Nate Allen is someone they had very high on their draft board because he has tremendous talent, great discipline, covers extremely well, and hits hard. Get over the fact that we didn't take Earl Thomas or Taylor Mays. DE was more important then safety in the first round. You build a team from inside out, not outside in.

That being said, I am a fan of Mays. I hope someone takes a chance on him, cause his physical abilities are just to great to pass up on. I believe he can come in and do well at the saftey position, as long as what we saw last year was more of... his team as a whole, and not him. He may be perfect for some team, and I wouldn't be pissed if my team ( The Cowboys) took him, since we are lacking there. But I would have much rather had Thomas or Berry.

Taylor Mays will be the best safety of this draft class. He didnt play in a system at Sc that fit his physicality. Once he gets to the next level in a scheme that utilizes his skills like the Steelers use Polamalu up at the line of scrimmage there is going to be no stopping him. He has the size and speed to cover side line to side line and would be a great pick up for the packers with the 23rd pick. Dom Capers defense is just another perfect example of how he can translate to the NFL.

@G0packG0 Do NOT Compare Mays to Polomalu. Polomalu is a do all Saftey, and one of the top 3 at that position that we have seen in the past decade. The issues with Mays lay with his cover abilities. EVERYONE knows about his physical abilities. I mean, the kid ran in the 4.2 40 range at one point in time... that's just ridiculous, but if you can't cover, you wont be coveted as highly as someone that can. Have you seen film on Thomas OR Berry? They are both complete safties.
