i worked on the polar express for friendly franks it used to be called wade shows wish i could find the ride i worked on that would be cool the newer rides suck the old ones were ran by gas and were controled much better the tilt a wirl was ran by gas that was sweet the new rides you hit a button and they are set up whats the fun in that?

It looks pretty fast. But, I went on the hymalaya at Indiana Beach and that is probably the fastest one I have been on.

It also has very steep hills, so your but leaves the seat a lot.

The only other really fast hymalaya I have been on is the Polar Express at a Carnival. Those carnival workers really get the rides moving. Not like the wimpy theme park rides, which are not fun at all.

To all of those who say the Polar Express is not fast.....if you never rode this at Coney Island,then your just talking bullshit! Yeah,there might be others out there,but this one can not be topped by any other.The Polar Express is one of the Coney Island original rides that has survived for years.And this was one of the only rides in Coney Island where the music was played from records on two turntables,and the operator mixing while the ride was in motion,NOT CDs or Tapes!!

me and my niggaz always chill front of the polar bear express ride every friday nights during the school vacation breaks and we still do every summer and sometimes,we hop on it and it was fun.:-)

if they close this ride down like they did 2 the astrolands,im moving the fuck outta here cuz NYC aint gonna be the same like it was.

They did close it down. D: ... Before Coney Island went under construction it was shut down because one of the belts broke causing one of the passengers to fly off and crack her head open... I just hope they remake this ride... I also hope they keep the art work... I just liked being on the ride because of the DJ and Art.

Mid summer of 2008... I do hope they revive it though.... It's my favorite ride out of all of them... The Cyclone is awesome, but it's just too quick... Though they do lower the price every time you tell the conductor you want to go again...
