FANTASTIC !! SUPERB TRIBUTE TO GOODMAN, AND I HAVE NEARLY ALL HIS RECORDINGS AND THE FAVOURITE CD'S ARE THE 2 CARNEGIE HALL CONCERTS !! PLAY THEM IN THE CAR ALL THE TIME SO WOULD LIKE YOUR CD TO GO WITH THEM--HOW DO I GET A COPY PLEASE ?? Any chance of coming to the uk ??
This lively take on Benny Goodman is fantastic. You have incredible playing style, and it would be great if your band could tour here in the U.S.A...Friends, Lloyd.
You are welcome, and I hope you do get to tour here in the U.S. sometime, and if you are in Minneapolis, Minnesota for a concert, I will attend it...Friends, Lloyd.
Firstly, very nice! A tasty recording . . . A few questions: the melody at the beginning for instance--the brass sound is very "mellow," there is no trebble harshnessinf the trumpets especially. It almost sounds flugelhornish. Were the brass playing into the stands--or, how did you get that more "rounded" brass sound?? I notice you left out that double tongue sixteenths ca 2:45. Nice--your version fits your rounded brass sound better (maybe those 16ths were added in a later also).
