I've played every MMO in the last 7 years and I can honestly say this is the best I've ever played. I'm totally addicted... going to need an intervention to break me of this habit.
@ShisnoZ, I look at it like this... if I wasn't playing this game then something else would have to be found... like bowling for example. Sometime you have to be willing to pay for entertainment. I actually put entertainment expenses in my monthly budget. :)

@AmazinKLIDE, normally I would agree, but after playing this for a week now I have to say this is a wow killer. All my wow guild members are switching over and that has never happened before. Wow is a great game but SWTOR is better. Can't wait to see how it improves over the next few years.

Yea good job they made the trailer look good, but common guys do you really think there is going to be huge epic battles like that? All organized looking with explosions everywhere and lots of awesome deaths? No. Becuse we've seen the gameplay it's slow like many MMOs where each player has 10,000 some HP and it takes a couple minutes ot kill a tough enemy. The graphics look pretty bad, even for an MMORPG. Star wars games are much better as FPS style games not RPGs.
pfft, luck or not they lost a nearly unlosable fight, and that my friend, is a bit sad. not to mention they lost 2. They lost gunfights against furry little animals with spears, the sith may put up a hell of a fight this time, but don't suspect to win just yet.
Ok, people need to consider two things when they look at this game...
1. It has amazing graphics FOR AN MMORPG! You can't expect a game with millions of players on at one time to look like Halo, Call of Duty, or Battlefield...
2. BE PATIENT! It takes time to make a game, and every time they delay it, they're perfecting something and making the entire game better for everyone.
We have a release date now, so stop trolling them. They'll get it out and in stores when it's ready...

Watching and comparing the gameplay for each game it's easy to see that GW2 looks much smoother and more efficient than the gameplay for SWTOR. The ggc in this game are definitely better than WOW. They do have more of a cartoonist style to the, but I've gotten used to that. Sort of looks like the animated series.
@Commandant02 I wouldn't go so far as to say mediocre. But I think that is intended. From a developer's standpoint this is a good thing if you think about it; for various reasons. A lot more people with not-so-good computers will be able to play it. And It will be easier to create new content.
But at least for me, I love the graphics. They may not be guild wars 2 graphics, but history tells us time and time again that graphics play a very small role in the success of an mmo. Cheers.

This game is a giant fraud. I have been in the testing for several weeks and still am. The pvp is horrible and stupid, the crafting is a joke, "space combat" a pointless waste of time and the main game itself is a lame 1 person game forced to accomodate groups. This is what you get when you have corporate "career" people making games rather than those who play them. I really couldn't care less, I'm just trying to warn you. I'm glad I got saved the money by seeing the game, because it is sad.
Sounds like you just don't like MMOs. There's no economic way around having only one character at a time on a MMO. It leads down to so many balancing problems it isn't funny. In fact the corporate heads were dumb enough to think a companion system would actually work.

The ggc in this game are definitely better than WOW. They do have more of a cartoonist style to the, but I've gotten used to that. Sort of looks like the animated series.

@Commandant02 I wouldn't go so far as to say mediocre. But I think that is intended. From a developer's standpoint this is a good thing if you think about it; for various reasons. A lot more people with not-so-good computers will be able to play it. And It will be easier to create new content.
But at least for me, I love the graphics. They may not be guild wars 2 graphics, but history tells us time and time again that graphics play a very small role in the success of an mmo. Cheers.

@Commandant02 Okay, whether you think which style is better is different than the graphics themselves. If you were to test both games on full graphics, the Old Republic would need a better system especially with all the modern shading and filtering.

This game is a giant fraud. I have been in the testing for several weeks and still am. The pvp is horrible and stupid, the crafting is a joke, "space combat" a pointless waste of time and the main game itself is a lame 1 person game forced to accomodate groups. This is what you get when you have corporate "career" people making games rather than those who play them. I really couldn't care less, I'm just trying to warn you. I'm glad I got saved the money by seeing the game, because it is sad.

Sounds like you just don't like MMOs. There's no economic way around having only one character at a time on a MMO. It leads down to so many balancing problems it isn't funny. In fact the corporate heads were dumb enough to think a companion system would actually work.
