand that Olivia's 1980 version is soaked in my veins. But this Meaghan is quite good. Technically she sounds better, although Oilvia's come-hither breathiness can't be duplicated. John Farrar's candy-sweet production was perfect for Liv, but I love the crunchier guitars here.

  • She has a good voice but Olivia is way better.

  • jajaja que pesima version

  • good job

  • Nice cover but Olivia does do it better, this gal is more wind and recording tricks than true vocal...still a nice cover just not as good as the original.

  • Not even in the same league as the original. The entire production, from the singing to the music, demonstrates what is wrong with music today.

  • Why even compare Olivia to this crap, end of comment.

  • I have always loved this song, nice "new spin" on it.

  • A little fast but I like it. Nothing beats the origional so far though. There's something missing in the fancifalness of this song that's so so captured in the origional. I think it's the pacing and of the tempo.

  • oh HELL NO , olivia will allways be the best at this with out all this auto tuning

  • I HATE THIS!!!!!

  • Is this the version that's played on the Macy's commercials? Olivia did it MUCH better.

  • Olivia owns this song....there is no comparison!

  • i love both versions of the song, Olivia Newton-John most definately did it better though.

  • she´s a good singer, but this is a hard song that requires a incredibly huge vocal rage, which meaghan doesn´t have yet

  • I only have one thing to say: AUTOTUNE

  • I never even knew this was Olivia Newton John's song! I bought this song on Itunes, and i heard it was olivia's when I heard it on Glee by Aural Intensity for about 2 seconds! LOL

  • i no right i love her!!

  • she is awsome. and her eyes are so pretyy in this pic. :D

  • Ok??

  • OLIVIA"S IS THE BEST VERSION THIS IS HORRIBLE! JUST GROSS! it sounds too harsh!

  • OMG, she sounds like she has a sore throat. this is disgusting

  • this is awful. did she even listen to it herself before releasing it?

  • i dont like it

  • she's got this but the original is best

  • Olivia is 100% better! This is all studio enhanced with no depth or feeling.sad but its a good try.

  • ouch

  • She did a good version but Olivia's version is way much better.

  • Olivia is way better. Seriously, debate me on this.

  • Now everybody check out the original.

  • Olivia is more controlled but deeper, meaghan pulls off this song in my opinion better

  • I disagree.

  • Cool :D at least you have your own opinion :D

  • i agree 100%!

  • @pspulse you gotta be kidding me

  • @pspulse This song drains all the soul and passion out of the original. It's awful and robotic.

  • @pspulse I disagree also

  • Good version, thanks for sharing.

  • I saw her live, and one of the songs she sang was this one,and I loved it from the first few seconds on

  • are there any videos?

  • wow her eyes look pretty!

    i like the song too!
