  • I was brought here by Vindsval of BAN

  • The issue is not so much "good" or "bad production"; music is not only melodies & rythms, but sound itself. Give me a good old school Oooomph in the drums anyday. Besides that over-polished production just makes every band sound almost identical, i.e., very little variation in sound itself, tho there are exceptions - on both sides

  • It's not the production I have a problem with. It's the uninspired and effeminately annoying BM music.

  • Sounds amazing. Brilliant band

  • Love "Bad production" releases

  • yeah production quality has nothing to do with passion. music is emotion. if you can feel the emotion in the chords, lyrics and vocals...its quality music. Raw or well produced.

  • I just wanna say that just because a band has "over-pollished" production, that doesn't mean there's no passion in the music. The two things have no connection. I am not saying that this is bad at all, just that that claim is fucking moronic. That's sort of the same claim as saying that guitarists who play fast have no soul--it's just bullshit with no factual basis.

  • @Moonohol agreed. its all subjective. this quote sums it up well, "Hit pieces on different kinds of aesthetics only tells people that you lack the imagination to understand somebody different from yourself."

  • This band slightly was on to something in the first release, I personally dont care for this album. Occultation put a Insipid stain of disgust in this band and forever destroying any good attributes they band might of had. And to top it off seeing occultation/negative plane band members are in a Indie pop band out of brooklyn (pollen) just sent it over the top. Watch out I here the drummer sits online talking shite for his band, complete rubbish. when was goth music acceptable in metal

  • This band rules. The production has atmosphere AND character, something that most modern music lacks with its abuse of compression, sound replacement, meter/pitch correction, computer cut and paste with flat pro-tooled to hell boring sounds. I'm not even against big production as long the band can actually play their songs and the personality/ character of the music is retained. I just find that most modern production techniques are cookie cutter and lack dynamics. Death To Pro-Tool Metal!

  • absolutely quality. production is perfect

  • I feel like dancing!

  • cathedral reverb. If you don't like it, gtfo

  • Technical black metal

  • Primitve black metal sound from deathly burning caves of hell!

  • This has a very authentic old Dodheimsgard / First Wave vibe!!! Black METAL!

  • this reminds me of the scream bloody gore album so much

  • love the sound!!!!!!

  • I can't believe there are people out there who actually still complain about music with "bad production" (as if it hasn't already been explained about a million fucking times). We like it that way, if you don't then you can either go listen to better known bands with shitty over-pollished sounds that basically have no passion in the music, or you can go ahead and try your luck at making a well-produced BM band and ruin the genre even further. I'll stick with Nattens Madrigal production any day.

  • @ProcreatingSorg Complaining about "bad production" is the same thing as complaining about "over-pollished" music, you two faced fuck.

  • @wormsinfestedfetus Yeah, the difference is I didn't go around an over-polished music video to do so, now did I you stupid dumbfuck? THAT is complaining about it, here it's just stating the obvious, not complaining. Besides, I actually don't give a fuck what other people like or listen to. I do my own thing, unlike you who seem to follow the path of every ignorant basic YouTube jackass... to insult people you don't even know without even attempting a conversation first. Pathetic...

  • @ProcreatingSorg Good production isn't bad, how is clean sound dispassionate?

I'd say that paracletus is plenty passionate, and that had good production.

  • @mamaloney1 It's all subjective to taste man. See, I don't think Deathspell Omega's "Paracletus" is an album with "good production" but that's just how I see it. I'm tired of explaining myself over this topic, I just feel that if an album sounds more like a jam session, and less like a studio contemplation on how to make money it just sounds better. Go figure...

  • @ProcreatingSorg By good production, I mean being able to hear the instruments properly and having the song flow well. Paracletus is wonderfully produced IMO, same with SMRC.

  • @ProcreatingSorg personally I don't believe in bad production; only suitable and unsuitable. The production on this album is brilliant in my opinion

  • @JonathanToomey Ok, let me explain myself a little further. I've been getting a lot of "it's the music that counts" crap. I know this, I'm not brain dead. But it's all a matter of taste. I personally, do not like over-polished production because I can't get into the music, it sounds fake and plastic. I like jam-session in the studio kind of sounds. It gives it more life. In THIS specific case (Negative Plane) they go for the funeral mass, ghosts making music kind of atmosphere, and I lOVE it!

  • awesome sound. buck3t you are fagot

  • did I fall into a black abyss? extreme bands just don't sound this good anymore...wow

  • Strangely catchy. I like it.

  • brilliant.
