Faux news is at again. Reality is that under Democrats, Congress traditionally had a 'pay as you go' rule for spending by the federal government. They were called "Tax and Spend Democrats" because if they elected to pass programs needing money from the budget, they would raise taxes or decrease other spending to pay for it. When the GOP had had control of Congress, they dismissed the pay as you go rule in exchange for a "Spend and Bankrupt" policy.
